Lily stepped forward and bowed respectfully to Zarek and Eliora.
"If it pleases you," she said calmly, "I will lead you to your hut."
She gestured toward a part of the compound where several larger huts stood among the others.
"You must be exhausted."
Eliora let out a long breath and rubbed the back of her neck.
"Yes," she admitted. "I really am exhausted."
The weight of the past few days, whatever they had been, suddenly felt very real in her bones.
Lily gave a small, understanding nod and turned to lead the way.
Eliora followed without hesitation. Zarek walked just behind her, quiet as usual, his eyes constantly scanning their surroundings.
Eliora glanced back.
Maelina was still standing with her mother, but she waved at Eliora with a tired grin.
Eliora smiled faintly and waved back.
They passed several huts along the way, each one simple but well kept. Seers moved quietly through the pathways, some carrying lanterns, others supplies.
