This place had long ceased to be an active mining site, and was now a residential and commercial area. Most Dwarf subterranean cities were like this; they converted large-scale, mined-out tunnels into living quarters but kept their original mining names.
Here stood a tavern with a long history, extremely famous among the Dwarves. It was said that in ancient times, it was the only place with the channels to sell ale and spirits from human kingdoms and the Elf World, and it also had a special cellar that supplied the Dwarf King.
"Damn it, my ale! That ale cost me a month's wages!" Singrev roared in grief and fury, his voice echoing through the shattered corridor.
The Adventurer, feeling flush, had come to the tavern of his dreams and ordered the best ale with his eyes closed. But before it could even reach his lips, the world came crashing down. By the time he came to his senses, nothing around him was intact.
