Chapter 85 - Chapter 85: Find a Substitute, Come to Natlan!

It's been some time since Genshin Impact 5.0 launched.

Various Genshin Impact zone UP mains began to flex their skills, churning out character guide videos one after another.

Besides the UP mains making character guide videos, some had already leveled their characters decently and were diving straight into the Abyss with their freshly pulled ones.

The Brave Set triggers mindlessly for Natlan characters, and the Nightsoul Set provides a ton of crit for Natlan characters, easing the grind burden.

So, many players who'd hoarded Resin didn't need much time to farm a usable set of artifacts, then took their characters to tackle the Abyss.

Some UP mains were researching the characters' mechanics, trying to pair up from the dozens of characters in Genshin to create team comps that'd make eyes light up—or black out.

Of course, not all UP mains were doing character-related videos; some were making open-world content instead.

These guide videos were great, of course.

But since Genshin Impact 5.0 had only just launched, and the main storyline was pretty long, many players, after clearing the main quest, started leisurely exploring the nation of Natlan.

Even with tons of videos posted online, they weren't in a rush to watch them; instead, they sought the meaning of the journey in the game itself.

Mu Yang was one such player.

As a well-known UP main in the Genshin zone, he wasn't rushing to make guide videos right now. Instead, he was controlling his characters to explore the Natlan region.

"Sigh, ran into monsters."

While Mu Yang was hunting for chests, he found an ordinary chest guarded by a group of Hilichurls.

In the past, he would've long since controlled one of his powerhouse characters to one-shot the Hilichurls.

But ever since coming to Natlan, he just couldn't bring himself to slaughter these Hilichurls anymore.

Leaving the Hilichurl-slaying to someone else was the way to go.

So, Mu Yang switched to a bow character, using the barely trained Amber to aim at the Hilichurls from afar and shoot them once.

Since he didn't aim for long, Amber's arrow didn't infuse with Pyro; it just hit the Mitachurls with physical damage.

"Ya!"

The Hilichurls got all riled up after getting hit.

They grabbed their wooden clubs to attack Amber, but right then, the sound of slicing through the air rang out.

Immediately after, several flame-forged arrows struck the Hilichurls unerringly—whether ordinary Hilichurls or the bigger Hilichurl Shooters, they all turned to ash upon impact, letting out a wail before dissipating.

[Invincible~]

[This Natlan version really babies newbies, huh?]

[Run into enemies, just loose one arrow from afar, and the Pyro Archon sub-ins for you to wipe out all the monsters.]

[Thinking of newbies using a level 10 Amber to beat Hilichurl Shooters makes my heart so unbalanced.]

[Back in our day, it wasn't this easy.]

[When we were still weak, we were really scared of running into Fatui or Hilichurl Shooters—few hits and we'd get smashed.]

[My first time beating a Hilichurl Shooter was after pulling Beidou; used Beidou's parry to grind it down.]

[Newbies these days could probably electro-shock a bunch of old tough small fries with Lisa and Barbara, right?]

"I don't know if newbies can take down Hilichurl Shooters with Lisa and Barbara, but I do know that newbies coming to Natlan must be having a blast."

"Because I'm having a super blast right now."

Mu Yang smiled as he bantered with the folks in his livestream chat.

In the post-main-quest dialogue, the Pyro Archon had once said he'd continue overseeing Natlan, and if the Traveler encountered powerful foes on their journey, he'd lend a hand.

Players thought he was just talking big, but nope—the Pyro Archon really would snipe an arrow from afar to one-shot the monsters.

From this stretch of playtime, Mu Yang had summed up some patterns.

After engaging enemies, if it dragged on without resolving, the Pyro Archon would loose arrows to help finish them off.

But if players didn't want to stick around that long, they could do like Mu Yang just did: attack monsters from range with a bow user.

If the combat distance was too far, the Pyro Archon would draw his bow early and one-shot the beasts.

Mu Yang figured this was miHoYo's deliberate design—even if he didn't get programming, combat distance and duration clearly weren't accidental ties.

It had to be miHoYo specially providing a no-sweat playstyle, letting newbie players use their fresh characters to quickly handle enemies.

But forget newbies—even veteran players like Mu Yang loved using this method to deal with foes.

Just a light poke with Amber, and boom—the Pyro Archon's arrows one-shot everything. How effortless?

Plus, it let him field Amber again after so long.

Amber teaming up with the Pyro Archon to one-shot enemies—what a beautiful thing.

Some players were even more playful than Mu Yang: they'd pop Zhongli's shield, then stroll over to take hits.

After half a minute of tanking, scrolling their phone, the Pyro Archon would clean up for them.

And players noticed that even in combat state with the BGM blaring, characters could still enter idle animations.

Watching the Abyss Mages desperately trying to deal damage, but the shielded characters just singing and dancing, only for the Pyro Archon to tip a rocket—tons of players saw that and lost it, bursting into laughter.

Some even skipped the shield altogether, having Dehya tank with Chuychu.

Dehya had her low-HP heal talent, and Chuychu had off-field healing too.

So you'd get scenes of Dehya constantly taking hits, her HP dipping then recovering, and after a bit, all the monsters beating on her just dropping dead.

But Mu Yang couldn't bring himself to do that.

Even though Dehya had eaten up a bunch of his pity and was already C10, he still couldn't bear to.

Besides, C10 or not—what of it?

Maybe someday those overflowed 5-star constellations would come in handy?

Just as Mu Yang finished opening the chest and was about to keep exploring, yellow text flashed on the left side of the screen.

Mu Yang glanced over, instantly raising his brows in delight.

"The Pyro Archon's gonna send me Primogems?"
