Chapter 20 - Netherworld!

The space before them twisted and they appeared in a white space.

"Is this the Netherworld?"

Feng Bo looked around in confusion.

He wasn't the only one, as everyone turned to see a massive white space they had appeared in.

"Oh! Newcomers are here again so soon!" Just when they regained their bearings, a voice sounded that caught everyone's attention.

Raising their heads, a burly man appeared in their line of sight, standing on a high platform. Had the man not spoken, none of them would have even detected his presence.

It was just that the burly man had a bloodthirsty demonic aura condensed around him from too much killing.

Some inner disciples retreated just after a glance from the man. Most however remained unfazed by this, but just grew alarmed at his presence.

"Hmm! Not bad! Compared to the last batch, I see a lot of potential in you guys." The burly man praised with a slight smile.

The man was looking around, before his gaze landed on a youth holding a saber. It appeared unremarkable, but the more he looked the familiar it seemed. He then turned to the purple token floating by his waist feeling something was very wrong.

"Who is this young man? How is he related to that little demoness from back then? Don't tell me another mad man has entered the underworld and is about to stir up chaos. No! Let's observe first." He thought silently as he retracted his eyes.

While the man was watching Wang Li, Wang Li was observing the black lanterns floating all over the white space.

The lanterns were very strange as he looked at them and felt as though what was powering them wasn't any fuel, but rather resentful ghosts.

"Cough! Cough!"

Shaking his head, he turned back to the middle-aged man on the raised platform coughing to attract their attention.

"In the next period of time we shall be compatriots in this place. Some of you have never been to the Netherworld, so I'll give you a brief." The middle-aged man said as he looked at the group of inner disciples.

"The Netherworld is different from what you are used to. In this place everything can only be obtained from killing the Netherworld creatures. Of course even if you don't kill them, they will kill you. To them, you are considered a great tonic just as they are resources to us." The words of the middle-aged man attracted everyone's attention.

Listening to him, even Wang Li was wondering what he would say next.

"The arrangement by the sect is simple. Each of you can form a group of five to hunt down netherworld creatures or join the army to meet them on the battlefield."

The middle-aged man looked at the disciples present, and asked, "Those entering the battlefield should exit the hall through the left, while those forming a team to hunt netherworld demons take the left."

When he finished talking, the left and right sides of the halls erupted in a loud rumbling voice, as nassive doors opened.

Wang Li didn't even hesitate for a moment as his figure blurred heading straight for the battlefield.

Before coming to this place he had no idea of options to venture out through teams and entering the battlefield.

But after he heard of the options, his mind was already titling towards the battlefield. He was sure his advantage lay in the battlefield rather than other places.

Enemies gathered together were far more pleasing to the eye than those hidden.

His needs for resources couldn't be met by conventional methods.

When others reacted, his figure was already at the right door. Before they could say anything, he Vanished through the door.

"What is the deal with that outer disciple? He just ventured in the battlefield without a second thought. Doesn't he understand that it is very dangerous there."

The outer and inner disciples gathered together didn't show any signs of going to the battlefield. But just then a woman from within the outer disciples walked out towards the battlefield.

"Huh? Another one, and it is an inner disciple?" Watching her actions, someone couldn't help but exclaim.

"What is the battlefield really like? Why are those two rushing over there?" Some inner disciple that hadn't been to the Netherworld before couldn't help but ask.

"Don't mention it. That place is a grinding machine that uses inner disciples as cannon fodder. Most of those that gain the most in the Netherworld enter the battlefield but also most of the deaths are from the battlefield." The older inner disciple explained with a sneer.

Meanwhile, Wang Li passed by the door only to discover a massive building situated just on the left.

MILITARY REGISTRATION!

The building had words written on the front with strong pressure, clearly the work of some strong figure.

He turned his head in another direction and was impressed to see massive numbers of disciples entering and exiting ships.

Massive ships were situated in the distance and figures were going up and down. Looking at the uniform they had on, Wang Li sighed slightly before walking towards the building with a sign.

