Chapter 10 - - Plague (2)

A garrison of silver plated knights stood in front of Stone Monkey. As his grin only grew wider.

"Wonderful..."

The leader of the group stared at Stone Monkey.

"And you are?"

Stone Monkey shrugged his shoulders, putting his arms out slightly.

"Oh, I'm a simple nobody..."

The air seemed to start to hum around Stone Monkey's body, light blue sparks crackling throughout it.

The leader continued to stare at him, not uttering a word, before slowly drawing his sword, a beautiful silver longsword with a golden hilt.

'Is he unable to use his will? This might be more boring than I thought...'

Stone Monkey burst forward, blue sparks coated his fists as the sound of thunder rang throughout the mountain, yet Stone Monkey's fist had not hit a metal helmet. No, it only met the air, with the knight standing perfectly fine next to his fist.

'How did he dodge that…'

The knight uttered a single word, the movement of his mouth invisible under the cold steel of his helmet.

"Dangerous…"

And then his sword swung forward, like a golden flash of light it burst forward through the air.

'Is he just…superhuman?'

Stone Monkey barely avoided the sword, shoving himself backward with his will.

'Fine then.'

He grit his teeth and coated his fists with his will, transforming the blue sparks into something resembling gauntlets made of crystalline blue lightning. His grey robes flowing slightly through the air as a blue spark shot across the distance between them, and the distance was gone. Stone Monkey had leaped through the air, his fist once again flying towards the knight, who simply stepped away again.

The man's cold steeled gaze behind his helmet followed Stone Monkey's movements perfectly, anticipating every step, every punch, every kick.

'Ah, I see it now.'

Stone Monkey peered into the flowing sparks of the man's will, the reason why he could not sense any was because he wasn't using any externally, rather amplifying it to enhance his own vision, to read Stone Monkey's movements.

'Ah...I used to be able to do something like that...'

Stone Monkey shifted his feet, sending his will out to the left of the man while he charged forward, and as the knight looked to his right, Stone Monkey was already on the other side, his fists charged with lightning.

"Gotcha."

At the base of the mountain, a woman with gleaming white armor faced a horrific beast, a raven it seemed, 5 wings, 4 eyes, it's giant form towering over her, with elongated limbs and oozing green blood, it did not let out a caw, rather a petrifying roar that pierced the air. Its entrails painted the ground, almost pouring out of its stomach.

She studied the creature, her golden eyes running carefully over its form. The brilliant armor shone less in the dark sky above the mountain. Yet she remained steadfast in front of the grotesque creature, a rapier the same color as her armor soaring across the sky in her hand as she took a deep breath, gripping the hilt and pointing it to the sky.

"Grant me the strength, to eradicate all evil..."

[Skill: Prayer, has been activated]

The sparks came and went as a brilliant light shone from the sky above, enveloping the rapier's blade in a golden light.

"...and face the light, gluttonous beast."

She shot across the air towards the 5-winged beast, each beat of its wings sent a powerful gust of wind, it's roars enveloping the soundless sky.

'Troublesome indeed...'

She used her will and jumped, bursting up and out through the air as a golden light shot her forward. She soared over the beast and aimed her rapier down, changing the direction of her momentum using her will, she instead shot like a rapidly rotating spear, holding her rapier out as she plunged headfirst towards the beast.

The beast turned two of it's eyes towards her. Staring at her before unleashing a sharp torrent of wind from it's wings. And then a large rumble suddenly shook the mountain. Startled for a moment, she quickly shifted her trajectory back towards the ground and watched as red sparks crashed through the ground in front of her, leaving a small smoking crater.

'Hm?'

She looked towards the red sparks, as they seemed to grow more violent, more aggressive.

'That's...someone's willpower. Or something...'

A lone shadow loomed from the sparks, and then a man coated in glowing vermilion armor exited the crater, dragging the corpse of another beast, which still clutched a bell and lantern in its hand, the man's beautiful sparking armor covered in green blood.

"And, who are you?"

She gained no response, the man veiled in vermilion sparks tossed the corpse forward. His blade surrounded by a torrent of his willpower.

"Ah...I see, you are another beast."

She held her rapier up, expecting to be met with a clash. But instead, the sparks dissolved almost instantly. And a man with silver hair and jade green eyes fell to the mud, almost completely naked. He was not too rugged, but had an admirable physique. Not one you would expect of a swordsman, maybe of a sickly politician.

She sighed and looked towards the sparks, forming into coherent words in front of her.

[There he is.]

She looked down at the man.

"You can't be serious..."

Yet the mountains did not stop shaking, giant gusts of wind crashing into them, seemed to cut into it. The 5-winged creature had entered the domain of the sk. Roaring loudly.

'Not good.'

Blue lightning struck the peak of the mountain, as a rugged man exited the side of it, carrying a bone club in his hands. Looking towards the sky, he sighed, and reached his hand out, and yet no response came, but he waited, until the sound of the tormented wind was interrupted by something else, and a brilliant spectral longbow manifested in his hands, carrying a golden light.

"There you are..."

He manifested a spectral arrow of his own will, and pointed the bow to the sky.

"...another labor of strength."
