Chapter 46 - The Truth Behind The Eight Legends

Milan and the others slowly got to their feet. As they looked ahead, they saw an old wooden hut standing quietly before them. It looked ancient, weathered by countless centuries, yet strangely untouched by time. A cold breeze swept past them as they instinctively gathered together.

"Did anyone else notice, or is it just me? All the wounds and scars on my hands have disappeared," Zero said, staring at his palms in disbelief.

"Yeah… mine too," Scarlet replied as she examined her own hands.

"It was a test," Milan said calmly.

"The only way to get into this place was to fall from the mountain."

"You knew about this?" Dr. Patel asked as he slowly walked toward Milan.

"No, I didn't, I only figured it out while I was climbing. It was just… a feeling I had to trust."Milan answered honestly. Everyone looked at him in silence.

"So… we're here?" Nutaila asked.

"Yes," Milan replied.

"All we have to do now is walk inside."

"It's a very tiny hut, Do you really think all of us will fit in there?"Raven said, looking at it suspiciously.

"Believe me," Milan answered with a faint smile.

"It may look tiny from the outside, but inside… it's much bigger."

"Well then, After you."Ayanna smiled.

Milan nodded before leading the group toward the hut. As he reached the old wooden door, he gently pushed it open. The rusty hinges let out a long creak that echoed through the silent forest.

One by one, they stepped inside before Milan quietly closed the door behind them. The moment they entered, they froze. The inside was enormous.

The hut was impossibly larger than it appeared from the outside, stretching far beyond what should have been possible. Shelves filled with ancient books lined the walls. Strange cultic tools, mysterious artifacts, glass bottles containing unknown substances, and old ceremonial weapons were scattered throughout the room.

Mounted high above the fireplace hung the preserved head of a deer, its empty eyes staring endlessly into the room.

Ancient writings covered nearly every wall, written in languages none of them could recognize. Candles burned without melting, filling the room with a faint golden glow while the scent of herbs and old parchment lingered in the air.

"This place is wild," Raven muttered.

"Thank you. I'll take that as a compliment." They all spun around.

Standing behind them was an incredibly old woman. Her long silver hair reached almost to the floor, and although her eyes were completely white, she walked confidently toward them without hesitation. Zero waved both hands directly in front of her face.

"I am blind, you pathetic idiot!" the old woman snapped.

"Move your ass out of my way." Zero immediately stepped aside. Ayanna couldn't help smiling while Nutaila covered her mouth to stop herself from laughing. The Wise slowly walked until she stood directly in front of Milan.

"So… you managed to bring them all here?" she asked.

"Just as you asked, But we brought three extra people with us."Milan replied.

"You mean apart from the six?" the Wise asked calmly.

"My God…" Zero whispered to Ayanna.

"She can actually see us."

"Of course I can, you dimwit," the Wise shouted without even turning toward him. Zero immediately looked away in embarrassment.

"So what was all that about back there? The mountain… the rain… the climbing… all of those trials?"Scarlet asked.

The Wise deliberately avoided looking directly at Scarlet's face, as though something about her made even the ancient woman uncomfortable.

"Is that really the question that brought you here, Scarlet?" she asked coldly. Scarlet frowned.

"Sit down, all of you." The moment those words left her mouth, seven wooden chairs suddenly appeared from nowhere. Before any of them could react, they found themselves sitting on the chairs.

Everyone's eyes widened.

"What…?" Raven whispered.

"So," the Wise said as she picked up an ancient sand timer and carefully placed it upright on the table.

"Let's begin." She turned the hourglass over.

Golden sand slowly began falling from the upper chamber.

"What are you doing?" Milan asked.

"It's a timer," the Wise answered calmly.

"Once every grain of sand reaches the bottom… my time will come to an end." Silence filled the room.

"So if I were you, I would ask your questions quickly."she continued

"Tell us everything you know about the Crimson Origin," Scarlet immediately asked. The Wise finally looked toward her.

"That…will be the very last thing I tell you."she replied quietly Scarlet clenched her fists but remained silent.

"Then why us? Why me and my sister? What did we ever do to deserve this punishment? All we've ever wanted was to live like everyone else."Milan asked. The Wise smiled gently.

"I believe Nutaila already told you the story passed down through the centuries, what happened after Dracula. Your family carries the Pure Blood, passed down through generation after generation. It isn't something you get to choose, Milan. Now let me tell all of you something." She slowly looked at each of them.

