A Pokémon was not truly conquered just because someone said so. If it wasn't personally defeated and acknowledged the Trainer's strength, dissatisfaction could easily arise. In the worst cases, it could even lead to rebellion or attacks against its so-called master. The Scyther subdued by Xiaoyu and the others were a perfect example of this situation.
As soon as they woke up, the three Scyther loudly demanded a rematch, clearly unhappy with Xiaoyu and Mengke. This sudden reaction immediately made the girls panic. Although they had excellent grades at school, their Pokémon had only just been captured. In real combat, they simply didn't know how to fight properly yet.
Seeing this, Su Yu spoke up calmly."Gallade, go. Fight them again.""If they're not convinced, beat them until they are."
Su Yu had already anticipated this outcome. Scyther were known as proud warriors, and there was no way they would submit so easily. The most effective method was straightforward—overwhelming strength.
Gallade stepped forward immediately, but this time, the Scyther hesitated."Xiye!!"
They might be arrogant, but they weren't stupid. They had already experienced Gallade's strength firsthand and had been completely crushed before. Fighting it again would likely end with them being knocked unconscious. The three Scyther instantly backed down, clearly intimidated.
Seeing this, Su Yu curled his lips in disdain. Cowards.
"From now on, you'll follow the three of them," Su Yu said firmly. "They may still be rookies, but they are my assistants. Following them is the same as following me. Understand?"
He then took out energy cubes and continued, "Follow us, and you'll be able to eat these every day. You fought before because of food, didn't you? If you stay, you won't have to worry about that anymore."
The three Scyther looked at one another. Their fight with Lurantis really had started because of food, and Su Yu's words made sense. Pride was one thing, but survival mattered more. After a brief exchange of cries, they agreed.
Xiaoyu and the others were immediately excited."Scyther, please give me some advice," Xiaoyu said happily, boldly grabbing one of its scythes and swinging it around playfully. They genuinely liked Scyther, and seeing this scene, Su Yu nodded in satisfaction.
He then released the rest of the Pokémon and explained the situation to them as well. Most didn't refuse at all. After all, who would want to remain in the wild, struggling for food, when given the chance for stability? Some even asked if they could bring companions along. Su Yu naturally agreed.
Mime Jr., in particular, clung to Su Yu, constantly calling out, wanting to bring a sibling as well."In that case, go call them over," Su Yu said casually. "A few more won't hurt."
Hearing this, several Pokémon happily scattered across the grassland to gather companions. Xiaoyu watched the scene with a complicated expression."Brother Su Yu… is it really okay to take in so many Pokémon at once? Won't it cost too much?"
Su Yu shook his head lightly. "It's fine. More Pokémon means more fun. And if their offspring are good, they can eventually be adopted out through the breeding house."
He then took out Lurantis' Poké Ball. Seeing it, everyone focused their attention on it. A shiny Lurantis was extremely rare, especially since Lurantis didn't normally exist in the Dragon Kingdom. Su Yu released it, and the shy Pokémon looked at him curiously before covering its face with its arms.
"Hello, Lurantis," Su Yu said gently. "From now on, I'll be your Trainer. Please take care of me."
"Lala!"
Lurantis nodded, then shyly placed its sickle into Su Yu's hand when he asked for a handshake. Seeing this gentle reaction, Su Yu smiled. After asking about its origins and listening to its explanation, Su Yu roughly pieced things together—it had likely hatched from a lost egg and grown up among other Grass-type Pokémon, avoiding humans and surviving quietly.
After introducing Lurantis to the rest of his Pokémon, Su Yu couldn't help but marvel at his luck. Aside from Pikachu and Gallade, nearly all of his team consisted of shiny Pokémon. Now, another shiny had joined.
Not long after, the Pokémon that had gone out earlier returned, bringing even more companions—Bounsweet, Mr. Mime, and Machamp among them. Su Yu's eyes lit up when he saw Bounsweet. This Pokémon was extremely useful, both for its fragrance and for making energy cubes. Without much effort, Su Yu convinced them all to stay.
Machamp agreed immediately upon hearing food and accommodation were included, while Mr. Mime had no reason to refuse either. By the time everything was settled, Su Yu prepared to head back before it got too late.
On the way back, Pikachu and Charmander accidentally got into a fierce battle with a group of Exeggutor and Exeggcute, even using powerful moves. Su Yu rushed over, stopped them, and subdued the defeated Pokémon, deciding to take them back for future use.
After finally returning to the orphanage, Su Yu was immediately surrounded by excited children. When he released all the Pokémon in the backyard, cheers erupted. The yard instantly became lively, filled with Grass-types, Machamp, Mr. Mime, and the shiny Lurantis.
Su Yu calmly explained the rules—this was their home now, they were not allowed to harm the children, and they would be provided food and energy cubes in exchange for work. Mr. Mime would assist with cleaning, Machamp with heavy lifting, and the Grass-types with the orchard.
Later that night, as the Grass-type Pokémon settled in, they unconsciously released life energy that accelerated the growth of the orchard. Watching the saplings thrive, Su Yu felt satisfied. Everything was finally coming together.
The breeding house continued operating smoothly into the next day. With the Scyther helping cut fruit and the assistants learning energy cube production, Su Yu turned his attention to Lurantis' examination. After scanning it, he confirmed its elite strength, dual abilities, and genetic mutation, mentally planning its future training path.
As Lurantis curiously leaned closer to the screen, Su Yu smiled and began explaining things to her slowly.
