The morning light, like melted honey, slowly flowed down the tiled roofs of Pallet Town. Ash clapped his bulging backpack for the Nth time, the zipper groaning under the strain.

He stood on the steps with one hand on his hip, the tip of his nose touched by the morning light. The plane ticket to the Unova region was tucked into his pants pocket, its edges creased from his grip.

Pikachu squatted on top of the backpack, electric sparks crackling from the tip of his tail, his paws tugging at Ash's hair: "Pika Pika! (So excited!)"

The boy turned and grinned, his teeth gleaming white in the sunlight, the light in his eyes hotter than the rising sun on the horizon: "Unova, here I come!"

Today, Ash would once again take a brave step, embarking on a long journey to the distant Unova region, to begin a new Pokémon adventure filled with surprises and challenges.

"Mom, I'm off!"

Ash yelled at the top of his lungs, his heels barely lifting off the ground when he received a smack on the back of his head.

"Ow! Who was that!"

He clutched his head and turned, only to see Professor Oak standing at the door, briefcase in hand, his white beard askew with anger.

"You brat, you think your wings are hard now, huh? I told you, you never learn. I and Delia are also going to Unova this time. We'll be resting and vacationing while I'm there for an exchange. Our flights are all together. Why are you leaving first? Do you even know the way!"

Delia, who was busy stuffing medicine into the side pocket of Professor Oak's backpack, chuckled at his words, the fine lines around her eyes radiating warmth.

"Exactly, exactly, Ash, remember next time."

She reached out and ruffled Ash's messy hair, smiling with her hand lightly covering her face.

"I know, I know, I'll be careful next time."

Ash mumbled, rubbing the head that Professor Oak had attacked.

The Poké Balls hanging from Ash's waist also trembled incessantly; Ash's partners sensed what was happening outside and couldn't stop laughing.

"Pikachu, it's been a long time since we traveled with Mom. I'm really looking forward to it."

"Oh, right, Ash, those old fogeys in the League finally caved in." Professor Oak shook the approval document in his hand, his glasses glinting in the morning light.

"You can now carry seven Pokémon, which is almost the same as an Elite's setup." He paused, then suddenly lowered his voice: "Don't publicize this."

Ash's eyes lit up as he quickly counted the Poké Balls on his waist. The red Pikachu Ball, next to it were Tyranitar's heavy black Ball, Infernape's Poké Ball, Sceptile's Poké Ball with a sticker and the scent of grass... His fingertip brushed a rough-textured brown Ball, inside which Gabite slept, currently making the Ball vibrate with his sleep-talking.

"The remaining slots are for new friends from Unova!" Pikachu poked his wrist with his tail, golden electric sparks dancing in his palm; this level of electricity was completely harmless to Ash now.

Want to know how Professor Oak communicated?

Professor Oak: First, my disciple is extraordinarily talented and is already a quasi-Elite level trainer. In a few years, my disciple will definitely be an Elite level trainer, so it's perfectly fine to increase Ash's authority. Second, Ash is my disciple; third, Dragonite, go play with them.

To be certified as a trainer of a certain level, one must have eight Pokémon of that level.

League relevant official: You can clearly do it yourself. To avoid suspicion, aren't our lives important?

Charles Goodshow: I must agree. In a while, his father will be back. If I don't agree, I'm as good as dead.

This time, Ash brought Pikachu (quasi-Champion mid-stage), Tyranitar (Elite early-stage), Infernape (quasi-Elite peak), Sceptile (Elite mid-stage), Gabite (Gym mid-stage). The remaining two slots were reserved for new Pokémon.

This time, it could be said that Ash's usual style had changed, and Professor Oak also felt the growth of his disciple.

And so, the group of three set off for Unova!

"Flight 151 from Kanto is about to arrive!"

The announcer's voice came through.

Ash and Pikachu couldn't help but exclaim in surprise; they had reached a new region!

Just as Ash and Pikachu stepped onto land, dark clouds accompanied by lightning slowly approached from a distance.

