Theo couldn't hold it in anymore. The frustration, the anger—it had been building for so long. And now it was all spilling out, faster than he could catch it.
"I'm not asking for this!" Theo shouted, his voice shaking with emotion. "I never wanted you to fix me, Elliot! I don't need you to rescue me every fucking time!"
Elliot's face hardened, his eyes flashing with something dangerous. "You think I want to be your savior?" he shot back, his voice rising. "I'm tired, Theo! I'm tired of trying, of putting in everything I have when you don't even care enough to meet me halfway!"
Theo's throat tightened, and for a moment, he thought he might suffocate from the weight of it all. He opened his mouth, but no words came. All he could do was stand there, his hands shaking.
"I care..." Theo finally whispered, his tears stinging the corners of his eyes. "I do. But I can't keep doing this. I can't keep pretending I'm okay when I'm not. I can't keep pretending you're not just... suffocating me."
Elliot's eyes softened for a brief moment, but then the anger surfaced again. "So that's it? You're just going to walk away from me? From everything we've built?"
Theo's chest tightened, the tears finally breaking free. He didn't care anymore, didn't care that he was breaking in front of Elliot, didn't care that his voice cracked as he spoke.
"I didn't walk away-! He cried, choking the words out, the sentence tasting bitter. "You pushed me away. You've been pushing me away for months. I don't even know who you are anymore."
Elliot stared at him, his expression cold. "I don't know who you are either," he said, his voice flat and very slightly shaking.
The words hit Theo like a slap. He wanted to scream, wanted to punch something, but instead, he just stood there, his chest heaving, tears falling freely now, creating soft stains of tears on his face.
He took a shaky step back. "You were my boyfriend," he said, his voice breaking. "But we're done."
Elliot didn't move, didn't say anything. He just stood there, watching Theo walk away. Theo's heart shattered with every step, so did Elliot's. But Theo didn't know that. He kept going, like he was in a trance, one foot in front of the other. He stops right before the door, hesitating."I - never mind".
As he reached the door nob, he paused for a moment, his breath hitching. He looked back once, but there was nothing left to say.
And then, Theo walked out....
'He-he left?- asswit' there was anger in Elliot's thoughts 'peace of shit'
He whisper yelled in his head, finally cracking himself, crying at how dumb he felt for saying all those harsh words.
