Chapter 6 - The confession

---

He had rehearsed it a thousand times in his mind — in the silence of his dressing room, beneath the glow of studio lights, and even while pretending to smile in front of cameras. But standing in front of her now, none of the practiced words came out. Only the truth.

"I think about you… more than I should," he said, voice low, trembling. "And when I read your poems, I feel seen — like you know the real me… not the one the world cheers for."

She froze. The weight of his words pressed against the air between them. Her heart raced, not from surprise, but from the fear she saw in his eyes — fear not of her rejection, but of the world's.

He had built his life on perfection, privacy, and polished silence. A single confession could break that fragile image.

"I'm scared," he admitted. "If this gets out, I don't know what it could cost me. My name, my career… maybe even you."

She stepped closer, her voice gentle. "You won't lose me. Not for being real."

But deep inside, they both knew — love in the shadows was never safe. Especially when the spotlight never turns off.
