Chapter 6 - LUSHII CH 6:"A girl of shadow and blood. "

The group got back into the school through Adam's powers which the girls didn't yet fully understand but they came to the conclusion it was probably speed related from what they had experienced.

But that's just guessing you can never be to sure about that.

Adam hadn't taken them back to their room but to the schools open court yard.

The place was breaming with a multitude of students.

You couldn't even see the stone grey walk ways just too many feet heading hither and thither looking like a mess of black picnic ants.

Lucy kept bumping into everyone clumsily as she tried to follow behind Abbie and Adam.

She nugded her small self through the crowd.

"Adam you said that you'd noticed earlier that its just one person who's actually causing all these anomalies throughout the school– so quick question how do we actually tell who it is and find them?" Asked Lucy still struggling to keep up.

Abbie with a tired kind of look thought they'd probably have to search the whole entire damn school for this one person.

"It's gonna be a shit ton of work and a bit of pain in the ass if we do it the old fashioned way like a bunch of 'gwellens' but with ether it's easier," Adam answered Lucy.

"Hey! Don't use that word its wrong… even for you," said Abbie seemingly angry with Adam.

"What're you talking about Abbie," said Lucy as she pushed through two other students and joined Adam and Abbie as the entered the school's main building.

"Gwellen* you can't just say that like its ok. That word means more than just a non–magic user. Its offensive to non "terrans". I know your from a noble house but you don't have to use it so casually," said Abbie as she looked away from Adam seemingly more disappointed than angry.

"If I'm am not wrong you're from a lesser house, you should be used to that word just as am I."

"Yes I am but its still not okay."

(Sigh…) "Fine i won't say it."

Adam tried to understand Abbie's point but honestly lied with his answer, with how 'noble houses' raise children I'd expect the Cerimona boy to use much more vain and vulgar words than just 'gwellen.'

The gang got into an empty third year classroom and Adam tried explaining the plan to the girls as best as he could.

"So since the two of you can't use your sensory abilities as of yet I'll do it and track down any mage in the school who's ether I've never registered before. Once i get it i need the two of you to help me in essentially assaulting this guy. Hopefully as discretely as possible."

"Ok sure but I kind already can tell all the power sources in the building by just looking around," said Lucy.

"Huh? Wait you can?" asked Adam looking into her split black iris'.

Still directly starring at her, "it must be your eyes you have 'etherin eyes' not any regular mage has those not even my dad."

"I noticed them before but i thought the booze was still probably messing with my senses."

"I don't know much about them… that might be a problem."

"So what do you see?" asked Adam to Lucy reaching for her hand to hold it.

"Um i see alot of weak pale glowing flames everywhere through the walls. I'm assuming those must be the other students. There's big red bulb that's you Adam and another one close the principal's office. Abbie right next to you is this cool blue flame."

"Anything else?" asked Abbie.

"Uh… i can't tell. Oh! Wait yea, in the school gym there's this sick orange flame."

"Well that's probably who were looking for I can feel it to," added Adam.

"Ladies after you," said Adam as he gestured at the door.

———————————————————

They looked around everywhere of which there really wasn't much to look around at except for the bleachers.

"Hey Lushii (shouting from the other end of the gym) you sure there is someone here cause all my eyes see is whole lotta nothing and nobody," said Abbie.

"Um well not really(also shouting) i thought i did but my eyes aren't working anymore."

Adam looked at Abbie and said " did she say that."

BAAAMM!! The gym doors got pushed open violently by a crowd of fourth years. They probably had P. E classes or something Lucy and co ignored them and kept on looking about.

The students aswell ignored them and went about their business.

Abbie was about to call it quits maybe they got it wrong untill she noticed something.

She wasn't sure if it was just her alone who noticed it aswell as the strange scraping drowned screaming noises.

At the far end of the court behind the ball rack an ominous shadow spread out like moving sludge over the ground.

"Yikes! That must be him or her or it… what even is that!" Abbie said contorting her face in fear and disgust.

A shadowy figure rose from the darkness and as it did all the fourth years got frozen in place.

The gym's atmosphere and hue changed aswell it all turned a deep crimson color matching the terrifying energy the figure gave off.

Abbie seeming rather distressed spread out her arm and bright blinding orange glow emanated from it. A beam of pure energy blasted out at the figure ending in a violent explosion.

The figure was obscured by plumes of dark smoke from the explosion. "Damn Abbie! You think you got it," said Lucy coughing.

"Hey!! I said we should do this discretely."

"Though i don't think she did get i Lucy but hey Abbie good work on your ether release, good stuff," said Adam clapping his hands.

Abbie looked back at Adam but in a flash he disappeared.

Adam was now perched on top of the basketball hoop crouched like he was about to pounce.

"Ok! Listen up girls am gonna deal with that thing myself yall just have to offer me some support and try not to get hurt."

Adam leapt forwad with such force it obliterate the hoop into dust.

"His speed its incredible, I've never even seen my brother move that fast," Abbie gawked at Adam's speed.

There was a loud crash when he hit the ground and the entire gym shook from the impact.

When the smoke cleared the trail of blue ether that led to Adam's position dissipated.

Adam's fist was outstretched and his brown hair was flowing in the air.

The one that met Adam's fist stood with ther feet spread apart looking as if they needed to find balance to deal with the force of his punch.

As the smoke and rubble cleared, Adam's foe looked up at him.

Her hair covering her face with her hand holding onto Adam's fist which was turning veiny from the strain.

"Its a student!?" shouted Abbie. "But wait what is that…
