Liu Kaize's mother was driving the car.
While keeping an eye on the surrounding vehicles, she spoke to Kaize, who was sitting in the back seat.
"Once you get to the new school, don't cause any trouble, understand?"
Kaize stared out the window and said nothing.
Kaize's mom glanced at him through the rearview mirror and continued,
"You're no different from your father."
Kaize looked at her with disdain and said,
"Then why did you fight for custody back then? In my opinion, it was just for the money."
His mother tightened her grip on the steering wheel.
"Watch your mouth. I'm warning you!"
After hearing that, Kaize turned his gaze back to the window.
After calming herself down, Kaize's mom forced a smile and said,
"When you get to the new school, make more friends and study hard, alright?"
Kaize still didn't respond.
The car drove into Korya Town.

Chapter One: Freak
The class bell rang, and the students returned to their seats.
Teacher Xu walked in with Kaize and said,
"Everyone, quiet down for a moment. I have an announcement. We have a new student joining our class today. Let's give him a round of applause."
At this moment, Gong Fanling said to Zhao Haoyi,
"Look at him—he's kind of cool."
Haoyi looked Kaize up and down and said,
"Just so-so. Still a bit worse than me."
Teacher Xu spoke from the podium,
"No talking in class."
Then she looked at Kaize and said,
"Go ahead and introduce yourself."
Facing the class, Kaize said,
"Hello everyone. My name is Liu Kaize, and I'm 14 years old."
Teacher Xu applauded and said,
"Alright. You can go sit in that empty seat at the back."
Kaize walked over, put down his backpack, and sat down.
Haoyi and Fanling turned around to look at Kaize, and Kaize looked back at them as well. Fanling waved at him, and Kaize smiled and waved back.
Before long, the bell rang for the end of class, and the students left the classroom.
After Kaize walked out, Fanling and Haoyi stood in front of him.
Fanling said,
"Let's get acquainted. My name is Gong Fanling."
He pointed to Haoyi beside him and continued,
"This is Zhao Haoyi. What about you?"
Kaize smiled and said,
"My name is Liu Kaize."
Fanling put an arm around Kaize's shoulder and said,
"Come on, let's go get something to eat."
The three of them headed to the cafeteria together.
The scene shifted to the cafeteria, where Zhang Yeey was sitting alone at a table eating. At that moment, Kaize walked past him. Yeey looked up at Kaize. When Kaize sensed Yeey staring at him, he turned his head to look back. Yeey lowered his head again, not looking up until Kaize was far away.
Soon, Kaize got his food and sat down.
Fanling smiled and said to him,
"Eat more. If it's not enough, you can get more."
Kaize asked in confusion,
"You can get more?"
Haoyi said,
"My dad owns this cafeteria. We can eat as much as we want."
Kaize smiled at them.
Just then, Chen Kai walked into the cafeteria and headed straight toward Yeey.
From a distance, Kaize watched him.
While Yeey was still eating, Chen Kai slammed Yeey's head into his food tray.
As he pressed down, he shouted,
"Eat yourself to death!"
Yeey struggled desperately, but everyone around just watched without helping. Kaize was about to step forward when Fanling pressed him back down.
After letting go, Chen Kai looked at the disheveled Yeey and said,
"Die, you gay!"
After that, he walked past Yeey. Yeey clumsily cleaned up the table.
When Chen Kai passed by Kaize, he glanced at him. Kaize stared back. Chen Kai then turned his head away, as if hiding something deep inside.
Kaize looked at Fanling and asked,
"Why did you stop me just now?"
Fanling lowered his voice and said,
"That guy's name is Chen Kai. He's the principal's son. If I hadn't stopped you, you'd probably be transferring schools again."
Kaize looked at Yeey from afar, as if he had made some kind of decision.
While Kaize was lost in thought, two girls suddenly stood in front of him. He stared at them blankly.
Haoyi stood up and introduced them,
"See? This is Shen Yanping, my girlfriend. And this one is Liu Ly—Fanling's secret crush."
Fanling lightly punched Haoyi in the chest and said shyly,
"Don't talk nonsense, okay?"
Liu Ly looked at Kaize and said,
"Hi, nice to meet you."
Kaize smiled at Yanping and Liu Ly. Haoyi walked up to Yanping and kissed her.
Kaize and Fanling looked at him with disgust. From afar, Yeey was also watching them.
One Week Later
The news was reporting on a murder case related to a school. The anchor said:
"Recently, a brutal murder occurred at a school in Korya Town. The victim was the principal's son of that school. The killer first stabbed the victim's vocal cords, then stabbed him three times in the abdomen. The suspect remains at large."
Yeey and Kaize walked out of the interrogation room together. Just as Kaize was about to speak, Yeey covered his mouth and said,
"We're at the police station. Don't say anything reckless."
Kaize looked at him.
Soon, they walked out of the police station. Yeey said to Kaize,
"Don't worry. They don't have any evidence."
Kaize looked at him and said,
"Thank you."
Yeey smiled and said,
"It's nothing."
Kaize stepped forward and hugged Yeey. Yeey's eyes widened instantly, then his arms slowly wrapped around Kaize.
In the distance, a dog walked past a grave. Suddenly, a hand crawled out from the ground, and the dog began barking wildly at it.
