In the living room, Benjamin was sitting upright at the dining table. His small back was straight, his hands neatly placed on his lap. His eyes kept drifting toward the steaming porridge on the table, yet he didn't make a sound or move an inch.
Mary walked over, scooped a bowl of meat porridge, and placed it gently in front of him. "Benjamin, eat obediently first," she said softly.
The rich aroma rose from the bowl. Benjamin clearly wanted to eat right away, but he hesitated. Remembering his mother's usual teachings, he turned his head to look at Kristen, silently asking for permission.
Kristen noticed his glance and nodded. "Auntie has already served it for you. Go ahead and eat. Just be careful, it's hot."
Only then did Benjamin pick up his spoon and begin eating slowly, each movement careful and restrained.
"Benjamin is really easy to take care of," Mary said with a gentle smile. "So sensible and obedient."
