Chapter 70 - Chapter 70 [You Were Meant to Spin a Tale, Yet You Stated Facts?]

"Snow Elves… the Cryo Acheron…"

Cocolia lowered her head, deep in thought.

Then she looked up and voiced the question on her mind to Firefly:

"So, your kind managed to survive the Eternal Freeze, thanks to the innate traits of your race?"

After speaking, Cocolia shook her head slightly.

"If that's truly the case, then the methods you two propose likely hold no help for Belobog…"

By now, the implication in Cocolia's words was quite clear.

"No. While snow Elves can endure the cold," Firefly gently shook her head, a flicker of fear in her eyes.

"…in the environment brought by the Eternal Freeze, even they would instantly turn to ice sculptures…"

"On the night the Eternal Freeze descended, even with the power to resist it, our Snow Elf tribe still suffered devastating losses…"

A forlorn expression appeared on Firefly's face, tinging the air with sorrow. If Clara hadn't known Firefly was spinning a tale, she might have been completely taken in…

Yeah, right! As if! With acting skills like hers? I could take on ten of her any day!

"So… that power you mentioned, what was it?" Hearing Firefly's words, a glimmer of hope surfaced between Cocolia's brows.

She hoped Firefly could truly give her a perfect answer.

Then she could…

"We don't know its true name, nor why it could repel the Eternal Freeze's invasion." Under Cocolia's gaze, Firefly's mind raced frantically, finally landing on what she thought was a super perfect answer.

"It was surrounded by the power of Destruction, and any living thing that drew near would be corrupted. But there's no denying it protected us, shielded the Snow Elf tribe, kept us from being swallowed by the Eternal Freeze!"

"So it was…" The way Firefly described it sounded strangely familiar to Cocolia.

Firefly took a deep breath, a hint of fanaticism gleaming in her eyes.

"We called it the Stellaron…"

Cocolia: !!!

Clara: ????

Wait, what? Are you Elio in disguise?

If Clara hadn't spent so much time with Firefly, hearing this would have made her suspect Firefly was a fellow transmigrator.

"The… Stellaron?" Cocolia was shocked by Firefly's words and hurriedly sent a questioning thought toward the presence within her:

"Why are there two Stellarons here???"

"…"

Cocolia desperately wanted an answer, but unfortunately, the voice inside her seemed to have vanished completely.

"How strange…"

Cocolia muttered inwardly, then considered a possibility.

"Could it be because of them?"

She bowed her head in thought for a moment, finding this likelihood very high.

This Miss Firefly, the Empress of the snow Elves, carried the power of another Stellaron…

So, the presence within her sensed the Stellaron aura emanating from Miss Firefly and, to avoid detection by another Stellaron, hid itself…

Reaching this point in her reasoning, Cocolia mentally nodded, convinced this was highly plausible.

Otherwise, there was no explaining why the voice in her heart had disappeared without a trace ever since Firefly and Clara arrived…

So… everything Miss Firefly just said was true…

"Then I…"

Cocolia clenched her fist, seeming to ponder something…

...

"Hey, Firefly, are you Elio's reincarnation or something?"

Seeing Cocolia deep in thought, Clara didn't interrupt her. Instead, she leaned close to Firefly and asked this bizarre question.

"Huh?" Firefly blinked in confusion.

"Elio's reincarnation? What's that?"

"Because the story you made up is pretty much spot-on with this planet's history."

"Huh?" Hearing this, Firefly froze for a moment before snapping back and shaking her head, convinced Clara was pulling her leg.

"That's impossible. I'm not Elio; how could I guess that accurately?"

"But the thing is, you guessed exactly right."

To be honest, when Firefly said this planet was once prosperous, Clara didn't think much of it. After all, that was a generic, perfect answer.

But hearing Firefly later mention humans building walls following the Architects' instructions made Clara view her in a new light.

While this wasn't exactly a secret in Belobog—pretty much common knowledge—for Firefly, who knew nothing, to stumble upon this level of detail was genuinely impressive.

And when the word Stellaron came out of Firefly's mouth, Clara was completely floored.

Seriously, how can your guesses be this accurate?

Clara figured this might be one of Firefly's special talents. After all, this went beyond guessing; it was like reading straight from a script…

"Hmm…"

A brilliant idea flashed through Clara's mind—a perfect money-making scheme. Give Firefly a bit of packaging, build her a persona as an all-knowing, all-capable sage.

Once the hype reached a certain level, have Firefly debut as a universe-level idol!

She'd even thought of the perfect tagline for branding this persona:

[You Were Meant to Spin a Tale, Yet You Stated Facts?]

"N-no way…"

Feeling Clara's intense gaze, Firefly shuddered all over.

"Yes, yes, you did."

Clara chuckled, finding Firefly much more agreeable now.

Firefly: …

"You two, I've finished my considerations."

Cocolia unclenched her fist, seeming to have reached a decision.

"I know what the Stellaron is, but I never imagined it could disperse the Eternal Freeze."

"If you two can use the Stellaron to help Belobog drive away the Eternal Freeze, I am willing to offer my utmost sincerity to fulfill any request you may have."

Cocolia bowed formally to Firefly and Clara, her expression completely earnest.

"Since we have come here, it means we are willing to help you."

"Though we are not of the same race, in the face of disaster, we are all one."

In for a penny, in for a pound. Firefly stepped forward and returned Cocolia's bow with equal gravity.

"On behalf of the entire Snow Elf tribe and all elven kind, I extend an invitation to the Supreme Guardian of Belobog and all its Architects."

"Let us join hands to dispel the ice and snow!"

Cocolia descended from her elevated desk, walked up to Firefly, raised her arm, and clenched her hand into a fist.

"On behalf of all the people of Belobog and its Architects, I accept the invitation of the Cryo Acheron of the snow tribe. Together, we shall resist the Eternal Freeze!"

"With ice and snow as our pact, may it never end!"

Cocolia lowered her arm and extended her open hand toward Firefly.

"May it never end!"

Seeing this, Firefly placed her hand in Cocolia's.

Why does this scene feel weirdly inspiring all of a sudden?

Watching the solemn faces of Firefly and Cocolia, Clara slowly pulled a slice of watermelon from her 2D pocket and settled in as an audience member enjoying the show.

Then, a Memory Stone appeared in her hand.

"Doesn't matter, doesn't matter~ Gotta record this~ Gotta record this~"

T/N: "In for a penny, in for a pound." - once you have committed to a course of action, even in a small way, you should see it through to the end, fully committing your effort regardless of potential difficulties or costs.

Additional note: The Stelleron on Belabog is a preservation Stelleron, not destruction.
