"Anisa, so this... this is your company?" Yugh asked, struggling to reconcile the woman before him with the mystery he had been chasing. š£
"Yes. It was the venture Zayan built. After he died, I took over its management," Anisa replied, her composure a stark contrast to his visible turmoil. "But... why are you here?"
"Right. Then I can finally start to understand..." Yugh muttered, running his fingers through his hair in a gesture of sheer frustration. š
"Understand what? What are you talking about?" Anisa pressed, her confusion genuine.
"This! My wife; or rather, your husband's mistress, Zahra, she took money from me and invested it in shares of this business," he declared, the words tasting bitter. š«
Upon hearing this, Anisa's face showed no surprise, only a deep, weary resignation. "I knew about that," she said, her voice low.
"You knew? You knew about this while Zayan was still alive?" Yugh demanded, a controlled anger simmering beneath his words. š
"No. Not then. I only found out recently, while reviewing some of the studio's old financial records. I saw a major investment under the name 'Mrs. Singh.' It makes sense now. That was Zahra."
"Hmph. How many things did those two do behind our backs?" Yugh's voice was thick with betrayal. "We only found out after they were both gone. They deceived us so completely. I still can't process it. Zahra and I shared a married life for fourteen years, but for the last three of them, her love was reserved for Zayan." He spoke the painful truth aloud, as if to make it more real. š°
"You're right," Anisa concurred, her tone laced with a matching grief. "In my four-year marriage to Zayan, I now realize he offered me only a facade of love for three of those years."
A heavy silence filled the office, thick with their shared, yet separate, anguish. They were two wounded people standing over the wreckage left by the same storm. After a long moment of staring into that painful void, Yugh abruptly stood up.
Without another word to Anisa, without a glance back, he turned and strode straight out of the AZ Studio, leaving her alone amidst the ghosts of their partners' betrayal. š„
