Chapter 8 - For The Emperor!

As the Warp transmission light dissipated, Sibylla immediately heard a loud battle cry before she could recover from the dizziness of the teleportation:

"For The Emperor!"

She looked in the direction of the sound, and her eyes instantly widened in shock.

A silver-haired woman was charging the heretic's position with unimaginable bravery. A faint golden halo surrounded her head, and a pair of pure white wings sprouted from her back. She held a Holy Relic Shield in one hand and wielded a Chainsword in the other.

Wherever she passed, the air shimmered with faint golden light. The traitorous heretics rushed forward one after another, but they were no match for her, leaving only a trail of mutilated corpses.

Sibylla, who had conducted an investigation before boarding this Cruiser, naturally recognized the person's appearance, but it was precisely because she recognized her that she fell into astonishment.

Isn't that Lucia, the Canoness of the Order of the Martyr Saintess?

Is she... a Living Saint now?!

"Don't just stand there!"

The Custodian roared, reminding the Inquisitor.

The two landed next to a traitor position, where several Chaos Space Marines were raising their bolters, preparing to attack the newcomers.

Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh—

Blinding flashes of light swept past. Plasma Bolts and Meltagun Beams sliced through the air, carrying a faint smell of ozone, and shot toward them.

The Chaos Space Marines were immediately shot down before they could even open fire.

Only then did the Custodian notice that the traitors' position had already suffered heavy damage:

Large numbers of Cultist corpses, destroyed heavy fire equipment of various types, and even many fallen Chaos Space Marines were lying scattered everywhere, all mutilated and covered in impact scars.

In the distance, a young man was slowly approaching from the direction of the attack's source. Thirteen guns of various styles floated beside him, spitting out firepower with astonishing rate and accuracy, continuously suppressing the position.

"Illegal Psyker?"

The thought flashed through the Custodian's mind, but he immediately dismissed it. "No, the control over Psychic Energy shouldn't be so precise, and I didn't sense any Warp fluctuations. Furthermore, the machine spirit is incredibly active... what exactly is this thing?"

A furious roar interrupted his thoughts.

The previously calm ground trembled slightly, and an extremely twisted behemoth appeared at the end of the corridor, charging toward the four people at an alarming speed!

That heavy beast was composed of both machinery and flesh. Its covering of purple armor was riddled with blasphemous patterns. Its arms were equipped with extremely hideous and terrifying Lightning Claws and Assault Cannons. During its charge, it crushed Cultists who couldn't dodge, turning them into crimson decorations on the floor, as if rolling over speed bumps.

The guns floating around Adam immediately focused fire on this monster, but the effect was minimal, as its thick armor completely blocked the attacks!

Hellbeast!

The term surfaced almost simultaneously in the minds of the four people present.

This war machine, forged by Chaos Forces in an extremely blasphemous manner, was completely comparable to an Astartes dreadnought, and its fighting power was definitely not to be underestimated.

"I'll take care of it!"

Lucia let out a low cry, spread her wings, and shot forward like an arrow released from a bow, actively meeting the seemingly unstoppable Hellbeast.

Boom!!!

The Holy Relic Storm Shield and the massive Lightning Claw collided head-on, and layered shockwaves erupted from the center of the impact!

A grating metallic friction sound rang out. The Hellbeast's mechanical legs, which had been charging fiercely, dragged two deep furrows across the floor. The Lightning Claw was jolted high into the air, clearly losing the contest of strength against the E Great Daemon.

The Hellbeast, driven mad by endless torment, was about to regroup and counterattack when a powerful Psychic Shockwave from the Inquisitor turned its other Assault Cannon into a lump of scrap metal.

Adam's attacks arrived almost simultaneously. Thirteen different types of weapons fired together, accurately hitting the Hellbeast's arm, briefly stalling the Lightning Claw's offense.

And the battle-hardened Lucia naturally wouldn't miss this opportunity.

She took a deep breath. The Chainsword's teeth began to spin rapidly, and the Psychic Flames originating from The Emperor blazed fiercely upon it.

Then, she delivered a heavy strike!

The blade pierced the thick armor plate. The flames poured in, turning the Astartes—who had been fused with the machinery under the influence of Chaos Sorcery—into dust.

"...Damn corpse emperor's running dog!"

Around the corner of the corridor, an Enchanted Warrior serving as a Commander saw this scene through his Tactical Helmet and cursed under his breath.

A Hellbeast capable of wiping out an entire Astartes Squad in suitable terrain was instantly slain, unable to last even a few minutes!

He racked his brain but couldn't understand how the opponent did it!

Also, why did a Living Saint appear here?

This is completely illogical!

"...Stop thinking! What are you hesitating for? Run!"

A terrified scream came from his mind.

What's going on?

The Enchanted Warrior's expression turned puzzled. It was the first time he had seen the Warp Daemon possessing him display such terror.

Warp Daemons are also called The Unborn. Generally speaking, even if they are killed in the Material World, they merely return to the Warp, waiting for the next opportunity to manifest. What could possibly make them feel fear?

"Idiot, didn't you sense it? Those souls—the souls of the lord of pleasure's followers—completely dissipated after being killed, turning into nothingness! They didn't return to the lord of pleasure's Sixth Ring!"

"That hateful The Cursed One! How could he do that? Impossible! Wait, not the The Cursed One? Is this Living Saint truly a Living Saint? This feeling has never happened before. Strange..."

The daemon's rambling words made the Enchanted Warrior frown. He found it difficult to grasp the meaning of what it was saying.

However, he strongly agreed with the requirement to flee immediately.

The Warband brothers and Chaos Cultist cannon fodder blocking the enemy seemed to be rapidly depleted under the fierce assault. If he didn't leave soon, he might not be able to escape.

Just as the Enchanted Warrior turned around, preparing to leave, he suddenly sensed an abnormal Warp energy fluctuation coming from one side.

A dazzling blue teleportation light flashed, and a tall figure draped in black robes, holding a power sword, blocked his path.

Clang!

Blades intersected, and azure Decomposition Fields clashed as the two stared at each other.

The Enchanted Warrior was immensely surprised.

Initiating a second Warp transmission in such a short time?

Was that Psyker insane?

Meanwhile, the Custodian's thought was very simple.

"Repent, heretic! Today is your day to die!"
