Inside the room, Victor Steele picked up a black shirt that had been laid out on the sofa. As he was about to change, he sensed someone still standing near the door.

He frowned and looked up coldly. "Does Miss Ravens not understand the difference between men and women?"
Veronika Ravens's face flushed scarlet. Embarrassment surged up her neck, and she was just about to speak when Victor Steele cut her off without even sparing her a glance.
"Do I need to spell it out for you and ask you to leave before you understand?"
