Anisa felt a crushing pressure around her neck, her air supply cut off. Four burly men surrounded her. One pressed the cold barrel of a gun to her temple, hissing a vile threat. Another lifted her by her legs as if she weighed nothing. The remaining two scrambled to snatch her valuables. đŤ
A muscular, thick hand closed around her throat, brutally yanking at the necklace she wore. "Please⌠let goâŚ" she choked out, her voice and breath fracturing. The deserted street offered no reply, only an obscene silence. Streetlights remained dark, houses shuttered. Tears streamed uncontrollably down her face as the pressure intensified.
"God⌠isn't anyone coming? Am I going to die here?" Her mind began to splinter. đ

Suddenly,a powerful hand seized the wrist of the man choking her. In the next second, that man was flung backward with tremendous force.
The three others, who had dropped Anisa to the ground, spun toward the new arrival. Without a word, they lunged at him in unison.
Anisa lay on the pavement, dazed for a few seconds. Her ears rang with the sounds of a rapid, violent scuffle; grunts, thuds, fast movement. Her heart still tried to beat its way out of her chest. Blinking through her tears, she forced her eyes to focus. đđ
