That afternoon, Summer Lancaster was notified that all cooperation with Glimmer was to be terminated. Summer Lancaster was shocked. 'Is he for real? He's the president! Terminating our collaboration with Glimmer is terrible for the company's growth. Why is he acting so childish?'
During a break from work that afternoon, Summer Lancaster went to find Kenneth Yates, but his secretary stopped her, saying the president was resting and didn't want to be disturbed.
'This man... At a time like this, he's taking a break? Relaxing?' Summer Lancaster bypassed the secretary and barged directly into the office. Kenneth Yates wasn't resting at all. He told the secretary to leave, then closed the door. The secretary found it odd. The president hated being disturbed, yet this time, he hadn't gotten angry at all.
"Kenneth Yates, call Glimmer right now and talk about the collaboration," Summer Lancaster demanded, planting her hands on his desk and glaring at him. But Kenneth Yates was as relaxed as if nothing had happened.
"I already called," Kenneth Yates said, sitting back in his chair and looking up at the little tigress before him.
"You did? Did you change your mind? Is the collaboration back on?" Summer Lancaster's eyes lit up.
"I called Glimmer to terminate the contract." Summer Lancaster froze. She staggered backward and collapsed onto the sofa.
"The trade show is just around the corner! Where are we supposed to find a designer now? Kenneth Yates, why did you terminate the contract with Glimmer?"
"I've already found a new design firm, so you don't need to worry. I've also taken care of all the follow-up work. As for why I terminated the contract? Because they bullied my woman." Kenneth Yates crossed his arms, looking completely self-assured.
'His woman? Is he talking about... me?' Summer Lancaster never expected him to say something like that. She stood up, walked over to him, and fixed her eyes on his.
"Kenneth Yates, do you mean what I think you mean?" she asked earnestly.
Kenneth Yates smiled. "I'd imagine an Aurelian University graduate is smart enough to figure it out."
Summer Lancaster froze. Kenneth Yates leaned in and gave her a fleeting kiss on the forehead. Her stunned gaze drifted upward. Kenneth Yates was so tall that even in high heels, she only came up to his shoulder. She looked up into his eyes. 'How many years had she waited for this moment...'
Kenneth Yates was still smiling faintly, but his smile vanished in the next instant. Summer Lancaster threw her arms around his neck, rose onto her tiptoes, and pressed her lips to his! Kenneth's eyes flew wide open, his face a mask of shock. Summer closed her eyes, and before the look on his face could fade, she let him go. With Kenneth still frozen in that same expression, Summer ran out of the office. He remained stunned for a few more seconds, then scoffed. 'He'd just been kissed by force! By a woman! In the office, no less! What a blow to his masculine pride!' But as he thought of her clumsy, inexperienced kiss, the corners of his mouth curved into a smile.
Summer Lancaster had wanted to do that ever since she first met him as a child. Even though more than a decade had passed, that passion hadn't diminished in the slightest. It felt like a long-held wish had finally been granted. She tackled her afternoon work with renewed vigor. Kenneth Yates's efficiency shot up as well, and his secretary grew worried as she watched him smiling foolishly to himself. What startled her even more was when the president complimented her hair accessory that afternoon. 'She'd been wearing that accessory for a whole month! Did something wonderful happen to him today? The president she knew was a cold, aloof immortal. Had he descended to the mortal realm?'
The secretaries were gathered together discussing the president when Summer Lancaster happened to pass by. She leaned in to listen, but to her surprise, one of the secretaries immediately pulled her into their group to share the gossip.
"Director Lancaster, the president is in such a good mood today! He even said my hair accessory is pretty! Do you want a raise? If you ask now, he'll definitely say yes. A few of us already got one!" Summer Lancaster just gave them a knowing look, not saying a word. Inwardly, she felt a strange sense of joy.