"Every one of the seven of you has a purpose. Each of you carries an important responsibility. When humanity is finally restored… history will remember you as the Seven Flying Legends. Your names were written in ancient books long before any of you were born. Your purpose, Your destiny, Your future… All of it was recorded thousands of years ago. Back then, people refused to believe such a prophecy could ever come true. And yet, Here you are."

The room became completely silent.

"When I look at each of you," the Wise continued,

"I see your destiny." She turned toward Ayanna.

"Ayanna… the Pure Blood. You were born carrying the sacred blood of your ancestors. Your blood can do far more than simply heal. Anyone who tries to steal it by force will become something far worse than a monster. Centuries ago, before Victor was defeated, there was a group that kidnapped the Pure Blood. They believed they could use her blood for themselves. Eventually, They drank it. Instead of becoming stronger, they transformed into creatures more horrifying than any monster the world had ever seen. They disappeared. No one has ever seen them again. You are humanity's first hope." The Wise then looked at Nutaila and Scarlet.

"Nutaila… Scarlet… The two of you are vampire hunters descended from the ancient bloodlines.

The swords you carry were forged using the sacred blood of your ancestors. The greatest swordsmiths of ancient Japan believed those weapons would one day save the future. Only those strong enough can wield their true power. Your family's destiny has always been to fight beside the Pure Blood.

Your task is to ensure that humanity is restored.

But…" She paused.

"You are not merely vampire hunters. There is something else sleeping inside both of you. I will explain that later." Her gaze shifted toward Milan.

"Milan… You were born into the family of the Pure Blood, You were never meant to become what you are today. But the Vessel chose you as its host for a reason. You are far more powerful than you realize. I saw what happened when you attempted to enter the Crimson Dimension. You suffered the consequences of challenging a power you did not yet understand. What lives inside you is the very power capable of awakening Victor Valois and restoring his heart. The only key capable of reviving him, is the Vessel. You have gained remarkable control over it. Well done. But the day will come when you will have no choice but to betray your friends, your purpose and your destiny.

There will come a day when every one of your friends will be forced to fight against you. Victor may appear dead now, but he has plans for the future. Especially for you. He may already possess the Witcher, the Herald, the Vision, the Walker, and the Binder but the Vessel, The Vessel is his one true successor. Which means, that successor is you. And when that day comes, you will have no choice but to obey him." An uneasy silence settled over the room. The Wise slowly turned toward Dr. Patel.

"Doctor… I still do not know how, but your name was written into history as well. You are the only person capable of helping restore humanity. Your destiny is to stand beside the Pure Blood and continue your research. Only you possess the knowledge required to study her blood and understand its formulas, You have no supernatural powers, No incredible strength, Yet you are one of the most important people in this room. That is why they must protect you with their lives." She then faced Zero.

"Zero… You are the first vampire hunter whose strength was granted directly by the Gods themselves. You inherited nothing. The Gods chose you. They favored you for a reason. You also carry the Pure Blood, because once… you drank it while you were still a vampire." Ayanna's eyes widened in complete shock. Everyone immediately turned toward Zero.

"Ooh…" the Wise smiled. "He never told you?" Zero looked down awkwardly.

"Yes, He was once a vampire. He returned to life after drinking Ayanna's blood. Zero… your true powers will awaken the moment you finally believe in yourself."

Finally, the Wise looked toward Raven.

"And you… Raven, You are the last prophecy." Raven swallowed nervously.

"The ancient books declared long ago that you would become the next Wise. You are destined to replace me. I have lived for five thousand and twenty-five years… waiting for you. You will become the first Wise in history who is also a vampire slayer. That has never happened before."

She slowly looked around at every one of them.

"So understand this, None of you met by accident. It was never coincidence. It was fate. Fate brought all seven of you together. Because together, you have a destiny that must be fulfilled."

As the final words left her lips, another stream of golden sand slipped silently through the ancient hourglass, reminding everyone that time was slowly running out.

"You said I will betray my friends? How is that possible? Will I do it without a choice?" Milan asked, his voice filled with disbelief.

"You will do it willingly, No one will force you."the Wiser answered calmly.

A heavy silence fell over the group.

"What about me?, What about the Herald?"Nutaila asked next.

"You overcame his control a long time ago, ever since you were a child," the Wiser replied.

