Jensen walked down the street with Jenna by his side.
"You've got to tell me where we're going." Jenna pestered.
"Wait first. Let me ask you what kind of date you like and dislike." Jensen asked.
Jenna stopped to think. "Anything that isn't a dinner date I love it. I'd rather cook for you than for you to take me to some restaurants that they charge like five thousand dollars for a kiwi drink."
Jensen didn't say anything. He just continued walking.
"Huh! Just like that?" Jenna said as she followed him.
She managed to over take him and stopped right in front of him. Her chest was heaving up and down as she tried to stabilize her breath.
"Don't be such a chicken. Tell me." She pleaded bobbing her head from side to side.
Jensen looked to his right and she followed his gaze.
They were in front of an amusement park. It was the best and also the most crowded in town.
"You really brought me here." She said with a straight face still looking at the entrance.
"Yeah. You said you didn't like dinner dates so I knew this was perfect from the start." He said simply.
She turned to him slowly with the same straight face. Then a bright smile enveloped her lips as she hugged him.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you." She said quickly. "You really know how to treat a girl."
"Come on let's go." He said as he motioned with his head.
Jenna smiled happily as she jumped on his back for a piggy back ride.
He carried her in and paid the entrance fee for them both.
The first ride they went on was the water roller coaster— Jenna's insistence.
Jenna sat in front with him. He looked as though he was about to faint.
"Are you alright?" She asked as they began to move.
"I've never been good with heights or rollercoasters since I was a kid." He said as he clutched unto the bar in front of him.
Jenna laughed it off thinking he was joking. But when they reached the highest peak of the ride, she noticed his face was pale.
"Are you ok?" She asked.
Jensen just shook his head. His heart was beating to fast. His mouth was dry, his mind blank. It was as though he was going to faint.
'He wasn't joking.' Jenna said to herself. She looked at Jensen again and this time he looked worse.
"Jensen, look at me." She said.
As Jensen turned to face her, she grabbed his face and kissed him deeply. He was lost in thought but still couldn't react.
Their lips remained locked till they felt the ride slowing down.
Jensen got out with shaky legs after Jenna. He sat on a bench and placed his elbows on his knees and hands on his head.
Jenna sat beside him holding a lemon drink. She was just looking at him with concern.
"I'm sorry. I'm meant to make you have a good time but here I am being soothed by you." He said as he ran his hand through his hair.
"Don't worry. The next rides won't be height related." She said.
"It's not really the heights, it's just the roller coasters." He said getting up.
He looked down at her and smiled adjusting his hair. "Let's go and have fun."
Jenna smiled getting her feet. She took his arm and dragged him off to the next ride.
They spent the rest of the evening going from one ride to another.
Jensen sat on a bench kind of exhausted. Jenna stood in front of one of those carnival games stand.
"Sweet heart can you get one for me?" She said pointing at a huge stuffed polar bear.
Jensen got to his feet and looked at the get up. "You know this games are rigged." He said.
"I can assure you sir that this is not rigged. 100% trust worthy." The attendant said.
Jensen could sense any lie in his voice. He paid five dollars and he got five balls.
He took a pitching stance and threw the ball. Just then the targets started moving and he missed.
The ball flew into the wall and fixed itself deep in it.
"What the fuck man?" Jensen said looking at the moving target and the ball on the wall. "You said it wasn't rigged."
"It isn't. I honestly forgot to tell you that they move. But what the hell with that arm power of yours." The attendant said.
Jensen said scratching the back of his head. He picked up the next ball but Jenna took it from him.
She aimed well and threw the ball. It narrowly missed a target.
Jensen picked up the last two balls. Two in his right and the last in his left.
"Let me try my luck." He said.
He crossed his arms around his chest with the balls resting on his shoulders.
He released the stance throwing the balls against the wall.
They bounced off the wall and around the room. The first two narrowly missed the target. The last one recoiled off the back of the room and hit two of the targets.
People that were watching began to clap at the shot.
"Wow. I really didn't think that would work. I just went with stupid luck." Jensen said to Jenna.
"Either ways you won the bear for me." She said as the attendant handed her the bear.
"Wow. I wish my boyfriend was like him." Said a girl.
"No kidding. My boyfriend gave up after the first try."
"The girls lucky."
"They make a very cute couple."
Jenna looked at Jensen and smiled sheepishly.
"Why are you smiling like that?" He asked.
"I can finally brag with my man's name." She said proudly.
Jensen chuckled lightly. "You never cease to amaze me."
"That's why you love me. True or false?" She said as she rested her head on his shoulder.
"I'm not going to answer that." He said as he sat on a bench.
Jenna pouted then looked round. It was getting dark.
"So how do you plan to end this?" She asked as she sat beside him.
"Ferris wheel." He said getting to his feet.
"Ugh. Not that. That too fucking cliche and cringe." She said closing her eyes and shaking her legs up and down like a little girl.
Jensen walked over to a nearby ice cream vendor and bought two cones—orange flavored.
He walked back to Jenna and sat beside her. He used the cone to gently nudge her head.
She opened her eyes to look at him. "What is it?"
"No ferris wheel. I was only joking." He said as he held the cone in front of her.
Her eyes brightened up as she saw the cone. She took it from him and licked it.
"Mmmmmmmm." She hummed in satisfaction. "How did you know that I love orange."
"I didn't. I just bought what I liked." He said taking a bit out of it.
Her facial expressions changed. "How very unromantic. In this scenario you're meant to lie and say something like 'I've seen you admire the flavor' or 'it's my job as your boyfriend to know' or 'because you're my girlfriend '."
"Umm...no." He said. "But I'll try next time."
She giggled and rubbed some ice cream on his nose. "I love you too." She said.
Jensen looked at her with one brow raised. He took out most of his ice cream on the next bite then plopped the remaining on her head with cone.
"What's wrong with you?" She said pounding his back with her fist.
"Ok ok. Let's go so I can wash it out." He said scooping her up in his arms.
She didn't protest but instead fed him her remaining ice cream.
As they got to the wash room, Jensen lowered her on her feet then led her to the sinks.
He gently bent down her her head and turned on the tap. He scooped some of the water in his hand and began to wash off the ice cream.
When he finished he took out a towel from a rack and began to dry her hair.
She looked at his with glowing eyes and red cheeks and ears.
"You look at me like we just had a round and you want more." He said looking at her.
"You donkey. It's like you think like my mum." She said hitting his chest. "If you should know, it's because I'm just trying to picture of we get married."
Jensen stopped his movements and she looked at him.
'He doesn't want to get married. Maybe it's all just this highschool phase'. She thought.
He folded the towel and used it to hit her head. "Let's focus on now so that we'll have a very good and concrete reason to get married not just because we dated since highschool."
She blushed the punched him in the stomach. He chuckled as he stumbled back from the surprise attack.
"Next time go straight to the point instead of making me think that you're only dating me for my body." She said.
He laughed at her. "I don't do things like that. It's disgusting and crude. And you need fighting lessons."
"Well talk about that later." She said pulling him out of the washroom.
It was already dark outside and everyone had dispersed except for the few workers and last minutes stranglers.
"Let's go before my mum starts thinking that I'm getting humped by you." She said.
"Ok." Jensen said. "Wait, what?" He added with confusion but Jenna just laughed.
