Chapter 5 - Blocks Everywhere

Taro POV

My body was still stiff after unlocking my chakra pathways, yet I oddly felt better than ever.

As my father put me down, I stared at my hands and felt an unfamiliar but cooling sensation flowing through them.

"That's your chakra," Mashiro said. "You have more chakra than usual for a Hosai member. It's not a bad thing, but it'll be harder for you to control."

I looked up and met my father's eyes, nodding. He continued, "Go back and rest for now. Tomorrow, I'll teach you more about chakra."

He turned around and picked up Nao, who was struggling to break free from his grip. Before they left my sight, I activated my Eye Spy skill on the two of them.

"I wonder how long it'll take me to reach these stats…" I muttered. "If these are the stats of an Elite Jonin, what kind of stats would Madara have? Over 9000?"

The cold desert night breeze brushed against my skin, making me shiver. "It's cold. I should head back home and try out Minecraft…"

I reached my room within minutes. As soon as I entered, I opened the system and selected the Minecraft card.

The card tore itself apart, and memories of how to open a dimensional gate flooded my mind.

Using my index finger, I envisioned Minecraft and swiped downward through the air. My finger sliced through space itself, opening a gate roughly five feet tall.

I gulped and stepped through without hesitation.

Once my entire body passed through, everything turned black. A sudden burst of bright light forced me to close my eyes. When I opened them again, I found myself in a world made entirely of blocks.

The first thing I did was look at my hands. Sure enough, they had become blocky as well. More importantly, I could still feel chakra flowing throughout my body.

"So I can still use chakra in this world?"

I looked around and saw nothing but sand stretching endlessly in every direction.

"Desert biome…"

I sighed, then remembered something important. Using my index finger again, I opened a portal back to the ninja world. After returning, I placed a sand timer down.

"I need to know how time differs between the two worlds."

Once everything was set, I returned to Minecraft and began wandering in search of another biome.

I ran around, interacting with everything I could. Everything felt strange yet familiar, as if I had been made of blocks my entire life.

Even though this world was Minecraft, I stayed alert. I didn't know whether I would respawn if I died.

After several minutes of running, I finally spotted another biome—a plains biome.

I rushed toward a nearby tree, but my stomach suddenly growled, forcing me to slow down.

"So hunger mechanics still exist here. And I can't force myself to run… annoying."

I walked over to the tree and started punching it. After obtaining a log, an idea crossed my mind.

"What if I use chakra to cut down wood?"

Unfortunately, I still couldn't control chakra properly, so I had no choice but to chop it down manually.

After fully cutting down the tree, I opened my inventory and crafted sixteen wooden planks from the four logs I had gathered. Using those planks, I created my first item—a crafting table.

After placing it down, I crafted sticks and made myself a wooden axe. With that done, I gathered more wood and crafted the two basic tools I needed: an axe and a pickaxe.

"Now that I have an axe and a pickaxe, I need food," I said to myself.

Looking around, I spotted two cows in the distance. Since my hunger was too low to run, I walked toward them.

Once I got close, I muttered, "Sorry, little one."

I leaped forward and struck one cow in the head with my axe, killing it in a single blow. The other cow simply stood there, mooing without any reaction.

After killing both, I collected their meat and leather. Then I dug down to gather stone. Not long after, I had enough to craft a furnace, which I used to cook the meat with wood as fuel.

When the food finished cooking, I pulled it out and stared at it, drooling. It looked delicious, and the smell was heavenly.

"Now… what does it taste like?" I murmured.

I took a bite—and my eyes widened.
