Chapter 147 - Yüz Kırk Yedi

"How are you, uncle?"

The two words he heard after the strange mood he fell into caused the Orc Lord to stumble three steps back from where he stood. It was obvious right now that he couldn't stand without his son's support behind him.

"You! You! Impossible, who are you?"

"I am asking you! The man who once called himself Deliyürek, brother of the Orc Lord Cesuryürek and whom his son called uncle, HOW ARE YOU!"

Alyon practically roared on his last word due to his gradually increasing fury while speaking. The whole battlefield would witness his question. Siyahayı, left breathless due to the voice, looks, and feeling given by the orc opposite him, was trembling like a leaf trying to fall to the ground by breaking off its branch on a windy autumn evening. Even Alyon's shouting, into whose face he looked unconsciously, wasn't enough for him to come to his senses. He was as if in another world, in a deep dream.

"L-L-Let's return, let's g-g-go back immediately!"

Clinging to his son's arm, he could only utter a few words stuttering. Together with his subordinates running to his side upon the events, they headed towards the gate waiting for them open.

"Nafız, you can end this business if you want! I fulfilled my master's last request too!"

Alyon, regaining his own voice, whispered silently to his friend standing beside him. He knew this job was child's play within her abilities.

"No need! The orc warriors coming for the siege have to achieve this by shedding blood, sweat, and tears; they need to deserve their lands to know their value!"

The Blood God wasn't in a hurry. She was very sure the result would be as they wanted as long as they did what was necessary. She didn't want to be like her enemy who seized the administration treacherously by making a treacherous attack a hundred years ago. Thus, when the first day of the siege was completed, plans for tomorrow were being made inside the tent where the war council was established.

"Sangre, I want you to gather information about the wall surrounding the tribe. Can your daggers inflict any damage? I must learn its weaknesses and its depth towards underground!"

When Nafız gave her order to her student to research the obstacle they had to overcome, there were two thoughts in her mind; first was to really get information about the walls, the other was to give an occupation to the Blood Warrior whom she knew wouldn't stay comfortable at night.

"Son, what is the status of our new weapons? Çekiçdöven, how will you make their placements on the front!"

When Alyon directed his question to Kitapkurdu and his son-in-law sitting side by side, he was looking at their faces in a way showing he wanted to learn the answer immediately.

"We have a total of ten cannons in our hands. Half of them have the feature of firing fire and the other half ice marbles!"

Kitapkurdu immediately voiced the quantities in the inventory.

"Sir, the first army we consider as the main power will have eight cannons. We will add the remaining two to the ranks of the second army tonight!"

Çekiçdöven was making the arrangement adhering to the plan made at the beginning. Although there were two armies, the first army was seen as the main power, while the other was becoming a support unit with high mobility by being exempted from heavy loads.

Knowing tomorrow was pregnant with a bloody struggle, orc warriors lit giant fires around the fortress with high walls they surrounded. They were singing songs, marches by shouting as if wanting to raze the enemy's morale to the ground.

Clouds of fear and anxiety were wandering over the Main Orc Tribe; nerves were stretched like a bow along with sounds coming from outside. Their Lord, who should have prepared them for war by giving them morale, was sitting silently in his pitch-black tent with his head bowed in helplessness. Even his son waiting beside him wasn't aware of what was happening; he was seeing his father in this state for the first time.

"He must die, he must definitely die!"

These words stuck to Siyahayı's mouth like gum. Since he returned to his tribe after meeting with the enemy, whatever was in his mind was spilling from his lips.

"Son, send news to our friends immediately! I doubled the reward; let them come here as soon as possible!"

The lord's son receiving the order headed rapidly out of the tent, but suddenly sensing the killing desire appearing behind him, he froze where he stood. A breath later, he would come to his senses with his father's words.

"Send a mechanical raven to the Union too! I accept their conditions; let them help us!"

When the orc, unable to believe his ears, rushed out of the tent, he barely threw himself next to the mechanical tools they used to communicate. He was one of the three people knowing the formation called Union on all Orc Steppes, and he was eating his heart out due to the weight of the condition put forward for help.

After telling his son what he would do, the old orc, crushed under stress all day, fainted in a corner due to fatigue. He would learn morning came and the war started from the sounds produced by rocks thrown by the siege army with catapults hitting the walls.

Jumping from his place rapidly, he went out of his tent with the black pelt he threw on his back. The environment was like a festival place; warriors were running from one wall to another.

"Thud! Thud! Thud!"

Walls were shaking due to giant rocks; with every hit, a few orcs were taking flight downwards. The reason for this aggressive attack was the report Sangre gave; the news wasn't very heartwarming.

"Master, my weapons don't work on the walls. As far as I could measure, the length of the walls extends about ten steps towards underground!"

The news didn't please Nafız. The first things coming to her mind were cutting the wall or toppling it by digging under it as she did before. When the siege army understood this wasn't possible, they resorted to the way of invading by climbing on top from the gap that would form by pounding with catapults.

Warriors trying to climb up with high ladders from the edges of the part where shooting was concentrated and defense forces wanting to prevent them from realizing these wishes were clashing in many places.

"Master, won't you intervene? If it goes like this, overcoming the walls will take us a very long time!"

When the weather started showing signs of darkening, Kitapkurdu called out to his master watching the course of the war with him all day. According to his analyses, Nafız should have already climbed the walls and opened a hole for armies to enter.

"Today, we are pulling a small probe on the enemy. Do you think it is possible for these walls to be the only weapon in his hand?"

Alyon and Nafız were in favor of acting cautiously this time. Driving simple warriors from the front, they were keeping the big guns waiting behind. This was the first day's plan; probing the walls, they tested how durable they were. When night came, both bad much to talk about.

"The walls were quite sturdy, weren't they? Although we pounded them throughout the day, they didn't budge!"

Alyon called out to his friend before biting the thigh in his hand in one move.

"Your nice uncle spared no expense! Let alone a day, even if we attacked for a month, we can't reach a conclusion this way!"

Alyon's eyes opened wide after what he heard. He tried to speak before finishing the morsel in his mouth yet.

"We need to finish this job before it drags on too much! Every passing moment works against us!"

Moving away immediately from the side of the hulking orc speaking spraying his saliva and spit, Nafız gave her answer from a safe distance.

"Don't worry, I have a plan! You look to deal with Siyahayı when he comes out!"