"It seems that the number of inner disciples in the sect is far massive than I thought!" Wang Li thought silently.

He could already see hundreds of disciples gathered on the side of the ship.

Now that he thought about it, the nine peaks each seemed to gave their own opportunities. If each of them had some inner disciple opportunity present then it would be very terrifying.

With the vast number of inner disciples, the power of the Spirit Stream Sect could already be seen when compared to any of the forces he had seen in the mortal world.

Wang Li felt he had to work harder. Just being an inner disciple was far from enough. The opportunities in the sect could only be obtained if be worked far harder than others.

At the current moment, he was far from enough. He had also to avoid crushing with the protagonists of this world. This was why he chose to enter the battlefield, a dangerous place. He could gain resources faster, as his master told him killing Netherworld creatures was equivalent to gathering resources.

He knew his situation far better than anyone. Only a vast quantity of resources were able to allow him to improve.

"Junior brother!" Just as his figure was about to take a step into the Registration hall, a female voice sounded behind.

Turning his head he looked at the person that had called him, but he only gave her a glance before walking into the hall.

He didn't know her, and secondly, he didn't understand why an inner disciple was smilling at him as though they were friends.

Watching Wang Li decisively enter the Battlefield Registration, the female disciple's smile froze.

"He just ignored me like that? Doesn't he even stop to ask why I called him?" The female disciple had a strange expression on her face.

Inside the Registration hall, Wang Lu discovered a small group. He didn't waste time and walked into a line.

He didn't care about the person calling him, because he didn't know her.

When it was finally his turn, he approached the counter, and was stunned to see a bamboo striped puppet.

The moment he appeared, it didn't even waste words and asked, "Name?"

"Wang Li!"

"Disciple status?"

"Outer disciple?"

"Reason for entry?"

"Inner disciple promotion!"

"Take this and locate your ship." The puppet only asked him a few questions, making him confused.

Deep inside he was wondering, 'That's it?'

It was just that he failed to understand the reasons. Most people didn't want to enter the battlefield and even for inner disciples, it was just due to it being a mission from the sect.

Since he was volunteering, the process wasn't complicated.

He walked out with the bamboo card he had been given, feeling completely different.

When he finally reached the exit, the female inner disciple was waiting.

"Junior brother!" She greeted him.

Wang Li looked at the woman strangely.

"What do you Want from me?" He went straight to the point. He didn't believe this woman came to him just to offer greetings.

"Does the junior brother want to team up?" She asked with her gaze intentionally or unintentionally falling on the purple token, with pink strips hanging by his waist.

"Sorry! But are we close?" He asked politely, but the question wasn't polite in any way.

When she heard this, the woman's smile froze. Wang Li looked at her suspiciously as he made hands signs as though defending against his body as he walked away hurriedly.

When she finally couldn't see him, she snapped. "Damn! What is the deal with this junior brother? He actually thinks I have bad intentions for approaching him?" She wanted to shout at him, but then realized she was acting suspicious.

She then looked around, realizing there wasn't anyone that had seen her, she entered the Registration hall.

Meanwhile, Wang Li had already walked all the way to the ship's parking area.

He located the right ship and without wasting time, he also went to que just like everyone else, but who would have thought in just a few minutes the female inner disciple appeared again.

Wang Li didn't bother answering any of her questions, until finally when it was time to board.

"Junior brother! How about staying in the same room to get familiar with each other." She said this to Wang Li with a smile.

It was just that when Wang Li turned back, his gaze was emotionless.

"I thought I told you to scram!" The tone was calm, but it carried strong murderous intent. Those around all felt the illusion Heaven and Earth had turned crimson in color.

The word scram was imbued with saber intent that radiated outwards towards the female inner disciple slamming into her mind, causing her to be thrown off the ship and pass out.

But Wang Li didn't even glance at her, as he walked off casually as though he had just thwarted off an anoying fly.

Watching his figure disappear into the ship, some disciples couldn't help but feel dread. It was shocking that an outer disciple could be that terrifying.
