Chapter 16 - Arc 2.1 Raven the Phoenix

Chapter 2.1 Raven the Phoenix

[Story Title: The Rebirth of the Phoenix Consort

World Grade: C

Story Details: This story is about the White Lotus Yuka of the Phoenix Clan. She, who was declared a once‑in‑a‑million‑years genius, became the disciple of the great Guardian Silver. Talented and skilled, she immediately garnered the attention of many powerful individuals, including the Crown Prince of their Kingdom, Dark.

The male lead, Dark, was under the tutelage of Guardian Gold. He first met the female lead when he was passing through the Dark Forest. There, he saw her and fell in love at first sight. He was amazed by her strength and her kind heart, which set her apart from the other women who pursued him for his wealth and power. She, on the other hand, did not even spare him a second glance once she learned who he was, choosing instead to distance herself from him. Because of this, he fell for her even more deeply and longed to be with her.

After many tribulations and hardships, the two eventually came together and married. They went on to become the strongest and kindest Emperor and Empress in the entire history of the kingdom.

Hidden Plot: The female lead was not truly the kind‑hearted person she appeared to be. To gain power, she unhesitatingly plotted against the unfavored third miss of the Phoenix Clan—her own sister. She dug out her sister's Heart Jade and replaced it with her own. The Heart Jade of her sister was extremely rare, and no one knew of its existence except the female lead.

Everyone believed the third miss was unable to cultivate because of her lack of talent, but in truth, it was because her rare Heart Jade required a unique manual to unlock its potential. Knowing this, the female lead secretly stole it and abandoned her sister in the Dark Forest to be devoured by wolves.

No one searched for the useless, disfigured, abandoned miss when she went missing. No one cared for her, as the clan was too busy celebrating and nurturing their new genius, Yuka. How could they spare the time to look for her?

While Yuka basked in the limelight, the forgotten third miss suffered alone in the Dark Forest, waiting for death. She had been alone at her birth, and she would also be alone in her death.]

"Her last wishes aren't that hard to accomplish, and they don't go against my plans of finding my husband. But really, is this girl dumb or just naive? Why didn't her last regrets include getting revenge on that bitch who wronged her?! Well, not my problem. Alright then—I'll fulfill your last life's regrets, and while I'm at it, I'll make that bitch suffer too!"

Clear gritted her teeth as she clutched her bleeding chest, forcing herself to stand and search for shelter.

She knew that if she lingered any longer, her blood would surely attract the wild beasts roaming the forest. In her condition, if that happened, her mission would truly end in failure.

With great difficulty, Clear climbed one of the nearby trees and settled into a lotus position. She began to gather what little Qi she could to mend her wounds.

She knew it was futile, her Heart Jade had been stolen, but still, she had to try. Even the smallest thread of Qi might keep her alive.

A metallic taste filled her mouth as she spat out blood, her body trembling. At last, the pain and the steady loss of blood overwhelmed her, and she collapsed into unconsciousness.

In the depths of the forest, a red light flickered to life. It was neither too bright nor too dim, but just enough to make the beasts lurking in the shadows pause—and retreat in fear.

A figure of a red phoenix hovered above the woman drenched in blood, its profound, age‑wisened eyes gazing down at her. With a powerful flap of its wings, the phoenix transformed into a brilliant red light that shot straight into the woman's body, more precisely, into her heart.

Clear gasped for air as though she had not breathed for an eternity. She clutched her chest as an unbearable pain gripped her heart. The burning sensation was so intense it felt as if her very heart was set aflame. She screamed.

"Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!"

Her cry echoed through the forest, piercing and unrelenting. Every magical beast turned toward the sound, their eyes filled with both fear and reverence as they stared in that direction.

Slowly, the scream faded. Clear's strength gave way, and she slipped once more into unconsciousness, falling into a deep, heavy sleep.

Morning came, the sun shining brightly over the forest as the gentle breeze carried fresh air to all who breathed it.

Atop a tree, a woman soaked in dried blood slowly opened her eyes. Raising a hand to shield herself from the blazing light, she carefully sat up.

"What? How... how come it's a Heart Jade!"

Clear, seated in a lotus position, wore a look of shock. She was utterly baffled to discover that her Heart Jade had returned.

"How did my Heart Jade come back? Did it... grow again?"

"My child..." a voice echoed softly.

"Who are you?"

Clear's body tensed with instinctive caution as the voice resounded in her mind.

"Do not fret, my child. I am not your enemy, but your ally. If you still remember your clan's legendary beast... then you might already know me."

"You mean?!" Clear's eyes sparkled with sudden realization.

"Yes, I am your clan's legendary beast—the Phoenix."

"If you are my clan's Guardian Beast, then what are you doing here? And most of all, why are you with me?" Clear couldn't help but ask.

"I am indeed your clan's Guardian Beast," the Phoenix replied solemnly, "but I do not guard the clan itself. I guard the next rising Phoenix. And I am with you because you are that Phoenix. No... you are now the Phoenix."

"The Phoenix? What do you mean? I don't understand what you're talking about. What does being the next Phoenix even mean?"

Clear was truly puzzled, her brows furrowed in confusion.

"Do not worry, my child. There is no need to fear,"

There was a faint trace of amusement in the Phoenix's tone.

"Being the Phoenix does not imply danger. It simply means you will inherit the same power as the Phoenix—and I will be your companion."

"So you mean that I also had the Phoenix Legendary regeneration and rebirth ability?!"

"Yes, but your power as the Phoenix is not limited to that alone. Since you are now the Phoenix, you also have complete control over the power of fire. The ability to command fire is the birthright of all Phoenixes; without it, a Phoenix is no Phoenix."

"However... how did you manage to regenerate my Heart Jade?" Clear asked, touching her chest as her gaze lifted toward the boundless sky.

"Haha... you must be jesting, my child. I do not have the power to grant you a new Heart Jade. That Heart Jade was always yours. When your rare Heart Jade was cruelly dug out by that evil sister of yours, it triggered the Phoenix blood flowing within you and gave birth to the Legendary Phoenix Heart Jade. One of the conditions for its awakening is precisely this—for one's rare Heart Jade to be stolen and replaced by Phoenix Heart Qi."

The Phoenix explained.

"You were fortunate, little one. The place you chose to rest happened to be a fragment of the Sacred Tree of the Phoenixes. When you absorbed the Qi from your surroundings last night, you unknowingly drew in the Phoenix Heart Qi from the sacred tree. That energy not only allowed you to grow another Heart Jade, but also awakened me when you successfully created the Phoenix Heart Jade."

The Phoenix's voice carried both solemnity and warmth as it explained.

"So that's why—hahaha! I really am one lucky human. That one heated moment caused me to grow another Heart Jade, and a Legendary one at that! Hahaha! It looks like I'll need to thank First Sister when we meet again!"

Clear laughed to her heart's content.

"You should, you should. Ah, before I forget—here, this is a spatial ring. It was passed down by your ancestors, the previous Phoenixes. Take good care of it, and may it serve you well."

A red ring, carved with the figure of a phoenix, appeared out of thin air. Clear caught it in her hand, her eyes gleaming.

"Do I bind it with a drop of my blood?" she asked, pricking her finger and letting a drop fall onto the ring.

"Yes. Just a single drop of blood will make the ring recognize you as its new owner."

The moment Clear's blood touched the ring, it released an intense, blazing red light. The Phoenix Ring then flew onto her left ring finger, where it settled firmly in place.

"Not bad," Clear murmured in praise after examining the treasures hidden within the ring.
