Josephine and the rest of the crew are in that center area where the pedestals are near, and Monitor has placed a bunch of sunglasses for everyone in the group.
"These are for you to put on, it's how you will get to the place." He says. "But before you go, I must tell you your actual mission. Your final goal is to get from Sicily, Italy, to Paris, France. All in the middle of a war, during the apocalypse."
"Woah, woah, slow down. that is not something you should have left out during our talk at the table!" Agatha yells
"You will just have to make due with it, now put on the sunglasses."
Everyone in the group puts on their sunglasses, and the strange sun-like yellow-orange light that was peering through the windows immediately went out. Josephine's entire body felt numb, weak, and heavy. Soon she started to shake from it. Here she learned, the hard way, that lack of light exposure is one of the few things that could kill her here. Monitor was going to kill them all and bring them back in his world. Her eyes stung, burned, watered, and eventually disintegrated from the extra layer of darkness.
The sensory meltdown was so bad that it knocked her out, along with the rest of the group before they felt any lethal damage, besides the Light Deficiency. Eventually, the group's bodies started to disintegrate from the skin, flesh, blood, and then to the heart.
It takes a second for everything to come back. First her hearing. Josephine heard birds chirping, even in her groggy, half asleep state.. Next came her sense of touch, she felt grass on her face. The grass was a soft pillow compared to the grass from back when she was alive.
The rest came back all at once, and that's when she woke up. She was laying on the ground at the top of a cliff, and from there she could see fire. The fire was distant, it was just out of where she could see, but it was burning something. She realized the rest of the group was awake, and already behind her. Noi was trying to leave and get going, but Agatha wouldn't let him
"You idiot! You can't leave for 2 reasons. One of them being that we're forgetting sleeping beauty is still over there, and the other being that you know better! You know how Monitor's experiments work, the goal is always in the name. And because it's An Odyssey he wants us to take our sweet time with getting to Paris."
"And I've taken my sweet time waiting for you all to wake up!" Noi says.
"Ags, it's no use reasoning with him, just keep him there." Cione said
Blanc looked uncomfortable with everyone seeming to argue already, but Varelle stayed by his side.
"Agatha-" Josephine tries to say
"Oh, she's awake. Move it or lose it, Patches. I wanna get out of here." Noi shouts to her.
Josephine walks down the hill, still half dead. When she gets to Agatha, Josephine needed her to keep her balanced.
"Everything... hurts." Josephine mumbled
"Yeah I get it. Getting Light Deficiency'd into another place leaves you a wreck when you wake up, especially if it's your first day." Agatha said
"Pierre, when's the last time Agatha's been an over-controlling dictator to the group?" Noi asked
"20 seconds and counting." Pierre replied
"Oh for Christ's sake I have a half asleep woman in my arms, don't even try being jerks or else the second she can walk on her own I'll punt you two all the way to Paris." Agatha coldly said
Once everything settles down the crew begin their walk into seemingly nowhere, but before Josephine woke up, Varelle spotted a town east of the cliff they were all on. Josephine tries to ask Agatha if they even know where they are, or if there were any clues around their wake up spot as to where else they could go.
"I haven't seen anything else, Varelle spotted the town we're going to. But for some reason me and Blanc got Sabre swords, which makes me think that getting to a place so obvious for us to see is probably going to be rough, so try to stay behind Agatha while you wake up." Lucindelle says
Before they knew it, 2 bloodthirsty boars charging at them from the bushes. Lucindelle takes out the first one with ease, but the other one targets Blanc, but Noi had another idea
"Pierre, stab 'em!" He yelled out
"You got it!" Pierre yelled back, running towards the boar, switchblade in hand, and stabbed it in the back of the neck, taking it down.
The eyes peeking out of Blanc's mask went from prepared to confused. Blanc had a sword in hand, he didn't need saving.
After the boars were killed, a man in white apron comes running around the corner
"What have you done to my pigs?!" He shouts out
"Hey it was in self defense! They started attacking us and we had to defend!" Pierre yells back
When the man gets closer, he stops running and realizes the situation, and forgives them for what they did.
"Oh well, they were the only ones who escaped. You all seem lost, you need a way to the town?" He asks
"Yes, we do." Agatha said.
Josephine followed the crew, what she was most scared of was displeasing Monitor and maybe getting hanged, which she came up with a million things Monitor could do to her in such a vulnerable state
The man had walked them all to the town's gates, which weren't far from where they were, and introduced himself as Lorenzo. And they were in.
