Fang Zhen was suddenly startled!
Near a fallen horse, a flatbed cart lay sideways, laden with seven or eight bulging burlap sacks. By the cart, a man in his forties—dressed in a grayish-white linen top and light blue pants—was desperately swinging a pitchfork-like weapon to protect a young boy and girl behind him, trying to drive back the monster before them!
Fang Zhen squeezed the handbrake, pulled a pair of tactical binoculars from the side pocket of the backpack on his bike, and raised them to his eyes to observe the monsters.
There were two humanoid monsters. Their bodies were gaunt but massive; if they stood up straight, they would likely be over six feet tall.
The monsters looked human, only they were completely naked and hairless. Their skin was entirely cyan, they had no visible genitalia, and they had no eyes. Where their eyes should have been was a circle of fine black dots.
