Chapter 21: Synthesis
"You… who told you to kill him?"
Jiang Qize looked down at the Mosasaur and gave a wry smile.
That man was a World Noble. Now that he'd killed him, he was bound to be wanted. When that happened, making money would become much harder.
He'd planned to lay low for a while and keep strengthening himself—but now that plan was ruined.
"Roar~"
The Mosasaur bellowed, as if saying, How is that my fault?
"If not you, then who else? Great, just great. I'm about to go from bounty hunter to pirate. Good thing I already claimed that bounty."
Jiang Qize smiled, glanced at the chest beside him, and deposited the money straight into the system—carrying it around was too inconvenient.
As for sightseeing in Loguetown, he had no interest. Getting stronger was far more fun.
Before long, he was back aboard the ship.
"Did you get everything?"
He looked at Camon and asked calmly.
"Yes, Captain."
Camon lowered his head as he replied.
In the past few days, he'd grown used to life aboard the ship. It was dull and lonely, but at least it was safe—no need to worry about dying at any moment.
Whenever pirates appeared, the captain and those dinosaurs handled everything. He was just support staff.
"Do you know how to get into the Grand Line?" Jiang Qize asked.
"Uh… well…" Camon scratched his head awkwardly.
He'd never been outside the East Blue. He only knew basic navigation. As for entering the Grand Line, he'd only heard a little about it.
"Captain, I've never been to the Grand Line, but I heard there are two ways to enter: one is by going up Reverse Mountain, and the other is through the Calm Belt. But the Calm Belt's really dangerous."
Jiang Qize sighed inwardly.
Of course he knew those two routes were the only options—but he didn't know the way.
"We'll go through the Calm Belt. It's faster."
Most ships couldn't possibly pass through the Calm Belt—but he wasn't relying on a ship. He had the Mosasaurus.
"The Calm Belt…?" Camon's eyes widened.
Is this captain trying to get himself killed?
With just that underwater dinosaur, he thought they could cross the Calm Belt? That place was filled with Sea Kings dozens of times bigger than that creature!
"Mm. Just do as I say," Jiang Qize said evenly.
"Yes, Captain," Camon replied, sighing inwardly.
Jiang Qize nodded and went into his cabin.
Inside, he opened the system interface.

"It's been days and I still haven't checked what synthesis does," he muttered, tapping [Synthesize].
[Note]: The synthesis function requires a dinosaur as the main body. The secondary component is unrestricted.
A holographic panel appeared before him. In the center was a large square, and beneath it, several smaller ones. Below those was a button marked with a number: 10,000,000.
Jiang Qize's eyes lit up.
This feature looks promising—but it's expensive. Ten million a pop?
"Since we're going through the Calm Belt, I'd better power up the Mosasaurus. Otherwise, we might not make it."
He tapped the large square, and a list of his dinosaurs appeared.
He dragged the Mosasaurus into the main slot.
Then he opened a smaller slot—inside were his other dinosaurs and one Devil Fruit.
"Huh… I can synthesize Devil Fruits too?"
Jiang Qize was surprised.
"But if I fuse a Devil Fruit into the Mosasaurus, will it turn into a land animal?"
If the Mosasaurus lost its ability to swim, it would be useless.
After a moment of thought, he decided to trust the system.
