I am Norbu from Bhutan working in United Arab Emirates. It has been two years since I came here looking for a job and started my career journey in an ice cream company. Life seems to go on spontaneously like a routine predestined, going to work, selling ice-cream, meeting new people, back home, calling my family and so on. All I dreamed about was to make enough money, help my families, build a house to retire, raise kids like all normal people do but what I earned was only enough to survive myself.
The company I work for was a new brand and the sales was less than everyone's expectation, so it can be said that seventy percent of my time in work is waiting for customers. So it means I am literally free besides waiting. I used to spent my time watching tiktok videos, joining live, posting videos, watching movies in YouTube, trying out new apps, and scrolling on Facebook. All these helped me spent my spare time both in work and at home.
After two years of monotonous routine, I got bored and took a break from all those platforms. That's when I felt overwhelmed with calmness, no thoughts, no worries, no phone, just pure sense of calmness, pure joy that I had never experienced in life. I wished I could be in this state forever and that's when different questions popped up in my mind and the joy I felt from the calmness dissappeard with the appearance of thoughts.
