Chapter 47: Disadvantage and the Figure from the Sky
After being reminded by Crane, even Akainu noticed it.
The injuries he had suffered were indeed healed, and the fatigue from the battle had vanished completely. He frowned, looking at his hands.
Is it really... the power of a God?
If such a being truly existed, why didn't this "God" simply wipe out all evil and criminals from the world? What were these deities doing?
Akainu's eyes became bloodshot. If God was this capricious, then perhaps God needed to be killed. Such a god was useless to the world of Absolute Justice.
"The real battle has begun!" Crane's voice cut through his thoughts.
Akainu raised his head abruptly.
On the screen, Kizaru and Aokiji were now standing back-to-back. With Akainu gone, they could no longer split the enemy. Two faced three. The enemy had the numerical advantage.
Aokiji and Kizaru had to join forces, whether they wanted to or not. Fighting independently would lead to being defeated individually.
As the Admirals regrouped, the three Sannin—Tsunade, Jiraiya, and Orochimaru—also reunited. Tsunade wore a slightly smug look on her face.
"How about it? My plan was okay, right?" Tsunade grinned.
Hearing her words, Aokiji's eyes narrowed.
The spectators in the Pirate World were stunned. Was that scene planned from the start?
After reviewing the intelligence on the three Admirals' abilities, the Sannin had agreed that the most dangerous enemy was the one with the magma ability. Whether in the Ninja World or the Pirates World, lava was a terrifying natural disaster. In terms of destructive power, it was arguably the most potent of the three abilities.
Jiraiya smiled helplessly. "Well, it worked out really well!"
Orochimaru glanced at Jiraiya, who was fawning over Tsunade. "Didn't I come up with this plan?"
Tsunade's expression shifted. "But I was the one who sent that guy flying!"
Orochimaru remained silent.
Jiraiya stepped forward. "Okay, let's solve the remaining two together!"
Orochimaru and Tsunade grew serious again.
Aokiji and Kizaru felt immense pressure. These ninjas were more difficult to deal with than they had imagined.
A plan? They had formulated a plan to defeat Akainu before the battle even began?
Impossible, Aokiji thought. They couldn't possibly understand Akainu's full combat power. How could they plan everything in advance?
Regardless of the opponent's strategy, the Sannin were launching a new round of attacks.
This time, Jiraiya took point. His eyes locked onto Aokiji. "Your ice is strong," he said calmly. "But tell me—will your ice prevail, or my fire?"
"Fire Style: Great Flame Bullet!"
His hand seals were dazzlingly fast, completed almost instantly. Jiraiya opened his mouth and took a sharp breath. Seeing the familiar movement, Aokiji thought of the other ninja (Kakashi) he had fought in Marineford Plaza.
Do all ninjas breathe fire?
But Aokiji wasn't afraid of flames. Cold air condensed rapidly around his body.
"Ice Time Capsule!"
In an instant, a wave of freezing energy erupted, rushing toward the sudden blast of intense flames.
The fire howled.
In the audience, Ace stared wide-eyed at the man spitting fierce flames. "This guy's fire! It seems even stronger than my Mera-Mera Fruit!"
Looking at the flames that engulfed most of the duel field in an instant, even Ace wondered if he could match that output. At the very least, releasing such intense fire so casually was difficult.
Whitebeard frowned slightly. "Idiot son... open your eyes and take a closer look."
Ace studied the spurting flames with confusion. The light of the fire seemed much brighter and more viscous than ordinary fire.
Big Mom sneered from her seat. "What a strange ability. He spits out an oil-like substance from his mouth and then ignites it, releasing a fire far more terrifying than ordinary flames!"
Hearing Big Mom's explanation, Ace finally understood. Oil? The opponent uses oil as a catalyst?
Boom!
Whether it was oil or not, Jiraiya's flame bullet and Aokiji's ice wave collided violently. The fire, mixed with oil, was far more potent than the Fire Style Kakashi had released previously.
Aokiji's ice seemed to struggle against it.
"Pheasant Beak!"
A massive bird of ice broke through the air, charging toward the flames.
Seeing this, Kizaru raised his hand to release a laser beam to assist Aokiji. However, in the next second, a thick mist spread over the arena.
The entire field was blanketed in white. The battle was completely obscured.
Suddenly, a strong gale appeared out of thin air.
"Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!"
Whoosh!
A powerful storm hit. The fog dissipated instantly, but Aokiji and Kizaru struggled to stabilize their bodies against the wind.
For a second, Aokiji thought they were using the same 'Hidden in the Mist' tactic Kakashi had used. But the smoke cleared immediately—obviously, blocking their sight wasn't the primary goal.
Shua~ Shua!
A series of black snakes suddenly launched from the ground, biting at the two Admirals.
Aokiji and Kizaru retreated immediately, activating their abilities to slice off the snakes' heads.
"Earth Style: Dark Swamp!"
The ground beneath them suddenly liquified into a mud pit. Aokiji and Kizaru sank into the quagmire.
Sengoku frowned in Marineford Plaza. "No! The abilities of these guys are so weird and disconnected! The ninja's abilities are too varied..."
By this time, Yuichi had already begun to sigh.
When fighting a ninja, if the opponent disappears from your field of vision for even a second, you must realize one thing: the enemy in front of you might be a distraction.
Aokiji frowned as the ground turned to sludge. Want to trap us? Hmph.
Can a swamp move if it is frozen?
Cold air surged, and the swamp froze solid instantly. Kizaru, meanwhile, turned into a beam of light and escaped the mud effortlessly.
Aokiji prepared to pull his leg out of the frozen swamp.
Boom!
A terrifying roar sounded from above.
A figure falling from the sky landed firmly on Aokiji's head.
The frozen swamp shattered instantly, turning into countless fragments as the shockwave pulverized the ground.
"What?!"
The sudden blow took everyone by surprise. Why did something suddenly fall from the sky?
