Chapter 87 - May Merlin fool you

All three of them had heard of Miranda Goshak. In fact, most people from wizarding families would have heard of this famous witch, Miranda Goshak, whose book, The Book of Spells, has been translated into 72 languages.

Later, the inclusion of some malevolent spells in the Book of Spells sparked controversy. With the intervention of the Ministry of Magic, Miranda Gossack revised the Book of Spells, resulting in the Standard Spells series of books used by Hogwarts students in Charms class.

However, it is said that Miranda Goshak was not happy about this, not because of the editing of the Standard Spells series, but because of the wizarding world's complete rejection of the evil spells in the original books.

Miranda Goschak once pointed out that including moderately aggressive spells in textbooks helps prevent students from resolving disputes by using more dangerous spells.

In fact, Albert supports this view.

As they walked and chatted, they unknowingly arrived at the tapestry on the eighth floor depicting the giant stick beating up Banaba.

"Are you still looking for that missing broom cabinet?" Albert noticed the tapestry next to him and immediately knew what the twins were doing here.

"We've been here several times already." George looked around to make sure no one was nearby, and then whispered to Albert, "I feel like you can help us find that broom cabinet."

"You guys care a lot about that broom cabinet?" Albert's expression was strange.

Well, George was right, he did know how to get into the Room of Requirement, but Albert wasn't planning to tell them the secret of the Room of Requirement at this point.

"Yes, I am a little concerned," Fred nodded.

Albert walked to the wall, pretended to knock on the wall opposite the tapestry, then turned to the two of them and asked, "You found the door to that broom cabinet right here, didn't you?"

"Yes, this is it." Fred nodded repeatedly.

"There was nothing here at the time, and then one time when you were passing by, the door appeared?" Albert continued to ask. "Are you sure it was a door, and not the door of the broom cabinet?"

"Yes, that door definitely wasn't the broom cabinet door. It appeared out of nowhere," George interjected. "We almost got caught by Filch, so we hid inside."

"Back then, you were trying to avoid Filch?" Albert asked again.

"Yes, we do want to find a place to hide."

"Now, stand in front of this wall and try to find a place to hide," Albert began, guiding their thinking.

Fred and George looked at each other and tried it as Albert had suggested.

Of course, it didn't work.

"It seems it won't work?" Albert murmured. "Perhaps it's just a broomstick that can move around the castle, or… it only appears when it's really needed."

Albert's words were a mix of truth and falsehood, making it difficult to distinguish between them; they were perfect for fooling others.

A hint of disappointment flashed in Fred's eyes. They had tried several times, but still couldn't find the mysterious broom cabinet.

Bringing Albert along was undoubtedly in the hope that he could help them find the broom cabinet; after all, they all knew that the other was quick-witted.

In fact, Albert's analysis does make some sense.

A broom cabinet that can move freely within a castle?

A broom cabinet that only appears when you really need it?

A broom cabinet that only appears at a fixed time?

Actually, Fred and George didn't really care which one it was; after all, it was just a broom cabinet!

The two of them simply wanted to uncover the secrets of the mysterious broom cabinet and satisfy their curiosity, nothing more.

It now seems that figuring out this secret is not an easy task.

"Actually, you shouldn't let your thinking stop at the broom cabinet," Albert suddenly said. "A mobile broom cabinet? I don't think the school's secrets are that low-level."

"What does this mean?" The three of them turned their attention back to Albert.

"Didn't you say it yourself?" Albert reminded him, "the door isn't the door to the broom cabinet; it's just that there's a broom cabinet inside."

"Yes. And then?"

"Since it's a door, there might be a room on the other side, a mysterious room." Albert ran his hand across the wall and said softly, "Back then, you needed a place to hide, so… the room provided you with a place to hide."

The three men's eyes lit up as they asked, "You mean, the room will change according to the user's needs?"

Albert nodded and offered a suggestion brimming with wicked humor: "When your bladder is really full someday, come here and see if a toilet or something appears?"

Li Qiaodan clutched his stomach and chuckled, "I think Albert's suggestion is good."

"This great task is entrusted to you," Fred said earnestly to George.

"Why isn't it you?" George couldn't help but roll his eyes at the other person.

"What are you doing here?" Percy appeared out of nowhere, staring intently at Fred and George. "I heard that a few days ago, some Gryffindor students were wandering around the castle in the middle of the night and almost got caught by Filch."

"Oh, those guys are really something," Fred exclaimed.

"Is it you guys?" Percy suddenly asked.

When Percy Weasley heard that the students wandering the castle in the middle of the night were from Gryffindor, his mood plummeted, because his first thought was of Fred and George.

"Percy, if you're going to accuse someone, you need to provide evidence. Otherwise, you could be sued for defamation," George said immediately. This was something he had learned from Albert: always present evidence first.

"I heard you missed two herbalism classes on Tuesday," Percy said sharply, his eyes narrowing. "I don't care if you did it or not, don't try anything stupid."

"Ahem." Albert coughed lightly, drawing the attention of the others, and then said, "I heard that Filch knows most of the secret passages in the castle, and no student who goes out at night can escape from him."

"Although Fred and George mentioned wanting to go for a night stroll, it's highly unlikely they'll actually be able to escape from Filch," Albert cruelly pointed out the flaw. "After all, we've only been at Hogwarts for a short time; it's already quite an achievement if we don't get lost in the castle."

Yes, that makes a lot of sense, and even Percy had to admit it.

"It's impossible for freshmen to escape Filch's search; only upperclassmen who have been at Hogwarts for several years could do it." Albert pointed the finger at the upperclassmen.

After listening to Albert's analysis, Fred and George nodded repeatedly and said to Percy, "Don't doubt your brother so easily."

Li Jordan, standing next to him, slightly opened his mouth and looked at Albert, then awkwardly looked away, knowing that Albert knew about George and Fred's night outing.

But how can this guy lie through his teeth?

Moreover, even he found what he said to make a lot of sense!

If Fred and George really did it, that would be strange, but that's exactly what happened.
