Chapter 68: Morgan Abilities

The fake Moody was losing his patience. "Crucio!" He felt a light breeze on the back of his neck and immediately snapped his wand in that direction.

A stack of the students' tests that had been resting on top of the coffee table was torn to shreds.

"Ahhh! Where are you?!" he screamed with fury.

"Here."

The soft female voice came once more from behind him. When he snapped his head around, he found a dark black mist floating right in front of his face.

He instinctively tried to jump backwards and put some distance between himself and this strange mist, only to find out that something was holding him in place.

From the mist, a pale hand had appeared and was grabbing his left arm with tremendous force.

His wand hand remained unrestrained and immediately moved to point at the only solid part he could see. "Cruci—"

Before he could bring his right hand down, it was stopped midair by another limb that emerged from the black mist.

With both arms now being restricted by this unknown creature, the impostor was invaded by a feeling of dread.

Next, a pair of glowing yellow eyes appeared in front of his face.

"Your skills are very disappointing, Mister Fake." As she spoke, the mist quickly congealed into a solid form. It was that of Morgan Le Fay, who was now wearing her usual purple robes.

"You!… You are… a vampire?" the professor said after scouring his memories in search of a creature that could fit what he was seeing.

The pale skin, yellow eyes, inhuman strength, and the ability to transform into mist all fit the description of a vampire.

A powerful one at that, since only ancient vampires possessed special abilities.

Morgan frowned. She hated that name. People had called her that in the past, as well as many other things, but she did not consider herself as such, even though she shared many of their qualities.

The origin of her powers and her immortality came from an extremely ancient ritual that she had been able to piece together after finding the remnants of one of the primordial sorcerers—the ones who were the closest to the Source of Magic.

She had earned these powers by using her wits, as well as many years of hard work and research. And she had done this to achieve her goal of stopping her crazy half-brother.

Because of this, Morgan found it demeaning to be compared to those vampires who gained their abilities by just drinking the blood of some dark creature.

Lazy bastards.

"Crunch."

The impostor let out a bloodcurdling scream when he felt both of his wrists being shattered under the power of Morgan's grasp.

Following this, he was flung across his office, crashing against the wooden door and breaking it apart.

"Urggg!" The man went tumbling and grunting into the hallway of the sixth floor of the castle.

When he tried to stand up, the mere movement of his broken bones made him let out another bloodcurdling scream that resounded throughout the entire castle.

Morgan walked out of the office and found him struggling. That brought a cruel smile to her face. "You could have saved yourself some pain if you had told me what I wanted to know."

The impostor gritted his teeth and glared at her. His only visible eye was now glowing with an eerie red light.

"Oh? It seems like we have a very bad man," Morgan commented. Red eyes such as these on a wizard or witch were a clear indication that this person had subjected themselves to dark rituals to enhance themselves...the kind of ritual that typically involved some form of human sacrifice.

They were very effective, but they also corroded the soul, and the eyes would reflect this corruption.

The fake Moody lifted his broken hands with difficulty until they both pointed toward Morgan. "DIE!" A black spark of fire was conjured between the two broken hands before it was shot at Morgan.

She shifted her posture, and before the cursed fire could touch her, Morgan had disappeared from the spot.

Moving at an inhuman speed, she reached the impostor and, without slowing down, threw a straight right punch that hit him square on the jaw, producing a painfully loud cracking noise and sending him into the hallway wall.

The man hit the wall with so much force that it produced yet another cracking sound before finally landing on the floor, face-first.

Behind her, the cursed fire had impacted the outer wall of the office and was starting to spread.

Before she could do something about it, Morgan felt the arrival of her companion.

"Maledictum Purgatio!" (Curse Purification.)

The black flames were washed away by purely white ethereal dust.

In just a short moment, the only thing left of the dark curse was a charred wall.

"I told you to wait for me before doing something reckless." Harry was glaring at her, clearly displeased by her actions.

"I was going to wait!" Morgan exclaimed. "I only planned on keeping an eye on him, but then he—"

"What is going on here?!"

She soon realized that Harry had not come here alone. Or perhaps the screams of the impostor had been loud enough to catch the attention of the school Headmaster, as well as some of the other professors.

Albus Dumbledore stared in shock at the scene, trying to process what he was seeing.

"Madam Yafel?" He first saw the young-looking woman standing in the middle of the hall and immediately recognized who she was.

But then his eyes went to the man lying on the floor just a few feet away from her. "Alastor!" He found his old friend, and he was not looking good.

Harry could feel the fury rising in the old wizard and knew that he would have to intervene here.
