Chapter 29 - Familiar

Inuzuka Veterinary clinic–

"Taiju, keep him still," Hana orders him, and the Inuzuka clan heir smirks at the sight of Taiju struggling to keep a juvenile pup in the bath.

Splash, splash

Taiju is drenched in water, his clothes smelling of shampoo, and fur covering his arms.

"Why do I have to bathe them?" He growls, the rebellious dog won't stop thrashing in his hold.

Hana ignores his complaints, pouring more dip into the bathtub.

"Oi–DON'T ADD MORE OF THAT STUFF!" He snaps at her, his hands giving away the smallest void of space.

Like a crook under headlights, the juvenile made a beeline to the exit. Wet paw marks trailing on the floor like crime evidence.

"Damn it." Taiju sighs, slumping to the wet floor, back to the tub, the Anbu looks defeated.

"I hate this."

Hana stands over him, her hand resting on her hip. "We have 5 more to bathe, and after that, it's feeding time." Hana reminds him.

"Oh, Kami." He rubs his eyes. "Don't you employees for such?"

Hana rolls her eyes," Why pay when you have free labour?"

"..."

------

The rest of their day went surprisingly well, after nearly three hours of negotiating with the dogs not to fight, turning bath time into an early one, and busting his skull open in his rush to get the mop. Hana cried with laughter. Feeding was the calmest part, the pack of dogs was munching away while Taiju and Hana sat on the bench, looking at the sunset.

She glances over to him, "You did all right for your first day." She teases.

Taiju's tired eyes met hers, "I demand payment. "

"Pfft–forget it." She shoves his shoulder.

"Ow." He fake groans.

"You're so dramatic ~"

"You're a horrible boss." He retorted.

Hana stood up, loomed over him like a sentinel, "Say that again." She challenges.

Taiju manages a faint grin, "...You are–off."

His words died out as Hana shoved him onto the grass, straddling his waist, pinning his hands above his head, she leans her face a touch from his.

"You wanna finish your sentence?" She chuckles, trailing her claws across his jawline, and his body jolts under her touch, his chest heaving faster, eyes losing their earlier fatigue, now focused solely on her.

"Look at that–haven't seen such interest in your eyes outside of battle. " Hana hums.

"C–Careful pup... this is a one thing. " He chuckles softly.

Hana turns his head to the right, neck exposed as she hears his pulse jump, " Don't call me that." She warns, her claws cutting into his skin.

"Bite me." He dares.

Hana inhales his scent, right at the part where his essentials to breathing reside, his natural odour mixing with the fear his body is releasing.

"You scared ?"

" I fear nothing." He responds, eyes on the dogs playing in the field, completely ignorant of the ongoing scene.

"Is this a kink you developed?" He teases.

"Shut up." She palms his head, catching a scent near his collarbone, and she sniffs the area with her sensitive nostrils. Her body froze as the scent hit her like an epiphany.

"Why do you smell like Lady Tsunade?" Hana questions, fingers around his throat, not in an intimate manner, the type that promises pain, excruciating pain.

"What are you talking about?" He stammers, heartbeat on soldier pills.

"Taiju."

She says his name with no intentions of humour, the icy nature of her speech fitting her title as one quarter of the Ice Queens.

"Don't screw with me. You smell like a woman's perfume and a hint of sake." She growls, eyes back to feral.

"Hana..." He trails off.

"Why do you smell like her?" She asks again, grip on his neck reaching suffocation.

With a sudden burst of strength, he breaks from her hold, grabbing her face.

"What are you–mhmff."

He smashes their lips together, stealing her breath as his tongue moves around her own, Hana's mind is fogging up, her rational thoughts morphing into her base instincts.

"Mhmm~" She moans into his mouth, taking his hands from her face to pin them to the top of his temple. They stayed like that for a while, letting their mouths get familiar with each other, her claws threatening to tear his clothes, and subtle humping from the Inuzuka.

"Isn't this quite a sight?" Tsume hums, the matriarch of the clan has her arms crossed at the sight in front.

"Eeep!" Hana squeals, using Taiju for leverage. She hops off him, landing butt-first to the ground. " Mom, w-what are you doing here?" Hana mutters, face ripe red, body shaking a bit as she gets submissive.

"It's not what it looks like." She lies.

Tsume tilts her head, "Oh–so what could you two be doing then?"

"We were just..."

"We were kissing Tsume," Taiju answers bluntly.

"TAIJU!" Hana shrieks, eyes furious.

"There's no use in lying, Pup." He winks at her, standing up he walks over to Tsume.

"Do you have a problem with me kissing your daughter?" He stands in front of her like before; this time, she can smell him clearly.

Tsume couldn't help but let out a chuckle,

"You have some nerve kid. First I let it slide that you beat up my son and played daddy in my home."

"That's not–" Hana whispers, burying her face in her arms as the embarrassment was too much to handle. "Please st7op..."

Tsume sighs, "Look–I have no problem with you dating my daughter. " The confession left them shocked.

"Really?" Taiju asks.

Tsume nods, "Yes, my girl needs a man with a backbone, and you're highly skilled...also it helps thst your handsome. " Tsume adds, unashamedly checking him out.

"MOM!" Hana screeches like a banshee.

"His my boyfriend!" She announces, her voice possessive as her animal instincts felt threatened.

Tsume raises her hands in surrender, "Sorry."

Hana huffs, turning to him as if he conspired with her mother. "You can leave now. "

Taiju ignores her words, hugging her from behind, she stiffened, "Taiju." She mutters.

The man kisses her neck, just a few inches from her mother, with full eye contact with Tsume. Hana bites back a whimper, saving the last bit of rep she has. " I hate you." She growls softly, face blooming with a blush.

Taiju, let's go off her, takes a step back, "I'll see you later, Pup. " He salutes.

"What did I just –"

Woosh.

He flashes away, leaving a gust of wind behind.

"Coward." Hana pouts, avoiding eye contact with her mother.

Tsume smirks at her reaction, "Si, that's your type, huh?"

"Mom."

Tsume relents, taking Hana's hand, she walks with her back home.

"Next time bring him over for dinner. "

"No."

"Worth a try."