"Even if the Herald awakens now, he will never be able to take control of your body again. That is why he will eventually be forced out of you and return to his original form. However, when that happens, he will leave with every power you are currently using. You will lose those abilities, and one day you will have to face him in battle."

Nutaila's eyes widened in surprise. She lowered her head, trying to process everything she had just heard.

"What about me?" Zero asked in shock.

"How can I already have the powers you mentioned? When will I receive them?"

The Wiser smiled faintly.

"You have already received them. You simply do not know how to use them yet. Stop searching for them outside yourself. Believe in yourself, and when the time comes, they will answer you."

Zero stood silently, unable to say another word.

"You mentioned something called the Seven Flying Legends," Dr. Patel asked. She had been sitting quietly behind everyone, listening carefully to every word.

"What did you mean? Who are the Seven?" The Wiser slowly turned toward her.

"I believe… you have already met Velmora." The words struck everyone like lightning.

"What!?" Nutaila and Zero shouted at the exact same time.

"You're joking… right?" Zero asked, staring at her in disbelief. The Wiser slowly shook her head.

"No. Velmora is the Seventh Flying Legend. She was chosen long ago, and her power is far greater than any of you can imagine. She carries a history unlike any other. She cannot age… and the people she once trusted betrayed her." The room became completely silent as the Wiser began telling Velmora's forgotten story.

"Before she had a name, she was simply a woman who listened. She lived in a city that had been built far too quickly. Every year its walls grew higher, while its people were taught to fear everything they could not see. She served as the keeper of records and the watcher of doors and endless corridors. It was her duty to observe what passed through them… and what never should have. While others slept peacefully, she remained awake. She listened to footsteps in empty halls, She counted the breaths of strangers, She memorized the way silence changed moments before something terrible happened. People believed she noticed disasters before they occurred. Then the disappearances began, People vanished from locked rooms without explanation. Voices echoed from deep inside solid stone, Shadows moved where no light existed. The elders convinced themselves that the city's walls had become cursed. Instead of accepting responsibility for what they had done, they searched desperately for someone else to blame. They chose her, They called it an honour, They lied. Deep beneath the city, where ancient stone stretched farther than anyone could remember, they carved a chamber with no windows and only a single narrow entrance. Every wall was covered with ancient symbols meant to imprison something that could not be seen. They claimed the ritual required a witness. Someone whose senses had already been trained to observe without ever being observed.

So they sealed her inside. The ritual failed. The walls did not imprison the curse.

Instead, They listened to her. As the chanting grew louder and the glowing symbols burned into the stone, the chamber absorbed everything she was her fear, her awareness, her loneliness, and her refusal to look away. The walls closed around her.

They did not crush her, They accepted her. Her body became weightless. The color drained from her skin. Her scream never echoed through the chamber. Instead, It spread through every wall of the city. Days later, when the elders finally reopened the chamber, there was no body left behind. Only perfectly smooth stone. But that very night… The walls whispered. Eyes opened where no faces should ever exist. The corridors stretched farther than they should have. Every corner felt occupied by something unseen. The city soon realized that something now lived between its walls. Something aware, Something patient, Something unfinished. Only after she began answering those who heard the whispers did they finally give her a name. "Velmora" Not born, Not dead, Not bound. A watcher made from listening.

A woman whom the walls refused to release. And ever since that day, Stone remembers her."

Not a single person spoke. The only sound inside the room was the slow countdown of the timer as everyone silently absorbed the terrifying story they had just heard. Even Milan found himself unable to say anything. Nutaila stared at the floor. Zero remained frozen in disbelief.

Dr. Patel quietly adjusted her glasses, struggling to understand whether what she had just heard was history… or something far older. As the timer neared its end, the Wiser slowly turned her head.

For the very first time, She looked directly at Scarlet.

The instant their eyes met, a mysterious energy began flowing out of Scarlet's body. Thin streams of crimson light slowly drifted through the air and entered the Wiser's eyes. Scarlet remained perfectly still. She didn't seem to notice anything happening. The others watched in complete silence as the strange energy continued to flow.

A few moments later, the Wiser's damaged eyes began to heal before everyone. The scars faded, The cloudiness disappeared. Her vision returned.

As the final strand of crimson energy vanished, her eyes looked completely normal once again.

The room fell into an even deeper silence than before.

