Shao Qiu's death was undoubtedly another massive blow to Du Jun. He had summoned a total of five people: four city bosses and one representative. Now, three of the bosses were already dead. They were all directors of the Demon Management Bureau in their respective cities—figures of high status and immense authority. Now, they had all died right inside City B's Bureau. If word of this got out, it would definitely cause an enormous uproar.
Furthermore, many officers in his Bureau had also died. If they had just been killed by the Ghost Demon, it wouldn't be quite as unforgivable. But if the Ghost Demon managed to escape in the end, Du Jun would have no choice but to commit seppuku to atone for his failure. The sin would be too great. Even if he killed the Ghost Demon, the merit would not outweigh his faults.
Damn it, how had things turned out like this? Were city bosses really that easy to kill? Three of them had died in a flash.
