A seemingly conventional tachi that carries a dark, ominous presence betraying its true nature: its dark Damascus steel blade bears subtle patterns resembling wings or veins and appears to absorb light, with an irregular, undulating hamon like bats flying through the night; the iron tsuba is forged in a stylized bat silhouette with outstretched wings and onyx eyes that devour light; the hilt is wrapped in black samegawa with very dark gray or deep purple silk ito, adorned with oxidized silver menuki shaped like skulls or bat heads.
While the fuchi and kashira feature discreet engravings of crescent moons or the Mayan glyph of Camazotz; finally, the matte black lacquered wooden saya, paired with a charcoal-gray sageo, hides barely visible engravings of bats soaring over Mayan ruins that only reveal themselves under specific lighting conditions.

Immediate Visual Effect: The blade darkens, and a short shadow in the shape of a small bat appears. The wielder gains a faint aura like shadow wings when swinging the sword.

Spectral Echolocation (響洞 - Kyōdō): When executing a cut or snap, the zanpakutō emits infrasonic/ultrasonic sound waves that map the space within the wave's reach. This allows the user to detect hidden enemies, project deceptive auditory images, and locate weak points (like internally mapping an opponent).
Shadow Cloak (夜覆 - Yorōi): The sword creates a light penumbra in a short radius around the wielder, decreasing the enemy's visibility and increasing the user's mobility. Ideal for ambushes and escapes.
Cave Chant (洞歌 - Dōka): Offensive technique: The wielder concentrates sound within the blade and releases it in a directed pulse that can stun, break balance, and, at high levels, dislocate spiritual armor (reiatsu). It doesn't kill instantly—rather, it demoralizes and exhausts.

Visual Release: The sword transforms into a fragmented crown of wings; the wielder is enveloped by a layer of membranes that emerge from their back like a gigantic pair of wings. The immediate surroundings (several meters) darken, creating an artificial night.
Effects and Powers:
Dominion of Night (夜領 - Yaryo): Creates a sphere of twilight where the senses of others (sight, hearing, spiritual perception) are severely diminished—only the wielder and designated allies retain full functionality. Within this sphere, the Bankai's sound waves are lethal: the vibrations can tear through reiatsu and spiritual tissue.
Swarm of Laments (喚蝠群 - Kanpuku-gun): Summons thousands of bat-like shadows that attack in a swarm. Each bat drains the opponent's spiritual life force by landing and symbolically biting—in combat terms, this reduces regeneration, weakens energy abilities, and causes accelerated fatigue.
Night Maw (夜喰の顎 - YoruKui no Ago): Final closing technique: The shadows converge, forming a gigantic mouth that attempts to "devour" the opponent's life force and temporarily seal their abilities; if it fails, it leaves the user exhausted.
Cost/Drawback: The Bankai is extremely powerful but costly: it consumes vast amounts of the user's reiatsu every second it is maintained; furthermore, while the Bankai is active, the user suffers light sensitivity, and their body is exposed to light-based attacks that cause amplified damage. If overused, there is a risk that the wearer will lose control and the hunger of the shadows will threaten their very essence—Camazotz, the spirit, then acts as a moderator to prevent spiritual self-cannibalism, but the internal tension is real.