"You wanted to know about the Crimson Origin… about your true power," the Wiser said softly as she looked directly at Scarlet.

"Then listen to me very carefully." The room became completely silent.

"Before Scarlet had a name… before blood learned to remember her pulse… power already existed.

Not as fire, Not as darkness, But as law. In the First Age, when the world was still young and soft, when the mountains had not yet chosen their shapes and the oceans had not yet settled into their endless rhythm, there was a terrible imbalance between life and death. Life flourished without end.

Creatures were born endlessly, yet nothing truly died. Souls wandered the earth with nowhere to go. Time itself became congested. The universe slowly began to fracture beneath the unbearable weight of its own mercy. So existence answered itself. From the collision between every beginning and every ending, a force was born…"The Crimson Origin" It was never a god, It was never a monster, It was never even a living being. It was a will, A law given form, It was not created to rule, It was not created to destroy. It existed only to correct. Where life overflowed, it would cut it back. Where death lingered too long, it would claim what remained.

Balance was its only purpose. The first beings who encountered it gave it many names. The Red Silence, The Law That Bleeds, The Mercy That Kills. Yet the Crimson Origin could never act alone. It required a vessel. Its first hosts were gods—ancient, vast, and consumed by arrogance. Each believed they could command its power and reshape reality according to their own desires. Every one of them failed. The Crimson consumed them, Their bodies shattered, Their souls burned away. The Crimson Law rejected ownership. It demanded submission. Never control. After the gods came immortals. Then kings, Then witches, Then monsters. Each survived longer than the last.

Yet every one of them met the same fate. Madness, Decay, Annihilation. Power without restraint always ended in ruin. The universe learned an unforgettable lesson. This power could never belong to those who desired it.

So the Crimson Origin waited. It slept through countless ages. It watched mighty empires rise. Only to crumble into dust. It listened to endless prayers. It answered none of them. It searched not for strength… But for contradiction. Someone fragile enough to fear the power… Yet strong enough to endure it. That was when the bloodlines were created. Not by accident, But by design.

Small fragments of Crimson essence were scattered throughout humanity, diluted across countless generations too weak to awaken, too quiet to be noticed. Families rose, Families disappeared. Entire bloodlines ended without ever knowing what slept inside them. Many became corrupted, Others simply vanished. Only a handful survived. Among them, one bloodline carried the Crimson differently. It did not rest within their veins.

It hid inside their suffering, Pain sharpened it, Loss fed it, Love restrained it. And from that bloodline…

Scarlet was born. She was not chosen at birth, She was not marked by prophecy, She was not crowned by destiny.

She was…Ordinary. That, Was the universe's greatest mistake. As a child, the Crimson slept deep within her blood, sealed beneath innocence and fear. But every wound she suffered, Every betrayal she endured, Every silent scream she buried inside herself, Cracked the seal a little more.

The Crimson did not awaken all at once. It first learned her. It watched her restraint. It witnessed her refusal to become cruel despite the pain she carried. It admired her ability to suffer without making others suffer in return.

Then, Her true awakening came. Scarlet did not conquer the Crimson. She survived it. No vessel before her had ever done that. The Crimson Origin changed. Instead of forcing itself upon her, It reshaped itself around her. At first, it resisted.

Then slowly… It surrendered. Scarlet became the first vessel in existence who did not seek balance through destruction alone. She possesses the power to erase worlds if she chooses.

But… She also possesses the power to spare them.

That terrified the universe. Because Scarlet is no longer merely a vessel of unimaginable power.

She had become… A choice. And choices threaten systems built upon inevitability.

One day, Powerful forces will rise to stop her, Gods will whisper her name in fear, Kings will plot against her, Immortals will dread her existence. Friends will abandon her. Love itself will become a weakness others will desperately try to exploit.

Every battle she fights, Every sacrifice she makes. Will carve the Crimson deeper into her soul…

Until no one—not even Scarlet herself—can tell where Scarlet ends… And where the Crimson begins. The Crimson Origin was never meant to live forever inside a single being. It was always meant to be a correction, Never a crown. To fulfill its final purpose. It must one day come to an end.

When Scarlet finally understands this, She will not fight fate, She will not beg for another path, She will not rage against destiny. Instead…

She will do what no vessel before her has ever accomplished. She will choose. How it ends.

