After the event, Argus looked tired.
He gave Hermione's family an apologetic smile.
"I'm sorry to have kept you waiting, Mr. and Mrs. Granger."
"No, we just arrived too," Mrs. Granger replied with a slight smile.
"If you don't mind, let me show you around here."
"Great!" Mrs. Granger also wanted to know more about the boy her daughter had been longing for.
Led by Argus, the group explored the entire Diagon Alley.
A disturbed Hermione did not stay overnight at the Acolytes or the Leaky Cauldron as originally planned.
After accompanying her parents through their experience of wizarding life, she bid farewell to Argus and departed.
This left Argus somewhat puzzled.
"They're gone?"
Vinda walked up the stairs toward Argus, carrying a wand and a cloak.
Argus nodded: "They're gone. They were supposed to have Hermione and her parents stay here for the night, but it seems like something came up."
Upon seeing the item in Vinda's hand, his eyes lit up.
"These are the magical items we researched before?"
"It can only be described as a semi-finished product. It has been enchanted according to your requirements. If any magic intrudes or it is damaged, the series of alchemical items inside will be immediately destroyed."
"I can't see anything."
Argus took the wand and glanced at it briefly.
The wand was made of chestnut wood.
The properties of chestnut wood made it like a blank sheet of paper, with almost no particular effects or tendencies, and it was entirely controlled by the wand core.
This was the perfect choice for making such a magical item.
Moreover, chestnut wood was not too expensive; if holly or elderwood were used, the cost would likely increase several times over.
"All you need to do is infuse magic?"
"That's right, just point the tip of your wand at the target and then infuse it with magic."
Argus channeled his magic into the wand according to the normal magic consumption required to cast a Disarming Charm.
The next second, a red light flashed!
It hit the chair not far away.
Bang!
The perfectly good chair was smashed to pieces by Argus.
Vinda glanced at him and casually used magic to restore the chair to its original state.
"Its power was indeed not great!"
Argus could sense that the Disarming Charm was only around level two in power.
It was equivalent to the level of a beginner in the Disarming Charm.
If the amount of magic released was reduced, the power would likely decrease further.
For those with weaker abilities, expending a lot of magic power to cast a weak Disarming Charm, and then having to carry a wand, was simply not worth it.
Needless to say, experts were even more skilled.
What could a level two Disarming Charm do?
The only thing worth praising was the silent spellcasting!
"Does it have to be made in the shape of a wand? Can't it be changed? For example, into a ring or something?"
Argus frowned slightly and asked Vinda.
"We should be able to study it further, since this cloak is not wand-shaped."
"I don't know much about alchemy; I'll need to ask them for more details."
"That's good." Argus breathed a sigh of relief.
If it could be transformed into a ring or similar form, this Disarming Charm would be far more useful.
"As for the cloak..."
Argus picked it up and tried it.
The Shield Charm contained within was of a similar level to that of the wand, both being level two spells.
However, compared to a wand, a cloak was much more convenient.
Simply drape it over your body to transfer magical energy.
"Next, we need to swindle some research funding from Lockhart!"
Argus revealed a devilish smile, his eyes unconsciously drifting towards Hogwarts.
Galleon, here I come!
...
The Christmas holidays were over in the blink of an eye.
Soon, it was time to return to school.
The young wizards, back at school, were clearly still reeling from the festive Christmas atmosphere.
They were all playing and fooling around, completely forgetting about the classes and exams that were coming up.
While everyone was sharing what they were doing on vacation, Argus went to Lockhart's office alone.
Knock knock knock!
"Please come in!"
Lockhart's eyes widened in surprise when he saw Argus.
They immediately turned into a standard eight-toothed smile.
"Mr. Grindelwald, are you here for my autograph?"
"Then you've come to the right person. I remember at the book signing event at Acolytes Bookstore last time, I signed quite a few books for you."
"You've misunderstood, Professor Lockhart. I'm here to talk business," Argus said, getting straight to the point.
"Business? Does Acolytes Bookstore want to order another batch of Lockhart series books?"
"Of course! You know, the experiences of a famous adventurer like me are always more sought after."
Argus ignored his self-praise and took the cloak and wand out of the Capacious Extremis carry-on suitcase.
"Both magical items are perfect for you."
"Take a look."
"Not talking about books?" Lockhart's enthusiasm immediately waned upon hearing that it was about magical items.
In his eyes, no magical item was more important than his own fame.
Seeing the wand and cloak, he couldn't help but show his disgust.
"This tattered thing is not worthy of my status."
"Don't forget, I, Gilderoy Lockhart, am the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts!"
"You lost at the Duel Club."
"I am an honorary member of the Anti-Dark Magic League and a five-time winner of The Wizarding Weekly's Most Charming Smile Award!"
"You lost at the Duel Club."
"I am a recipient of the Order of Merlin, Third Class!"
"You lost at the Duel Club."
"Can you please not bring this up again!" Lockhart said, somewhat annoyed and embarrassed.
His neck swelled, turning bright red!
Argus's expression remained unchanged: "Okay!"
"You were being teased by Cornish pixies in class..."
"Shut up!" Lockhart slammed his hand on the table, gritting his teeth in anger.
"Mr. Grindelwald, is this how you conduct business?"
"If that's the case, I'll have to consider whether I should continue collaborating with Acolytes Bookstore to sell the Lockhart series!"
Argus placed the wand and cloak on the table.
"What if I told you that these two magical items could help you regain your reputation?"
This statement truly hit Lockhart where it hurt.
He could live without money, and he could get hurt.
But you absolutely could not lose your reputation!
Lockhart stared intently at the wand and cloak in Argus's hand: "What does this mean?"
"These two are the latest magical items developed by the Acolytes, capable of casting Disarming and Shield Charms."
"All you need to do is transfer magic power; nothing else is required."
Argus's tone was seductive: "Think about it, silently releasing a Disarming Charm in front of everyone."
"Silent and wandless release of the Protego!"
"With this level of skill, who would doubt that Gilderoy Lockhart was worthy of his reputation?"
Lockhart's gaze changed, his eyes now filled with a distinct fervor as he looked at the wand and cloak.
"I'll take both of these!"
"How many Galleons!"
Argus thought for a moment, then looked Lockhart up and down.
He mentally estimated Lockhart's bottom line.
Five thousand Galleons should be about right!
With his financial resources, this money wouldn't be difficult for him.
Under Lockhart's gaze, he slowly extended five fingers.
Lockhart hesitated for a moment upon seeing this.
He gritted his teeth!
"Alright, fifty thousand Galleons it is!"
"I'll give it to you!"
