Chapter 58 - Astronomy class

The Astronomy Tower is the tallest tower at Hogwarts, and astronomy classes are held at the top of this tower.

That said, astronomy class is a rather peculiar type of class. There is no set textbook for this class; students only need to bring a telescope, a quill pen, and parchment to class.

This astronomical tower is really tall, as the group of people who went to the top of the tower for classes could attest.

Everyone was climbing up the spiral staircase, not knowing which floor they were on. Everyone felt a strange dizziness, and their breathing became a little rapid due to the exercise.

"Which floor are we on?" Aria asked, panting heavily.

"This is the eighth floor." George pointed to a portrait of a drunken knight beside him and introduced it to everyone with a smile. "Last time, when Fred and I came here, we saw this guy fall into the river after getting drunk and almost drown."

"How could the person in the portrait possibly drown?" Angelina couldn't help but complain.

"Who says no? Look closely!" Fred winked mischievously at everyone, cupped his hands together like a megaphone, and shouted at the portrait of the drunken knight, "Ah!"

Then, something astonishing happened right before their eyes: the drunken knight in the painting seemed startled by the shout, suddenly panicked, and began to run around haphazardly, eventually falling into a river in the painting on the other side.

The drunken knight splashed around in the water twice before sinking into the river. The woman in the portrait next door quickly called for help, trying to pull him out of the river.

Everyone stared in disbelief at the scene, their mouths agape in astonishment.

Soon, everyone had to quicken their pace to climb up, because Fred's strange shout had annoyed several paintings nearby, which glared at Albert and his group with displeasure.

"Almost there," George said, panting. They had walked for what seemed like forever, but they were finally nearing the top of the tower.

"It's quite a long journey, but luckily we have enough time." Albert glanced at his pocket watch; class was about to start.

"By the way, if it rains tonight, will we still have astronomy class?" George suddenly remembered something; if it rains, we won't be able to see the sky.

"Who knows? I reckon we'll leave everyone with a ton of homework!" Angelina reached out and pushed open the wooden door of the Astronomy Tower.

Professor Sinister was already waiting for everyone at the top of the tower; she had just finished a class.

As night fell, the wind picked up abruptly at the top of the Astronomy Tower, and everyone huddled in a corner chatting. The Hufflepuff students hadn't arrived yet; they were almost late.

"They're probably lost." George was a little gloating, hoping that Professor Sinesta would deduct points from Hufflepuff's students.

However, George was destined to be disappointed, as Cedric and the other Hufflepuff students arrived at the top of the Astronomy Tower before class.

"This place was really hard to find, I almost got late." Cedric Diggory, breathing heavily, greeted the group with a smile.

"Alright, everyone come over here, class is about to start." Professor Sinister drew the freshmen over, with an item covered by a canvas next to her.

"I know you are unfamiliar with astronomy, and astronomy is what teaches you this knowledge." As she spoke, she pulled back the canvas next to her, revealing what was hidden underneath.

"This…" Albert saw what was under the canvas: a small model of the solar system housed in a round glass dome.

This model of the solar system is incredibly beautiful. At the center is a burning sun, surrounded by nine planets and their moons, all suspended in a spherical glass sphere, shimmering in their respective positions.

"This is the solar system, and we live right here." Professor Sinister pointed to Earth and continued, "Your course this semester will teach you how to use a telescope to observe the night sky and locate the nine planets in the sky above us."

The students from the wizarding family were clearly unfamiliar with celestial bodies, and Albert wondered if they even knew that the planet they lived on was called Earth.

Professor Sinister, holding his wand, pointed to the moving celestial bodies and gave everyone a brief introduction to the movement of celestial bodies, their solar system, and other basic astronomical knowledge. He then taught everyone how to draw star charts and mark the names and positions of the nine planets on the star charts.

For Albert, it was nothing.

However, for others, it would be difficult to remember in a short time.

"Wrong, this location is Mars, not Jupiter," Albert corrected Fred's mistake with a sigh, while George next to him was no better off.

After everyone finished drawing the star map of the solar system, Professor Sinister began to teach them how to find the locations of the planets they needed in the starry sky above.

Wizards' telescopes are actually quite effective, possibly due to magic, and they can see things much more clearly than ordinary Muggle telescopes.

"Have you located Mars?" Shanna squinted one eye and peered through Albert's glasses.

They had no idea which one was Mars, and for a freshman who had never used a telescope before, adjusting the focus alone would take a lot of time.

"Didn't find it." Albert was also quite helpless. In fact, he had already looked in the direction Professor Sinister pointed, but finding the most important Mars in the vast sea of stars was not easy.

Professor Sinister, who was always on the move, would occasionally glance at the students' telescopes and correct some of their mistakes.

"If magic alone is all it takes, is it really possible to travel to the universe?" This strange thought suddenly popped into Albert's mind.

There's probably no other way!

After all, the number of wizards in the Harry Potter world is already very small, and a small number means that there are also few geniuses...

Perhaps the Department of Mysteries at the Ministry of Magic has conducted research in this area, but that's ultimately just research...

After clearing his mind, Albert refocused his attention on the telescope and began to admire the starry sky.

He had almost never seen a sky full of stars before.

Albert hadn't found the nine planets of the solar system by the end of get out of class, but he didn't care. The more important thing about this class was to let everyone understand some astronomical knowledge and become familiar with how to use a telescope. Professor Sinister's homework was also very simple: to remember the approximate locations of the nine planets and their names.

"Curfew is approaching, hurry back," Li Qiaodan reminded him.

"I'm a little hungry, I'm going to go to the kitchen to get something to eat," Albert said, taking out his pocket watch to check the time. There were still twenty-odd minutes left, plenty of time.

"Wait, we'll go with you." The twins quickly handed their backpacks to Li Qiaodan. "Don't worry, we'll remember to bring you food back."

"You guys..." Li Qiaodan watched the three figures disappear into the distance, trembling with rage. "You three... bastards, wait for me! Don't leave me alone!"
