Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: First Meeting

Snape's footsteps came to an abrupt halt.

The raven's shrill and raucous voice instantly echoed through the area, causing the two arguing girls to suddenly fall silent.

Taking a deep breath.

Snape didn't rush to resolve this awkward situation. Instead, he turned his head, his gaze shifting unpredictably as he stared at Juliet.

"When did you learn to speak?"

"..."

No response.

Juliet tilted her head, as if she didn't understand a word Snape was saying.

Just like an ordinary raven, her eyes were clear with a hint of foolishness. If the lingering sound wasn't still ringing in his ears, Snape might have been fooled by this innocent expression.

He laughed out of anger.

Snape flicked Juliet's forehead and threatened in a low voice:

"Want to watch the fun, do you? Your punishment tonight is no dried mice."

"Caw!"

The Violet Raven flapped her wings in dissatisfaction to protest.

But Snape obviously had no intention of changing his decision. He slowly walked out from behind the willow tree, unhurriedly.

Looking at the two girls whose expressions were not without vigilance, he spoke calmly:

"Hello. I am Severus Snape, living on White Kite Lane. At the same time, I am also a wizard, as you mentioned."

...

Time rewinds slightly.

Earlier this month, Lily Evans finally made an important decision:

She was going to tell her sister, Petunia Evans, the secret that she was a legendary wizard, sharing it with the relative she trusted most in this world!

The beginning went smoothly.

Through secret practice in private, Lily gradually mastered some tricks for using magic.

Although she had no wand and had not undergone any systematic teaching, and wasn't even sure if she was the only wizard in the world.

But as long as magical blood still surged in her veins, wizards of any age could use some tricks that seemed incredible to ordinary people.

For example, making a budding flower bloom in the palm of her hand.

This small trick, which couldn't even be considered a spell and could be done by any wizard, directly destroyed the worldview Petunia had originally believed in firmly!

Wizards really exist in the world!

Just like her sister Lily!

*But what about me?*

*Why haven't I been able to do such magical magic since I was little?!*

Lily obviously didn't know why, after she happily showed Petunia the results of her hard work, Petunia showed not joy but resentment!

"You monster! I'm going to tell Mum and Dad!"

"No, don't! We agreed before!"

"Fine, I won't tell them, but you must admit that there is no magic in the world at all! This is just... a magic trick you managed to do through some unknown gimmick!"

Petunia raised her head arrogantly.

Watching the magical Lily begging bitterly in front of her, for some reason, a huge sense of pleasure arose spontaneously.

"But, but these are all real. It's not a magic trick."

Lily was somewhat at a loss.

The situation in front of her was too different from what she had imagined. She could only instinctively defend herself:

"I don't know how I can do it either, but it just happened! If you don't like it, I won't use magic in front of you in the future."

"No! You're lying! You're just a liar!"

Petunia retorted sharply.

Suddenly, as if she thought of a theory to verify her point of view, she couldn't wait to blurt out:

"If what you say is true, then why are you the only one who can do magic? What about other wizards? Are they all dead?!"

Lily stammered, unable to speak.

Seeing her like this, Petunia looked even more triumphant.

"There is no magic in this world at all. You are just an ordinary person like us!"

Petunia wanted to press her advantage.

For the unwillingness and jealousy spreading like wildfire deep in her heart, she would do anything rational or irrational.

But all of this came to an abrupt end with a sharp, piercing cry.

"Caw—Severus is eavesdropping on girls talking here!"

The voice was distorted and piercing.

Like a palm crushing thousands of sharp blades, it didn't sound like a tone a living human could emit at all!

Dark clouds obscured the sunlight.

A cold shadow quietly enveloped the hill, and wisps of chill rose from behind the two girls.

Petunia and Lily took a step back in unison, their expressions filled with vigilance and a nearly invisible panic, staring tightly at the old willow tree from which the sound came not far away.

Fear condensed into liquid in the oppressive waiting, raining down incessantly in the hearts of the two girls.

Petunia felt like she was going crazy.

Her legs were trembling uncontrollably, but there was no movement from behind the willow tree for a long time.

Like a guillotine hanging high overhead, a short second was stretched infinitely far in her senses, giving her goosebumps all over!

But seeing that Lily's expression was also filled with fear, to the point where her whole body was stiff and unable to move.

Petunia still gritted her teeth and took an extra step towards her sister, blocking Lily's front. The original resentment and jealousy seemed to vanish at this moment!

*Whatever it is, let this end quickly...*

Perhaps God heard Petunia's prayer.

A slightly thin figure slowly walked out from behind the willow tree. While dispelling all the inexplicable fear that had emerged, he also instantly attracted all the gazes of the two girls!

He had black hair that grew to his neck, slightly curly.

Like thorns growing quietly in the dark.

Carrying an aloofness and indifference that was hard to get along with, he wouldn't be liked by everyone, but no one could ignore the power he brewed in his calmness!

His bearing was composed, his eyes deep as the sea.

A pair of pitch-black, deep eyes revealed no emotion, making it impossible to guess his inner thoughts.

"Hello. I am Severus Snape, living on White Kite Lane."

His tone was low and deep.

Yet it was clear enough for the two girls to hear. The ocean of surging thoughts in their hearts stagnated before his steady and powerful voice.

A breeze blew past, rustling the willow leaves overhead.

Willow branches swayed with the wind.

Whether by coincidence or confidence, a long, narrow fallen leaf landed right in his slowly raised palm.

Then he blew gently.

That willow leaf was thus endowed with life, dancing in mid-air like a butterfly, flying leisurely into the depths of Lily's pupils.

Making her unable to forget this stunning scene for the rest of her life!

And only then did the second half of the boy's sentence fall into their ears.

"At the same time, I am also a wizard, as you mentioned."
