Mary nodded slowly, a quiet sense of satisfaction settling in her chest. Kristen's long-suppressed grievance had finally been brought to an end.
Seeing that Kristen had stopped hitting him, Steven burst into tears of relief. His entire body ached so badly that every breath felt like torture. The pain was sharp, deep, and humiliating, and it made his earlier arrogance seem laughable.
Mary then walked over, squatted in front of him, and looked down at him calmly. Her tone was casual, almost conversational, as she said, "As a man, you're truly scum to the extreme. Let me guess, after you leave here, you're planning to run back to the factory and report us, right?"
Steven's eyes flashed with venom.
In his heart, he was already shouting curses. Of course, he wanted to report them. He wanted to scream that just because her husband was the deputy factory manager didn't mean she could beat people at will, that this was illegal, that she would go to jail for this.
