"Little brat!"
Kushina's sharp voice snapped from the stairway.
"Well, if it isn't the Red-Hot Habanero herself."
Evan didn't mind her calling him a brat — he was six or seven years younger than her.
"You little brat— what did you just call me?"
Kushina lifted her hand, ready to smack him.
Evan didn't move.
He simply raised his arm and caught her wrist.
Soft. Warm. Surprisingly delicate.
"Red-Hot Habanero. Wrong?"
Kushina's eyes widened in outrage, her chest rising sharply with her breath.
[Kushina hatred value +100]
"You— you—!"
She remembered how this brat had always been disrespectful.
"Forget it. I'm not lowering myself to your level."
She pulled her wrist back with practiced discretion, then asked:
"What were they discussing in there?"
Evan's gaze drifted — very pointedly — downward, before he replied casually:
"About the Scorch Release kunoichi, Pakura."
"Oh."
Kushina immediately lost interest.
"And they wouldn't even let me listen? As if I care."
But then she noticed Evan's eyes.
He was staring at her chest.
Her face flared red — more from anger than embarrassment.
She slapped a hand over her front.
"You— you—! Watch where those dog eyes are looking!"
[Kushina hatred value +500]
Evan's grin widened. He stepped forward suddenly.
Kushina's confidence dropped for an instant, and she stepped back—
But Evan continued advancing.
Step by step.
Until her back touched the wall with no room to retreat.
Barely a foot of distance separated them.
"You… what are you trying to do?"
Kushina's breathing quickened.
Her face grew flushed — whether with fury or discomfort she couldn't tell.
Evan leaned in, but instead of teasing—
His expression turned grave.
"Kushina… you're going to die."
She froze.
Instantly, her anger vanished.
Her brows drew together as she stared at him with rare seriousness.
She didn't refute him.
After a moment of silence, she whispered:
"Did your bloodline ability… see something?"
As the Hokage's wife, she knew the deeper secrets only Konoha's higher ranks were privy to.
In Konoha's classified archives, Evan's bloodline was described in disturbing detail:
A completely unprecedented kekkei genkai.
Two main functions:
Object Manipulation
Evan could manipulate a custom-forged sword at a distance — effortlessly taking heads from a hundred meters away. Precognition
Konoha's greatest secret.
Through repeated incidents and Evan's own admission, Konoha had confirmed he possessed limited foresight — the ability to sense elements of future events.
It was why Konoha avoided several disasters during the Third Shinobi War.
Why the Third tolerated him despite despising him.
Why Minato trusted him.
So when Evan said she would die…
Kushina could not ignore it.
"My child isn't even born yet," she whispered, "how could I possibly accept dying now?"
"Not only you," Evan said calmly. "Minato will die too."
Kushina's heart dropped into her stomach.
"Konoha will lose many lives."
"What?!"
Her voice cracked.
Her heart tightened painfully as panic clawed at her chest.
"What exactly did you see?"
"Why should I tell you?" Evan sneered lightly.
"You—!"
Kushina felt her rage spike again.
This was exactly why she hated this brat:
He enjoyed her reactions.
He provoked her for amusement.
His gaze was never respectful.
Behind Minato's back, they'd quarreled many times—
Even fought.
He had a mask of politeness in public—
And a serpent's face in private.
Kushina narrowed her eyes and mocked him:
"How do I know you're not lying again? Trying to fool me?"
Evan didn't flinch.
He leaned in, speaking softly near her ear.
Kushina's fist twitched. She wanted to punch him.
But she held back — because if he truly could see the future…
His warm breath brushed her ear, turning it bright red.
Before she could snap at him, he whispered:
"You and Minato plan to name your child Naruto.
After Jiraiya's novel."
BOOM.
The words struck Kushina like a lightning bolt.
How—
How could he know that?
Only she, Minato, and Jiraiya knew that name.
Her lips trembled.
So his vision of the future… was real.
Konoha in danger.
Mass casualties.
She and Minato dead.
Her child—
"My baby— what about my child?!"
Kushina gasped, eyes widening.
"Naruto?"
Evan pictured the future boy — lonely, ostracized, drinking expired milk, surviving on cheap noodles, yet growing into a hero.
"He survives."
Kushina exhaled shakily, relief flooding her.
But Evan continued:
"But he doesn't live well.
He has no food sometimes — catches fish in the river to eat.
Often eats instant noodles and expired milk.
Villagers isolate him.
Nobody likes him."
"What? No— impossible!"
Kushina's world tilted.
"He's the Fourth Hokage's son! Why would he—?!"
Evan's smile faded into something cold.
"Because he becomes the next jinchūriki.
He inherits the Nine-Tails from you."
Kushina went still.
As a jinchūriki herself, she knew exactly what kind of life awaited him.
Her unborn son—
Destined for suffering?
"You… what kind of future did you see?"
Her teeth clenched, voice trembling with fury and fear.
Her beautiful eyes locked onto Evan.
Evan lowered his voice:
"Kushina… if you listen to me, I'll tell you everything about that future.
And I promise—
I can ensure you and Minato survive.
You can watch Naruto grow up.
He won't suffer any of that."
His tone softened, almost intimate — like he was speaking to someone precious.
Kushina stared at him, stunned.
"You want me to listen to you?"
Evan licked his lips slightly, eyes lingering on her face.
"If you don't…
You'll die.
And Minato will die too."
He smiled faintly.
"Madam… you don't want anything to happen to your husband, do you?"
Kushina froze.
Then anger exploded in her eyes.
"Shut up!"
Her shoulders trembled with fury.
"You're threatening me?!
You DARE threaten me?!"
