Chapter 30: Raptorex Fusion
Jiang Qize looked over at little Robin and noticed she was staring right back at him.
He smiled, walked over, opened the cage, and unlocked the shackles around her wrists.
"Come out. You're safe now."
He freed her mainly because he was planning to take this ship for himself—naturally, he couldn't leave unrelated people aboard. Besides, he didn't want to draw any unnecessary trouble for the moment. After all, Nico Robin already had a bounty on her head.
Most importantly, Robin was one of the story's main characters—someone who might be protected by "plot armor."
He wasn't sure if such things really existed, but he'd rather not take chances.
After letting her go, he ignored her and moved to a section of the floorboards in the room, prying them open.
Underneath was a wooden ladder leading downward.
"Hope this isn't a poor man's ship," he muttered.
Right now, he was completely broke—and all he wanted was money.
In the small cage, little Robin watched him disappear below. Only then did she start to move, her tense body trembling slightly as she slowly stood up and carefully stepped out of the cage.
She glanced once toward the hatch, bit her lip, then cautiously crept toward it.

The moment she stepped out of the cabin, a wave of hot, fishy breath washed over her little face.
She looked up—only to see a gaping maw right in front of her, its two nostrils, each bigger than her fist, puffing out clouds of white steam.
Robin's face instantly went pale. Her legs gave out, and she collapsed onto the deck, too terrified to move.
"Roaaar~"
The Raptorex let out a low growl, its huge, vertical pupils rotating as it curiously studied the tiny creature before it.
"Uhh…"
At that moment, a gray blur slid down from the Raptorex's back, all the way to its head, before leaping off toward Robin.
Thud!
The little gorilla landed on the deck, standing upright.
It, too, tilted its head, curiously observing little Robin.

Meanwhile, inside the cabin,
Jiang Qize's face broke into a radiant grin.
Before him sat a wooden chest half a meter wide, packed full of neatly stacked banknotes—each one worth 10,000 Berries.
And right beside them was a Devil Fruit.
"As expected—robbery really is the true path to riches. Maybe I should visit a few noble estates next time."
Jiang Qize chuckled, eyes gleaming like gold coins.
"Recharge!"
He placed his hand over the pile of money and muttered softly.
[Recharge successful. You have obtained 15 million Berries!]
"Not bad."
Jiang Qize nodded in satisfaction. Fifteen million Berries—better than he'd expected.
And he even got a Devil Fruit.
"This amount's only enough for a single mid-level enhancement. It wouldn't do much for Raptorex's power. But if the Devil Fruit is a good match…"
He smiled faintly. "Then a fusion might be worth it."
Each fusion cost ten million Berries—so it had to be something that would significantly boost the dinosaur's strength.
He opened the fusion interface.
Raptorex as the main body.
Then he placed the Devil Fruit into the fusion slot. Immediately, its information appeared on the screen.

Jiang Qize frowned. "Never heard of that one."
Still, he could tell it was a Paramecia-type—an ability focused on offense.
"That's perfect. The Raptorex's born to kill. An offensive fruit suits it well."
After some thought, he decided to proceed with the fusion.
He exited the cabin and walked to the giant's cage, placing his hand on the massive body.
To his surprise, the selection panel displayed a valid "Giant" option.
A grin spread across his face. He immediately dragged the giant into the fusion frame.
There was nothing else worth adding. He selected "Confirm."
