Alpha Jaydon's POV
I've been watching the Alpha twins all night with their human friend Ellie. They have been showing some very possessive and protective behaviors towards her and it makes me wonder if she will be their mate. It's not common for wolves to be mated to humans and even less common for Alphas let alone Alpha twins but it does happen on occasion. The Moon Goddess Selene really does like to keep things interesting.
According to my mate and Luna, Ari, who was a part of the Moonshade Pack, Alexander's and Asher's pack, The Twins and Ellie have been joint at the hip since they accidentally stumbled across her and her family in their wolf forms as pups. She doesn't know it but apparently she is almost always with them.
Her family owns a wolf dog sanctuary and that is where they took the twins when they were in their wolf forms. Ari and the twins' mother, Luna Mari started working there a year after they were "rescued" to help the boys keep our werewolf secret. Ari told me that when Ellie is not at the sanctuary with the twins in their wolf forms she is with the twins in their human forms at school or hanging out at one another homes. It's quite the double life the twins have but it's honestly for the best after what happened to their pack and father five and half years ago.
As the countdown to midnight happens I keep an eye on the three. As soon has the clock strikes twelve I notice the slightest change in the twins, I can tell they immediately started mindlinking so I am sure something happened. I'm just not sure what. AfterLuna Mari's speech I head over to the twins and congratulate them on coming of age. A few other wolves come over to do the same and as soon as they are distracted enough I notice Ellie slip away to go sit down at the table. Shortly after I see one of my pack members walk towards her.
'Great, that slut of a she-wolf is gonna start problems we are going to have to clean up.' My lovely Luna mind links me. I guess she saw it too. I chuckled at her very un-Luna like comment. She's never liked Jasmine and I honestly don't blame her.
When Ari and I first found out we were mates she came to my pack to start to familiarize herself with pack life again after being away from it for so many years. Unlike most werewolf couples we didn't mark and mate each other the same night, even though both my wolf and I desperately wanted to, we decided to do the human thing and started dating, partly because it would have roused suspicion in the humans if Ari just up and left after meeting me and partly because her family was a part of the human world for three years at that point and they needed to readjust to pack life. When Ari came for her first overnight visit with her siblings, Jasmine was in my office wearing a skirt that barely covered her ass and a button up shirt that she had unbuttoned and tied a knot at the bottom, think Brittany Spears' outfit from that one music video. I was focused on my paperwork, telling her I was not interested in a chosen mate because 1. I found my mate and her Luna and 2. No dignified Luna would dress the way she was. Ari heard the conversation and her wolf took over and burst through the door nearly killing Jasmine. It took both myself and my Beta to drag her off her and the Gamma had to take Jasmine to the infirmary while I calmed my mate down.
'I'll tale care of it. Besides I want to meet Ellie. You tell me so many great things about her and if my hunch is correct she will be the twins mate.'
'If you can't handle her let me know, I will gladly put her in her place again.'
As I walk closer I hear Jasmine screetch out.
"You think you're so special because the Alpha twins gave you attention all night?"
"Excuse me?" Ellie asks incredulously.
"You heard me!" Jasmine screeches some more, "You think you are so special because the Alpha twins spent the whole night with you? Well I have news for you, you are nothing but a lousy, pathetic, weak human girl and there is no way you will be their Luna."
"Wow. Look," Ellie says, looking Jasmine up and down, "tramp, Alex and Ash are my best friends, so what if they decided to spend time with me, it's what they have always done since they first moved here. It's typically what friends do, they hangout with one another. I'm sorry if you were offended because they didn't want to give you the time of day but at the same time I am not sorry. The twins have always been repulsed by desperate chicks trying to get with them, especially if it's for the wrong reasons, so take your bitchy self somewhere else. I don't have time for immature behavior."
I chuckle to myself at Ellie's response. Ari is right, I can tell by this one statement alone she is awesome and if she is the twins mate she will make an amazing Luna just like my Ari. I'm about to link my mate my thoughts just as I hear Jasmine's screetch get louder.
"You little.." She starts and raises her hand to slap Ellie when I reach out and catch her wrist and command.
"Jasmine, go home, you have proven you are not," I pause looking for the right words, "elegant enough to be a Luna, even if the twins wanted a chosen mate, they wouldn't choose you based on your behavior and attire here tonight. Now go, I will speak FULLY with you tomorrow in my office about this incident." I give her a pointed look that lets her know she is in a heap of trouble.
"Yes Alpha," Jasmine says tilting her head in submission and leaves but not before giving Ellia a look that says this isn't over. She's in for a rude awakening if ahe thinks I will let her behavior slide. I turn back towards Ellie.
"Sorry about her. She has always been a gold digger type. She thinks if she tries hard enough she will land an up and coming leader." I shake my head with a slight chuckle. "You must be Ellie, I'm Jaydon. I have heard a lot about you." I reach out my hand for her to shake.
Taking it, she responds, "It's fine, I've delt with girls like her since I hit puberty. Always think they deserve more than anyone else just because they hit the lottery with looks. Unfortunately looks don't replace personality. Nice to meet you. Yes I am Ellie, I think I saw you around a few times before Ari moved away, are you why she moved?"
"Yeah that would be me." I answer with amusement. I like her. I can tell she's hung around my girl a time or two. She's like a younger version of Ari and it makes me smile. I do hope the Moon Goddess blesses the twins with her.
We have a conversation about Alphas and Lunas explained in a way that would make sense to humans. Even if I wanted to tell her the actual truth by werewolf law I can't unless she's a wolf's mate and even then unless that wolf is my pack it's not my place. The twins join us and we keep the conversation going until it's clear that Ellie is tired.
After they drop her off, we meet in the woods for the moonlight run. I congratulate them again and we briefly talk about their future training plans. I know originally they wanted to do some mate balls the weekends they come to train but I'm unsure if that is still their plan so we will discuss everything at a later date.
