Adrian entered the hospital room like a man ready to arrest somebody.
The door swung open so hard it nearly bounced back.
Kiss, who was sitting up against the pillows with a glass of water in hand, looked at him once... then calmly took another sip.
"…Why are you breathing like that?"
Adrian stopped beside the bed, chest rising and falling.
"Because I heard something terrifyingly shocking and I just rushed it to check if is true".
" And besides you scared everybody half to death."
She lowered the cup and studied his face.
His tie was crooked.
His hair was a mess.
His eyes were red.
And with that, something softer moved through her chest Because he cares too much.
Then she said, "You look ugly when you panic."
Isaac, standing by the window with coffee, choked laughing.
Augustina slapped his arm. "Shut up."
Adrian pointed at Kiss. "See? This is the problem. Zero remorse."
Kiss blinked innocently. "I said you looked ugly. I did not lie."
