Chapter 27 - Here we are

Amidst the screams and dust, Adel glimpsed the driver's face for a moment.

The light hit his eye,

and... his face... resembled someone he knew.

The same look, the same arch of his right eyebrow.

Adel's eyes widened. He whispered to himself,

remembering what had happened at the hospital, but then he fell silent:

But the sound of the explosion drowned everything out,

and the tank surged forward, tearing through the ranks of the dead.

The tank moved between the canals and the other side after shredding many of the dead.

The journey was now shrouded in fog.

It wasn't long before the tank stopped.

Adel looked at Amir's father.

"Why did you stop?"

The man looked around at all the buttons.

"I don't know, honestly. It stopped without me pressing anything. Maybe it ran out of gas."

Amir went upstairs, looking around.

"I think we're safe." Then he jumped out. After a few seconds, he held out his hand to Malik.

"Come on, get out. There's no point in staying inside the tank."

One by one, they got out, looking at the fog around them with suspicion.

They all stood looking at each other as if they had escaped from the jaws of death. Then Adel looked at the man and his son.

"What are you doing here?" The man looked at his son, then at Adel.

"This is our land. What brought you here?"

Adel didn't want to explain much. He looked at his mobile phone, then at the others. The group: "What? We're so close, how come I can't see anything?"

The man and his son looked at them and said, "Close to what, sir? I'm from here and I know this land inch by inch." Everyone appreciated the man and his son's explanation, and silence fell for a moment. They all heard a sound, so they decided to move to avoid encountering any of the undead.

As they walked, they reached their intended destination. Adel stopped.