Ash and Pikachu were both drawn in, their gazes uniformly fixed on it.

"Hey! Why are you hiding suspiciously behind the luggage pile?!" Ash suddenly turned around, Pikachu already baring his teeth and leaping onto his shoulder, his tail fluffed up like a feather duster.

A rustling sound of fabric rubbing came from the shadows, and three figures in black uniforms staggered out. The pink-haired woman leading them stood with her hands on her hips, her eyeshadow glinting dazzlingly in the evening sun.

"Since you asked so sincerely!"

"We will tell you with great compassion!"

"To prevent the world from being destroyed."

"To protect the peace of the world."

"We are the evil that embodies love and truth."

"Cute and charming villainous characters."

"Jessie!"

"James!"

"And me, Meowth!"

The cat-like Pokémon wearing sunglasses jumped onto the man's shoulder, his paw pressing the button on his belt with a snap.

With a "swish," pink bow capes popped out from behind the trio, but a gust of wind blew them, tangling them all together.

"Idiot Meowth! You pressed the wrong button!"

"You're the idiot! James's tie hooked my tail!"

A vein throbbed on Ash's forehead; he directly threw out a Poké Ball: "Tyranitar, don't listen to their nonsense!"

"Roar!"

The rock-armored behemoth landed with a crash, shaking the ground and cracking it into a spiderweb of fissures. Its chest heaved violently, and the yellow energy in its mouth swirled into a millstone-sized disk.

"Hyper Beam!"

The moment the beam of light erupted, Team Rockets' freshly posed formation was instantly scattered by the shockwave.

"Boom!" In the explosion, Jessie's high heel flew into the sky, James's roses scattered everywhere, and Meowth shrieked, clutching his head: "This feels awful!"

The pink hot air balloon crookedly caught their smoking bodies, like a marshmallow that had been hit and sent flying, and in the blink of an eye, it became a tiny black dot on the horizon.

Team Rockets' wails still echoed, the sky above was completely swallowed by inky thunderclouds, and before the large raindrops fell, the air was already thick like solidified asphalt.

"Pikachu!"

Before Ash finished speaking, the Pikachu in his arms suddenly had all his fur standing on end, his ears flattened back like an airplane's, and he let out a tearing Growl towards the thunderclouds.

"Pikachu!"

A golden Thunderbolt, like a furious giant python, shot towards the clouds, but exploded violently the moment it touched a dark silhouette.

It was a Pokémon with a divine outline, its wings spread several meters wide, edged with purple lightning, each feather like steel quenched in night.

The moment it looked down, Ash felt a cold pressure shoot from his spine to the crown of his head, his knees buckled, as if millions of tons of boulders were pressing on his shoulders.

The aura was ancient, like magma seeping from deep within the Earth's crust, mixed with the arrogance of thunder and the stillness of time.

The dark silhouette didn't even make a sound; it merely flapped its wings gently, carrying the thunderclouds and flying high into the sky, leaving behind the whistling sound of dust being swept up by the wind pressure, and the cold sweat continuously rolling down Ash's forehead.

Ash's heart was like a calm lake with a huge stone thrown into it, unable to find peace for a long time, standing there in a daze.

During his days of diligent study at Professor Oak's lab, he felt as if he had recognized the true identity of that dark silhouette.

"Professor Oak, I'm here to pick you up."

"Oh, it's Juniper."

Professor Juniper, a top Pokémon Professor in the Unova region, arrived at the airport to pick up Professor Oak and his party.

Professor Oak didn't care what else Ash was thinking; he just pulled Ash and Delia into the car.

Inside Professor Juniper's lab,

Ash was staring intently at the data panel. Professor Juniper had proactively offered to give Pikachu a full body check-up, and Ash readily accepted.

"Based on the tests conducted so far, Ash's Pikachu has not shown any problems."

Just then, a boy in an orange jacket with yellow hair entered the lab.

"Hello, I'm here to pick up my Pokémon."

The assistant nodded, motioned for the boy to wait, then walked into the lab to report to Professor Juniper.

