Chapter 16 - Pool party

Wednesday was quite a difficult day for my sanity. Additionally, there were some problems at my residence on Monday due to a person who fell down the stairs from my floor all the way to the bottom. Surprisingly, he survived.

In a few moments, Sameru will finish his classes and we'll go directly to the place he reserved to start organizing everything.

According to him, he contracted another person who knows a lot about parties and will help. Even though I don't like that Anna died, this loop is surprisingly good.

From birth until today, I think this has been the best week of my life. "Hey! What are you doing standing there? You were supposed to get ahead and do a lot of work before me and the girl arrived so she wouldn't have to work so much."

I turned to see who it was, although I already knew from his notably irritating voice when he shouts. "You didn't send me the location. Do you think I'm a mind reader?" I asked Sameru as I started walking towards the exit.

He grabbed his hair a little with his open hand. "I forgot, although sometimes you do seem like a mind reader, just to stand out."

To some extent, I guess. I stopped walking so he could get ahead, then followed him.

We arrived in less than 30 minutes, but we were still late, so we got to work quickly.

First, I went to the warehouse where I grabbed several lights, tables, and chairs. Sameru left and returned a bit later with snacks, water, beer, and a cake.

"I'm done with the chairs and tables; only the decorations and lights are left," I told Sameru through the bathroom door, since nature had called him shortly after arriving.

"Anna will take care of the decorations, but you can start handling the lights," he responded from the bathroom.

Anna? I wondered as I started taking out the lights. I began hanging the ones farthest from the pool because they were easier.

The door to the place opened. A brown hand peeked through the door, then the whole person entered. A beautiful woman with the most gorgeous tan I've ever seen.

Anna! I was quite surprised to see her. My feet and hands froze, but suddenly I felt a push and fell into the pool.

All my senses trembled from the sudden cold caused by the water. My head began to turn little by little. The water was very deep, about 2 meters or more.

Since I couldn't stand, I remained still, causing my body to start floating towards the surface.

Once I was very high up, I began to hear Sameru's laughter. A few seconds later, I lifted my head and swallowed water, then tried to float, but my clothes had become very heavy.

"You were really distracted by Anna! And then they say I devour women with my gaze," Sameru said between laughs.

"That's why you're friends, right?" the woman said calmly.

Sameru stood still for a bit. "We'd better finish the decorations," he said while continuing what he was doing.

"I'll go change." I grabbed the edge of the pool and got out as I said it.

I went to the bathroom with my backpack and put on my swimsuit. I need to start thinking about what to do with the attempted murder case and with Anna.

That said, thank God I already downloaded the security camera footage. Now I just have to find out who it was. And if it's someone useful to me, I'll help them.

When I finished changing, I left the bathroom to see that Sameru had already finished his work.

"Do you need help with anything?" I asked Anna as I tossed my backpack onto an empty seat.

She was standing on a small stool putting up balloons on the ceiling. "No, I was hired for something after all..." Anna stopped moving, then turned to me.

"I need some scissors," she said while extending her hand towards me. I grabbed the scissors that were next to me and gave them to her.

She turned back to the balloons, but still spoke to me. "Hey, why are you wearing a shirt?" Her tone was curious, but it sounded muffled by something she was holding in her mouth.

"I don't like putting on sunscreen. It feels weird," I said while looking at the back of her neck.

She got down from the stool and looked me in the face. "What a shame, I think the crimson shorts look really good on you, but this white shirt subtracts many points."

Her green eyes locked onto mine; her gaze seemed to be absorbing me. Her fingers touched the soft fabric of my shirt and began to slide underneath it. Thanks to her hands, my shirt lifted little by little.

"It seems you have nothing to hide. So you really are a party pooper; I would have loved to feast my eyes on this."

I felt myself getting warm, slowly, but that very thing made me react. I removed her hands from my chest and pushed her away.

She stood silent in front of me, her eyes still fixed on me, trying to absorb me into something that can only be described as lust.

I took two steps back. "We barely know each other. Why are you doing this?" I asked while continuing to retreat.

She advanced a little, but didn't follow me. "I like you. Besides, I'm very happy; after a long time, I can feel free."

Feel free... This didn't happen in the last loop, and she had the card in the last loop.

"That said, it's a shame we only have today and a little of tomorrow to get to know each other. I'm preparing to leave for another state and from there to another country." Anna stuck out her tongue and winked at me.

Thinking about this, I can make a small diagram in my mind. Anna got involved with who knows who; he or they are following her for something not very good. She's running away, and since they were tracking her with her card, she's undetectable to them for a while. During this time, she'll try to move.

Seeing how everything is going, I doubt leaving is convenient for her. Still, I can't force her to stay. Unless I help her a lot.

Anna looked at me a bit longer, but soon withdrew and continued with the balloons.

I felt a hit on my right side. "You're quite the Casanova. First you get Himari, and now Anna? Do you have some kind of spell on you?"

I turned to look at Sameru. "What are you talking about? I'm just living. I even have the worst fashion sense, posture, and hair you'll ever see."

"Yeah, sure," he said, moving away from me and pointing. "Today you styled your hair well; your eyes look direct; plus, the clothes you had were too good! I even think they were new! And to top it off, you've been walking, sitting, and standing properly since Himari arrived. Currently, you have the potential to look like a magazine model!"

"That's not..." After listening to Sameru, I really had my doubts. I went into the bathroom with him and looked at myself in the full-length mirror. "I didn't even notice," I said, surprised.

"You're even becoming a better friend," he said with a smile on his face.

Ding dong ding dong dong

The doorbell resonated throughout the place. Sameru gave me a little tap on the shoulder and ran off. "Let's go receive the guests."

"Go ahead," I said while touching my hair a little.

I have very little time; after all, Anna was just hired. I haven't been to many parties, so I don't really know how that works.

I left the bathroom and searched for the woman with my gaze, but I didn't find her. All the work was finished. I continued advancing towards the entrance.

"Boo!" The scream resonated in my ears, and I felt something pounce on me. The texture of what I felt was soft and warm. Skin. That was my conclusion.

"Are you sure you don't want me?" Anna asked, her body leaning against mine as she hugged me from behind. "Sometimes instinct is right, and mine tells me you're someone worth getting to know, only we won't have time to do so."

Her head was resting on my shoulder, while her arms appeared around my abdomen. "I'm... I'm sorry, but I already like someone."

She brought her mouth close to my ear; I felt her lips gently brushing against my ear. "I don't mind polyamory. Whether your crush is a man or a woman, I'm okay with it."

Hearing this, I turned around and pushed her away. "I don't support it. Not one bit, so please stop getting close."

Anna looked surprised at my refusal, but she understood and moved away.

After all, I hate that; everything related to multi-person relationships is stupid. Even if Anna manages to convince Himari, I will never accept! All of that is pure garbage.

I headed towards the entrance door where Anna and Sameru were receiving two people who had arrived. The guests are starting to appear.
