Chapter 2 - chapter 2 : Meeting without touch

The days after that golden evening felt surreal. They knew each other, somehow, through countless unspoken exchanges of glances—but now there was a new possibility: the same city, the same street, yet no words were needed.

He arrived at the crossing earlier than usual, pretending to check his phone while scanning the crowd for her familiar gaze. She arrived on foot, a little faster than she normally walked, heart pounding at the thought of seeing him again.

They didn't move toward each other. Not yet. There was no hand to hold, no words to exchange. But the air between them felt alive, charged, electric.

Instead, they danced around each other in invisible patterns. She turned her head to avoid bumping into a stranger, only to find his eyes catching hers across the street. He shifted on his feet to tie his shoelace, and she glanced down—but when she looked up, he was looking straight at her again.

It was like a silent conversation, each glance a sentence, each pause a punctuation.

You're here.

I've been waiting.

Don't go.

I won't.

The city buzzed around them. Cars honked, motorcycles roared, strangers jostled past. Yet in that tiny bubble of space, time seemed to slow. People brushed past, phones rang, bags swung—but they were untouchable, invisible to everything but each other.

Hours passed without moving a step closer, and yet somehow they were nearer than ever. Each morning became a ritual, a secret meeting without speaking, a promise held in the curve of an eye.

Sometimes she imagined what it would be like to speak, to laugh, to finally touch. But every time, she decided against it. This—this silent understanding—was theirs alone. Words could only ruin it.

And so they kept meeting, day after day, a love written in glances, a connection stronger than any hand could hold, a warmth deeper than any voice could speak.

The world didn't know them, didn't see them—but they didn't care. Their hearts were enough.
