Chapter 2 - Entering

As a horror film enthusiast, Wu Heng was very familiar with this movie.

Besides the film series, there were various animated novels and spin-offs. He had discussed the world-building in detail with fellow forum members, even arguing for ages about which character was more powerful!

Wu Heng tried hard to recall the plot of this world: A man from the UK named Frank Cotton, in Morocco, Africa, obtained a box resembling a Rubik's Cube.

This box was the Lemacand Device, also known as the Box of Mourning, created by an 18th-century toy maker using vast amounts of flesh and fat. This box could open a portal to Hell.

Driven by desire, Frank sensed the way to open the box and luckily succeeded.

Then, a group of four Hellish monks, summoned by fate,

torn his body apart with chained hooks, dragging his soul into Hell.

Afterwards, his brother Larry moved into the house where Frank died. His brother's wife, Julie, had secretly had an affair with her brother-in-law, Frank.

When Larry moved, she cut her hand, and her blood dripped onto the spot where Frank had been torn apart: the attic room on the second floor.

The blood allowed Frank to escape from Hell back to Earth as a skeleton.

To obtain more blood and regain his original form, he found Julie and forced her to feed him with living people. He then killed his brother and donned his brother's skin.

Later, Christine, the heroine who opened the portal to Hell, traded Frank to the Hell Four, gaining her life and avenging her father.

As Wu Heng was recalling, the fat man spoke up:

"Ha, the same old basic survival mission."

"But this story mission is really scary."

"Is this Lemachand device some kind of machine component? I won't even mention that."

"But mission two actually requires us to enter Hell?"

"What kind of place is Hell? It's the lair of demons! The Hell of the story world—I've never heard of anyone daring to touch it. Even the tower masters probably wouldn't dare!"

"And the monks—are they powerful monks from the church?"

"Killing him actually rewards 10,000 survival points, more than the survival points for entering Hell! That's outrageous!"

The fat man was furious upon seeing the story mission.

He wouldn't even touch this kind of mission. The three missions were like four giant characters: Don't even get involved.

"Hey, little sister, do you have any information about the story world? Do you know what the Lemachand device is? Give me a hint!"

The fat man patted his chest fearfully, his fleshy muscles jiggling as he tentatively asked, "What do you think? You might die without even knowing why."

The woman glared at the fat man with a disgusted expression.

"Fine, I won't tell you then!"

"It's all those damn tower masters' fault, clinging to their own storylines and refusing to share them with everyone."

"And they're spreading fake information everywhere, spreading whatever's most likely to kill people! Now everyone's afraid to trust anyone except their own people."

The fat man complained through gritted teeth.

Wu Heng listened quietly to their conversation, confirming his suspicions.

They really didn't know the storyline of this world.

Yes, this world was vastly different from his previous life in terms of literature and film.

Wu Heng felt a surge of excitement, only to be dashed like a bucket of cold water.

In this kind of horror movie world,

even knowing the plot, it's not easy for ordinary people.

After all, many protagonists in horror movies die; the protagonist's halo might mean they only die at the very end.

As for the supporting characters, most are just there to kill the protagonist.

The woman, watching the fat man's grumbling, said calmly:

"You can say this in front of the tower masters when you get back to the Lighthouse. What's the point of saying it here?"

"I was just grumbling, but..."

The fat man's arrogance vanished instantly. He looked at the woman and then at Wu Heng.

"I'm not lying, Fatty, I have some definite information about this world. Maybe I can learn a trick or two to sense evil."

"As long as you two swear to give me all 500 survival points from this dungeon when it's over, I'll take you with me. If it weren't for the chance to refresh the next dungeon, I wouldn't be doing this."

The fat man finished speaking with a look that said, "You've hit the jackpot."

"No need. I have my own things to do. Hiding here only prolongs my life for a few days."

"Also, newbie, I suggest you enjoy this month to the fullest. In this kind of difficult dungeon, exploring the plot is certain death, returning to reality is also certain death. That's all I have to say, I'm going now."

The woman in the baseball cap finished speaking calmly and disappeared.

"Pah, prolonging your life~"

The fat man spat out a piece of betel nut in the direction the woman disappeared, mimicking a strange sound, then turned to Wu Heng:

"Brother, it's just the two of us now. What do you say? Maybe my information can heal your injuries."

Wu Heng thought for a moment and said, "I agree, but how do I find you in the story world?"

"The code is: SL Fat Brother v Martial Arts Overbearing."

"Remember this code. Whether through social media or a public notice, we can find each other."

"Okay, I understand."

Wu Heng nodded.

"Time's almost up. I'm going in first. You won't like the teleportation method after the countdown ends."

The fat man vanished after speaking.

Wu Heng looked at the remaining one-minute countdown and mentally selected "Enter Now."

As Wu Heng teleported away, the spatial shield shattered and disappeared.

The darkness was torn apart, and warm sunlight reflected onto Wu Heng's face.

Everything around him instantly came alive; the sounds of cars, footsteps, and shouts filled his ears.

Wu Heng opened his eyes. He was sitting in the back seat of a black limousine.

The soft leather seats and the gentle hum of the engine made Wu Heng feel much more comfortable.

"Sir, what should we do?"

A respectful middle-aged voice came from the driver's seat.

Wu Heng looked closely, his brow furrowing slightly.

Five or six black men, wielding sticks and stones, surrounded the car, blocking it in place.

They were twisting and jumping, gesticulating wildly.

They kept muttering something, which was hard to hear through the car window.

Wu Heng hadn't had a good impression of these people in his past life, and his impression was even worse now.

"Ram them!"

Wu Heng tightened his seatbelt and whispered.

The instant he opened his eyes, he understood his role in this story world.

The Miranda family, a well-known local jeweler.

And he was the sole heir of the Miranda family: Dean Miranda.

In short: rich.

Just a few street thugs, but today's experience had left Wu Heng seething with anger.

"Please sit tight!"

The driver was visibly excited.

He floored the accelerator, and the car surged forward with a powerful push.

The thugs who had blocked the car jumped and screamed to either side like stray dogs hit by a stone.

The thugs' shouts and curses echoed across the dusty road behind the car.

The sound of something being smashed came from the rear of the vehicle.
