Chapter 67 - Chapter 67: I’m Just Exploiting Your Kindness

Boom!!!

Under the long-distance collision of the two punches, the seawater split cleanly into two halves on the spot, stretching left and right all the way to the edge of sight.

At the same time, gigantic tsunamis surged up, and the seawater squeezed by the裂 opening rose high and crashed toward both directions.

Fortunately, Dragon returned to the shore in time and unleashed his power, whipping up a raging gale that blew the incoming seawater back.

Only then did the shipyard site, along with Water Seven, barely avoid being washed by the tsunamis.

Compared to their side, Garp's dog-headed warship was far more unlucky, getting shoved backward several kilometers by the seawater.

However, they still suffered no casualties, it just meant it would take longer to sail back over.

Garp used Geppo to hover in midair, and York copied him.

Techniques like the Six Powers were something York only knew in theory before God Valley.

But during God Valley, he had seen Marine officers use them plenty of times.

York's talent was average, but since his strength and physique had reached this level, learning it was not difficult.

Pulling his gaze back from the sea split below, Garp flashed a standard D-shaped smile.

"Brat! When did you steal-learn my moves?!"

"Are your moves some kind of secret?"

York sneered back.

Garp's punching style was straightforward and unadorned.

As long as someone met the power threshold and learned Conqueror's coating, copying it was not hard.

And if one could survive after taking one of Garp's punches, copying it became even easier.

"Wahahaha! Fair point!"

"But you brat are still lacking a bit of heat!"

With a loud laugh, Haki began gathering around Garp once more.

Seeing that, York naturally refused to back down and continued gathering Haki as well.

At the same time, he did not forget to speak.

"Are you sure you want to fight here?"

"When I fight you, I won't care about the lives of the people in Water Seven."

Garp frowned.

York really had him by the weak spot.

That punch just now had actually been held back, because with York's current strength, he still could not truly match Garp evenly.

And the reason Garp held back was because he saw Water Seven right behind York.

It had only been a year since the God Valley incident.

On that island, he had seen the true face of the Celestial Dragons, and because of that, he re-established the justice in his heart.

He was no longer like before, a foolish loyal dog who completely believed in justice.

Looking at the countless ordinary people still living their normal lives in Water Seven behind York, the Haki coating on Garp's fist gradually subsided.

"Hmph! Don't get too cocky, you stinking brat!"

With a cold snort, Garp used Geppo to hop toward York.

York sensed no hostility from Garp, and he also used Geppo to return toward Tom's shipyard.

Before long, both York and Garp landed.

York dispersed the holy light that had been covering his body, and because of that, Tom was able to slowly regain consciousness.

"Dad…"

Dragon quietly walked to York's side and called out to Garp.

A shoeprint from the recent kick still remained on his face.

Garp sneered at his son.

"Look at you, getting ambitious."

"You actually dared to become a pirate!"

Dragon's gaze sharpened as he suppressed the fear a son had toward his father.

"Dad, I decided to become a pirate only after seeing the truth at God Valley!"

That left Garp silent, unable to refute it, so he shifted the spearhead toward York.

"Even if you became a pirate because of God Valley, why did you join under this bastard?!"

"His crimes are no better than the Celestial Dragons'!"

"The deaths of those thousands of nobles in Sorbet Kingdom, you brat saw that too, didn't you?!"

Garp wanted to use this to persuade his son to turn back, but Dragon firmly shook his head again.

"It's different, Father."

This time Dragon used a more formal address.

"York only killed those who deserved to die."

"With what those nobles did, even killing them once was letting them off too lightly!"

"Father, you should know better than I do what's really going on with our homeland, the Goa Kingdom!"

"If the nobles hadn't monopolized all the resources, how could a place like Gray Terminal even exist?!"

Garp was left speechless once more.

Losing two verbal exchanges in a row, he realized the gap between himself and his son in arguing, so he simply discarded reason and invoked fatherly privilege.

Waving a fist the size of a sandbag, he smashed Dragon flat on the ground with one punch.

"You brat! I'm your dad!"

"How can a son talk back to his old man?!"

Dragon was pinned to the ground, but there was no grievance on his face, he even laughed.

The reason was simple.

If Garp hit him, that meant his stance was acknowledged, it was just that Garp could not say it openly because of who he was.

Likewise, it meant that after this beating, Garp would not come looking for trouble with him anymore.

So Dragon took this beating happily.

York found a rock nearby and sat down, silently watching the father and son "talk things out."

Only after Garp vented his anger did he come back in front of York.

"Brat, what is your ambition?"

"World peace."

"Bullshit!"

"Heh, it really is world peace."

York sneered.

"You might not be able to understand, but true peace can only be obtained through force."

"Idiots who shout all day that mutual understanding brings peace, if they can't fight, then no one will care about the stupid things they say."

Garp narrowed his eyes.

He felt like York was taking a jab at someone.

But he could not be bothered to care who that someone was, and simply asked, "To achieve the world peace you talk about, what do you plan to do?"

"Kill all the old nobles."

"Overthrow the World Government."

"Kill all the Celestial Dragons."

"And become a world king fair and square."

York did not hide it, and there was no need to hide it.

As long as he did what he planned to do, no one would fail to realize it.

If he said it honestly now, people would probably just think he was bragging.

"That's evil enough."

Garp mocked him mercilessly.

"A naturally evil brat like you, this old man should toss you into Impel Down right now!"

"Too bad you can't."

York bared his teeth in a grin.

"Unless you're willing to let the lives of everyone in Water Seven be buried with me."

Garp's fist clenched tightly, then relaxed again.

"Ah, you brat, you really are sly enough."

"No."

"I'm just exploiting your kindness, that's all."

York continued stabbing at Garp.

"If the one who came this time was Sengoku, I would have turned around and run without a moment's hesitation."

"Including this new ship that's only a third built, I would have abandoned it decisively."

Two streams of white steam shot from Garp's nostrils.

"Are you saying Sengoku doesn't care about the lives of civilians?"

"He's not that kind of person!"

York sneered back.

"Are you really sure?"

Garp fell silent once again.
