Rorschach, looking somewhat displeased, used the projector in the center of the Meeting Room to show everyone two images.
The first was the state of the Main Plane. If the past was like sores appearing on the earth, the present was a world with almost no "skin" left intact, covered everywhere in murky blemishes.
The view zoomed in, piercing the clouds as if from a Flying Device, and then skimmed close to the ground. Only then did it become clear: masses of something like a fleshy, fungal carpet covered the surface. Some patches were as dry as scabs; others were disturbingly vibrant, BUBBLE BUBBLE, oozing a viscous fluid.
