Chapter 61 - Chapter 61

  Chapter 61 Shinobu's Challenge

Kanae and Shinobu come from a family of pharmacists and possess exceptional medical skills.

After joining the Demon Slayer Corps, they founded the Butterfly House, where, in addition to hunting demons, they also treat injured Demon Slayer Corps members.

The Butterfly House is now the most important medical institution within the Demon Slayer Corps.

Kanae is the owner of the Butterfly House, Shinobu assists her sister in treating the wounded, and a girl named Aoi Kanzaki serves as a nurse.

Not long ago, Kanae and Shinobu took in a little girl named Kanao Tsuyuri, who currently lives at the Butterfly House.

Besides them, there are also some members of the "Kakuna" who help out.

The "Kakuna" are a special organization within the Demon Slayer Corps, composed of members without combat talent, responsible for post-battle cleanup and other support.

Although Aoki already knew this information, he listened attentively to Kanae's introduction and finally said, "Then I'll be bothering you for the next while."

According to his agreement with Kagaya Ubuyashiki, he would temporarily stay at the Butterfly House while awaiting information from the Demon Slayer Corps.

"Mr. Aomura is my savior, don't be so polite!"

Kanae Kochō smiled and waved to Shinobu Kochō and the others who were walking towards them.

"This is my younger sister, Shinobu Kochō, you've already met her, the rest..."

Kanae Kochō introduced Aoki and the main members of the Butterfly Mansion to each other.

Aoi Kanzaki was busy, so she said goodbye and left.

Kanao Tsuyuri sat quietly to the side with a smile, like a delicate doll without any self-awareness.

Shinobu Kochō, who knew some things, inquired about the meeting between Aoki and Kagaya Ubuyashiki.

Upon hearing the result of their sparring match, Shinobu Kochō couldn't help but exclaim, "What? Sister, even with all five of you working together, you still lost?"

"Not only did we lose, but we lost badly!" Kanae Kochō said truthfully.

Shinobu Kochō looked at Aoki, her small face full of shock.

She knew that Mr. Aomura was strong, but she hadn't felt it deeply before.

Only after connecting it with the Pillars she knew did she have a clear concept.

This had a great impact on her mind.

Suddenly, Shinobu Kochō stood up, staring intently at Aoki: "Mr. Aomura, may I also feel your power?"

  "Shinobu!" Kanae Kochō said softly.

"It's alright, I'm happy to spar with strong people! Not only today, but as long as I still live here, you can come to me anytime you want to spar."

Aoki then looked at Kanae Kochō and said, "Miss Kanae, and you and the other Pillars, you are always welcome to challenge me!"

Kanae Kochō's eyes lit up: "Really? Mr. Aomura, wouldn't this be too much of a bother for you?"

  "Yes!" Aoki nodded.

Unlike most demons who rely on Blood Demon Art and instinct to fight, the Pillars' techniques are honed through countless trials, and their skills are extremely refined.

Sparring with them would greatly benefit him in refining his combat system.

"Then on behalf of the Demon Slayer Corps, I thank Mr. Aomura!" Kanae Kochō said solemnly.

To be able to fight a strongman like Mr. Aomura without being in mortal danger was an extremely precious opportunity.

Moreover, it would allow the Pillars to adapt to the strength of the Upper Moons, giving them a better chance of survival if they were to encounter them in the future.

  The cold moonlight shone down.

In the open space in the middle of the Butterfly Mansion,

Aoki and Shinobu Kochō stood facing each other.

Kanae Kochō and Kanao Tsuyuri stood in front of the door, watching the two in the courtyard.

"Mr. Aomura, are you sure you don't need to take out the poison?" Shinobu Kochō asked seriously.

"It's alright, bring it on!" Aoki said.

  "Then I won't hold back!"

A flame seemed to rise in Shinobu Kochō's eyes: "Dance of the Bee Fangs, True Strike!"

The specially made longsword transformed into a black light, rapidly stabbing towards Aoki's face, its tip flashing with a pale blue light.

Her speed was extremely fast, and this move also had the effect of surprise. Since she mastered it, no demon had been able to dodge it.

However, Aoki merely tilted his head slightly.

The sword's edge grazed his face as he took a step forward and gently pushed her away.

  Bang!

Shinobu Kochō was sent flying, sliding a short distance after landing before stopping. She looked up at Aoki, her expression extremely grim.

  "It's happening again!"

Kanae Kochō stared intently at Aoki.

During their previous fight, she'd sensed that Mr. Aomura always accurately predicted their moves, even anticipating their every move.

Now, as an observer, this feeling was even stronger.

  "Let's continue!" Aoki beckoned.

Shinobu Kochō took a deep breath. He was indeed strong, but she wouldn't give up so easily.

  "Centipede Dance, Centipede Belly."

  Thump thump thump!

Shinobu leaped forward, each landing sending the ground pounding, the sound like drums echoing through the courtyard, carrying a terrifying aura.

Unfortunately, in the transparent world, all her movements were exposed.

  Clang clang clang!

The two clashed rapidly, their figures blurring under the cover of night.

With a thud, a tremendous force surged forth, and Shinobu Kochō lost her grip, her sword flying from her hand.

  "Damn it!"

she thought, her pupils suddenly shrinking.

A fist appeared, rapidly enlarging, instantly filling her entire field of vision.

  No!

  "I'll die!

  I'll definitely die!

Quick! Quickly find a way to block it, or dodge it!

  No! There's no way!"

Shinobu Kochō instinctively closed her eyes.

  Boom!

A gust of wind swept past, ruffling her hair.

Shinobu Kochō opened her eyes blankly, looking at the fist hovering in front of her nose, memories flooding back.

She had almost forgotten that this was just a sparring match.

  Aoki withdrew his fist.

  "That's enough!"

Shinobu Kochō stared blankly at him.

She wasn't surprised that she had lost.

Even the five Pillars combined weren't a match for Mr. Aomura, how could she possibly win on her own?

However, she hadn't expected to lose so badly.

"No wonder he said there was no need to remove the poison." Shinobu Kochō's expression was complicated.

From beginning to end, she hadn't been able to harm her opponent in the slightest, not even having a chance to inject the poison.

Aoki praised, "Although your strength is a bit lacking, your speed is quite good, especially your thrusts, which are even faster than some Pillars."

Because of her petite stature, Shinobu Kochō lacks wrist strength and isn't adept at slashing, but her downward thrusts and lunges are very powerful (original assessment).

Combined with poison, her combat ability is outstanding.

She's a representative of someone weak in strength but powerful in combat.

  "Thank you!"

Shinobu Kochō's expression remained serious as she silently picked up her longsword, her back looking somewhat aggrieved and forlorn.

"Was I too heavy-handed?" Aoki stroked his chin.

Shinobu Kochō is only 14 years old now, her face still very childish.

He felt like he was bullying a child.

"Mr. Aomura, please don't mind, that's just Shinobu's personality," said Kanae Kochō. Aoki shifted his attention: "

Miss Kanae, would you like to try it too?"

  "Sure!" Kanae Kochō readily agreed.

A moment later, in the courtyard of the Butterfly Mansion, the battle resumed.
