I fucking knew trusting Jeff was a stupid idea. I was so high on adrenaline at the time that I wasn't thinking straight. All I wanted was to come home.
"He had no fucking right," I screamed, marching back to the door towards him.
He blocked my exit, his frame taking up the entire doorway.
"He didn't give it to me. He gave it to you after he said you could come by and sign the immunity deal whenever you were ready. I just happened to drop the folder while moving it so I could give it to you at lunch today and one thing led to another. I shouldn't have looked, okay? I'm sorry if I overstepped, but this is good, Stace. It's what you wanted," he said, actively trying to win me over with his charm.
Your fucking patience is starting to piss me off, Scott. How can you say that to me after seeing everything in that folder? How long were you pouring over the images?