"Professor, a new trainer is here to pick up his Pokémon."

"Oh, yes, there's a new trainer picking up a Pokémon today. Professor Oak, Ash, Ms. Delia, please excuse me for a moment."

"Alright."

Ash suddenly remembered the day he first met Pikachu, lamenting the passage of time.

Ash also followed Professor Juniper out to meet this new trainer.

"He is Ash from Pallet Town in the Kanto region."

"His name is Trip, a new trainer who will embark on his journey today."

Professor Juniper introduced with a smile.

The yellow-haired boy raised an eyebrow, his tongue pressing against his molars, and repeated: "Pallet Town?"

He looked Ash up and down, a hint of disdain curving his lips.

"I thought only unsophisticated bumpkins came from a place like that."

The air instantly solidified. Ash's eyes completely chilled, and he clenched his fists. Pikachu squatted on his shoulder, electric sparks bursting from his tail.

"Since you look down on Kanto so much,"

Ash took a deep breath, his voice very calm, "Then let's prove it with a Pokémon battle!"

On the battlefield, Snivy's Vine Whip cracked through the air, but Pikachu stumbled back half a step.

Ash's pupils constricted. He saw Pikachu's fur standing on end in strands, golden electricity erratically darting like an out-of-control spiderweb, leaving charred marks wherever it touched the ground.

"Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt..."

"Pika!" Pikachu suddenly covered his ears, his body trembling violently. The electricity that should have shot out instead leaked from the base of his tail with a "sizzle," splashing sparks on the ground.

He had clearly dodged Snivy's Tackle, yet he knelt on one knee as if struck by a heavy hammer, a burnt smell coming from his nose.

Pikachu endured the pain and knocked out Snivy with an Iron Tail.

"How could this happen?"

Ash rushed over and hugged Pikachu, feeling the violent tremors of his body in his palms.

Meanwhile, Trip on the opposite side frowned as he recalled Snivy, a hint of barely perceptible surprise and jealousy in his eyes.

"Tch, Kanto's Pikachu is nothing special after all."

Ash ran towards the lab, holding Pikachu.

"The energy in the thundercloud has overloaded." Professor Juniper stared at the monitor, her brows furrowed into a knot, the current index on the screen soaring madly. "Pikachu's body is like a reservoir that's about to burst. If this continues..."

Before she finished speaking, the glass dome of the lab was suddenly covered by a shadow.

Looking up, the inky thunderclouds churned like a living entity, countless purple lightning bolts, like giant pythons, shot down, and with a "crack," struck the lab's lightning rod!

"Pika!"

Pikachu suddenly arched his body, golden electricity spewing from every strand of his fur, forming an electric sphere several meters in diameter.

Ash was thrown back by the shockwave, watching helplessly as Pikachu's body flickered in and out of sight within the electricity, hearing Professor Oak and Professor Juniper's shouts:

"Quick! Activate the energy neutralization device!"

"This thundercloud... it's Zekrom!" Professor Juniper pointed at the huge dark silhouette on the screen, her voice trembling.

"The legendary Pokémon, why is it targeting Pikachu?!"

Lightning continued to strike, Pikachu's screams drowned out by the deafening thunder.

Ash struggled to get up, his palms slick with cold sweat. The Unova region adventure had stirred up an unprecedented storm from the very beginning.

The lightning continued to expand, and Pikachu's painful wails continued.

"Tyranitar, Sceptile, come out."

"Professor, the transfer device is still usable, right?"

"Yes."

Immediately, Ash rushed out of the laboratory with them, went to the Pokémon transfer machine, and urgently summoned Charizard, Snorlax, Blastoise, Venusaur, etc., from Kanto, sending Gabite and Infernape back.

"Dragonite, you go help Ash too. Steelix, you go too."

Professor Oak threw out two Poké Balls, calling out his old partners.

Undoubtedly, these two were both Champion-level Pokémon.

Ash thus arrived directly beneath the thundercloud, looking up. Their opponent was the Unova region's legendary Pokémon—Zekrom!