By binding the Crimson Law to her own life, Scarlet will rewrite its final rule forever. No future vessel will ever exist, No bloodline will ever carry its power again, No god, No immortal, No monster, No king.

No one will ever claim the Crimson again.

When Scarlet falls, The Crimson will fall with her.

Its existence will dissolve back into the fabric of creation. No longer a weapon. No longer a law.

Only, Balance. That is how Scarlet's power was born. And that, Is why it can only die with her."

The Wiser fell silent.

No one spoke. The weight of her words settled over the hut like an invisible storm. Scarlet's entire body trembled, Her breathing became uneven as tears slowly gathered in her eyes. Without saying a word, Milan gently reached over and held her hand tightly. His grip was warm, Steady, Protective

His heart was racing.

"Is… is there any way to save her?" Milan finally asked, his voice barely above a whisper. The Wiser looked at Scarlet with deep sadness.

"The choice belongs to her alone," she replied quietly.

"One day she must decide. She may choose to sacrifice herself and restore balance to the world or she may choose to live, allowing countless others to continue suffering. She is the final step required to heal this broken world. That is why her power surpasses everything else. No god, No immortal, No monster, No force in existence has ever challenged the Crimson and prevailed."

Then the Wiser looked directly at Milan.

"And there is one more truth you deserve to know."

Everyone turned toward her.

"You are carrying a child. Milan's child. " She looked at Scarlet before continuing. Silence.

Complete silence. Milan's eyes widened in absolute shock. Everyone inside the hut stared at Scarlet in disbelief. Milan slowly looked toward her.

"Why…" he whispered.

"Why didn't you tell me?"

Scarlet wiped away the tears running down her cheeks.

"It's not important right now," she answered softly.

"We have to make sure we save the world first."

Unable to hold back her emotions any longer, she stood and quietly walked outside the hut.

Tears continued streaming down her face.Milan instinctively moved to follow her.

"Wait," the Wiser said gently. He stopped.

"Let her have this moment." Milan lowered his head and reluctantly stepped back. The Wiser smiled peacefully.

"I believe my time has finally come. I have answered every question you wished to ask."

"Now, The future belongs to all of you. Take care of one another. I shall watch over you as you fight to save this world. You may leave now."

Zero stood first. Without saying a word, he quietly walked toward the exit, Ayanna followed behind him.

Then Milan. Nutaila. Dr. Patel. One by one, they left the hut, Only Raven remained behind.

She slowly stood and approached the Wiser.

"Are you certain…" Raven asked nervously.

"…that I am truly the right person for this?"The Wiser smiled with complete confidence.

"Destiny is never wrong."

She gently placed both hands around Raven's.

Instantly, Raven's eyes began glowing with a beautiful silver-grey light. The Wiser smiled even wider.

"You will accomplish far more than I ever did during my long lifetime."

"You will become the perfect Wiser. And a great warrior. I hope you like, my final gift, little girl."

As she finished speaking, her body slowly began turning into glowing ashes. The ashes drifted peacefully into the air before disappearing completely. The Wiser was gone. Raven slowly opened her eyes. Resting on the floor before her were two magnificent swords. Each blade was engraved with the symbol of a unicorn.

They radiated a brilliant silver-grey light that illuminated the entire hut. Raven stared at them in amazement.

"Wow…" She carefully picked up the swords before walking outside. The moment she stepped through the doorway, she found everyone waiting for her.

Behind her, The hut slowly collapsed into dust. No one spoke. It was as though its purpose had finally been fulfilled. Zero broke the silence.

"So…What now, Wiser?" Raven looked down at the swords in her hands before smiling.

"I suppose we continue our journey." Zero folded his arms.

"We already knew that. But. How exactly are we supposed to leave this place?" Raven examined the swords carefully. A strange instinct suddenly filled her mind. Without hesitation, she unsheathed both blades. With one powerful motion, She drove them into the ground. A tremendous shockwave burst outward, A massive circle of brilliant white light expanded beneath everyone's feet, ancient symbols appearing around its edge.

The air itself shimmered.

"How did you do that?" Nutaila asked in astonishment. Raven blinked.

"I honestly don't know…" She looked at the glowing portal before smiling.

"But I think, This is our ticket home. Everyone, step inside." One after another, they entered the circle of light. The glowing symbols began spinning faster. The white light grew brighter until it consumed everything around them. A few moments later, They were gone.
