Omar looked around. "What the hell happened here?" He glanced at the three remaining soldiers and ordered one of them to return to the police car to contact another police unit to arrive and assist them, and to deliver the message to a key man in the precinct to come with the unit.
Then they continued walking until they reached the house where the rest of the cows were. Silence fell for a few moments, broken only by the sound of their approaching footsteps on the grass. One of the soldiers moved closer, but they were shocked to hear the lowing of the remaining cows in the pen. Their voices were terrified. The three of them stopped for a moment, but then the soldier was startled by one of the agitated cows escaping from the pen and striking him in its escape, sending him flying. The soldier and his commander, Omar, pointed their pistols at the cow, but he didn't look, knowing that the reason for its escape was inside the pen. Omar asked the soldier, who was in pain, if he was alright. He replied, "Yes, I just twisted my ankle."
He had avoided the cow, and the impact had been on his arm. . They continued inside the barn. The smell was even stronger than before, and the light was dim, flickering on and off, moving from side to side. A bird was trying to escape inside. Panic intensified when they saw many dead cows, and blood was everywhere. One of the soldiers pointed his gun at something inside, ordering it to stop. As if speaking to someone, Omar ordered him to explain what was happening.
He said, terrified,
"Sir, there's a woman standing in the middle of the barn, covered in blood!"
Omar shouted to the woman,
"Get out! The police are with you. Get out now!"
Silence fell, and the woman didn't move. But they heard a rattling sound in her voice. Omar ordered the soldier to fire into the air. The soldier swore he would fire if she didn't turn around and talk to them.
On the other side, the doctor was asking one of his assistants to bring something from the front of the ambulance. Mehdi approached the doctor, asking if he understood these symptoms and if it might be a rabid dog. But the doctor couldn't confirm anything until they got to the hospital, wondering... Regarding the reason for the police's delayed return:
Mahdi confirmed the possibility of the woman's presence. She appeared to be deaf, so she wouldn't be able to hear them even if they shouted at her. This was the reason for her not appearing yet, as he didn't know if she had come or not. The sound of Hamid's shots was terrifying to anyone at least a kilometer away.
Everyone heard more shots from the direction of the pen amidst screams.
There, the woman was almost frozen until the soldier fired a shot that hit the iron gate on the other side of the pen, causing her to turn around. Her appearance was shocking; her face was pale, and her eyes were white, as if she had died long ago. She ran towards the soldier while he shouted at her to stop. He fired several shots at her, one of which hit her chest, but the bullet didn't stop her. She advanced towards him, jumped on his head, tore off his ear, and poked her fingers into his eye. The sight was shocking to Pasha Omar. He fired several shots at her, but they all hit her in the back and didn't stop, causing him to flee amidst the soldier's screams and calls for help.
On the other side, the doctor and the team were in shock from what they had heard. The doctor ordered them to go inside the vehicle. The two entered the front of the vehicle, and the doctor was about to enter from the back, with Mahdi carrying Hamed's body. But as they approached the vehicle, they were startled by a knocking sound from inside.
Mahdi ran to open the door, ignoring the doctor's shouts to stay away. But he didn't hear him, believing that Hamed was still alive. As soon as he opened the door, he found Hamed sitting, covered with a white sheet. Silence fell for a few moments, as both the doctor and Mahdi were terrified. Mahdi asked Hamed, "Dad, are you awake?" "You know me," he said, trying to pull the cloth off Hamid's face. Hamid had jumped on Mahdi, gouging out his eye. Mahdi pushed him away amidst his screams and blood, leaving him with only one eye. He shouted at the doctor, "What's happening?" The doctor avoided him for a moment but tried to save him. However, fate had other plans. As soon as he grabbed his hand, Hamid grabbed his foot and bit it. At that point, the doctor let go and ran back to the car, shouting at his assistants to escape in the vehicle. And that's what happened. He closed the car, looking at the scene of the tragedy. His shock was directed at the returning policeman, Pasha Omar. But he didn't utter a word, even as the policeman shouted and fired shots into the air several times.
